The Texas congressman remains an official GOP candidate and has about $5 million in the bank, and a mighty band of fanatical followers. Will the fiercely antiwar conservative become a distraction for McCain at the Republican convention? Paul spoke with NEWSWEEK's Daniel Stone. Excerpts:

Darn, I had a great
comment but you have to login. No way I can't keep my passwords straight now much less add more. There is a fellow who said about Ron Paul getting rid of the IRS and how would he pay for it with a bake sale. I would have said
that top economists in the country support Dr. Paul's plan and I don't think they are planning bake sales. That is what I would have written. Peace.
