Operation Hannibal

You want Ron Paul's name to last for centuries to come and America's path to be corrected for generations? You want the national media recognition our movement so rightly deserves?
One word: Elephants. Hannibal used them to cross the Alps. We'll use them at the National Convention. Imagine just a few Elephants with Ron Paul banners Walking in Downtown St. Paul. Here's a site that rents elephants:

I've put in a chipin
For everyone that wants to get behind getting an elephant to the Republican National Convention I've put in a Chip in. The elephant owners said it would take $5000.00 to hold the date and $16,500 for a day. I'm all for more ideas to make this the convention when the nation was taken over by patriots.

Gee, how do we
make this happen even if it is a little elephant? If we can't get an elephant how about a float? One side of the float could be all the freedoms we have lost the other side could be all the freedoms we gain with the Constitution. Maybe the dark side and the light side. lol, lol Or we could have Dr. Paul's platform on the float -get it. lol, lol We need something that will symbolize the campaign and our excitement. Something that is fun not confrontational. We want to be different we don't want to be compared to any other group.
We want people to say WOW, what the hell I want to know more about those people. We are running out of time, we really need some ideas. The convention is not the end but only the beginning, "it's the message, stupid"
How about that for the title? hee,hee I sure am in a silly mood this morning. Peace and Love and let's hear your ideas.

I agree with alot of the comments here: 1 elephant is enough. I haven't emailed the owners about rides or photos for people to recoup the cost, but it seems like a very fiscally responsible (aka Ron Paul) thing to do.

Well, I sent an email

I think the concept is good
But, the concerns voiced by the other posters here are valid.
I'd suggest first looking into the requirements of the city, to see if this is even allowed, or what permits, etc.
Then, just one elephant would be fine. We don't have to spend a campaign war chest on a publicity stunt.
Keep it where it will be highly unikely to be able to hurt anyone, and make sure that the animal activists don't have any reasons to make a big issue out of it, and get some media coverage.
A small, well-done demonstration with the elephant is cute, and it would be likely to make it onto worldwide TV, even if only for a short time.
Just don't let it turn into a nightmare.
