Iraqis claim Marines are pushing Christianity in Fallujah

FALLUJAH, Iraq — At the western entrance to the Iraqi city of Fallujah Tuesday, Muamar Anad handed his residence badge to the U.S. Marines guarding the city. They checked to be sure that he was a city resident, and when they were done, Anad said, a Marine slipped a coin out of his pocket and put it in his hand.

Out of fear, he accepted it, Anad said. When he was inside the city, the college student said, he looked at one side of the coin. "Where will you spend eternity?" it asked.

He flipped it over, and on the other side it read, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16."

It seems to be a common tool for missionary work

This WHOLE mess in the Midlle East has the stench of the Crusades all over it. WHY do the Christians care what religion anyone else is? I understand "proseltyzing" for Dr. Paul - there are LOTS of people who have never had the chance to findout about him. The people in the Middle East have had 2000 years to hear about Christ, you could say it is his home turf. If the Muslims wanted to be Christians, I think they know how to sign up. Do you know how you feel when you see the Jehovah's Wtinesses at the door? Imagine if they showed up armed to the teeth. Maybe you would find a way to study the Watchtower after all, no?

Nothing like spreading the Good News of Christ

Nothing like spreading the Good News of Christ at the end of a barrel of an assault rifle. That's what I call "Christianity."

Reminds me of something Gandhi once said: "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
