Does America have another four years left?

Picture America under Barack Obama... or Hillary Clinton.... or John McCain.
Can we survive as a nation? Do we have enough left to bear another bad presidency? How can we continue to fund unending wars, tax the middle class, prop up a growing poor class (as the middle class shrinks by leaps and bounds)? We stand now - right now - at a breaking point. We're working something like 5 months out of the year just to pay all of our taxes (fed, state, local). It won't take much to tip the whole apple cart.
If Paul doesn't get in and jump on the brakes, does anyone else fear the next four years?

I wonder if we, the RP supporters, can wake enough people nationwide, to NOT FILE TAXES AT ALL next year....I'm talking 150 million people that don't file any taxes...would that make a dent? Would they be able to turn a deaf ear? If money is all they understand or care about, then let's all speak their language!
Do we have 4 more years as a nation? I say no. And my reasons are:
Amnesty will be given to the illegals if anyone but Paul is elected, then 30 million more will show up to take their places...Then, we'll be northern Mexico, not the United State of America. I for one am an "independent contractor" at work, and therefore file a 1099. I have filed my last one. I quit. I really don't have a problem with taxes...I have a problem with it being spent as interest to the Fed...or to house the poor...or feed Africa. I don't care about any of them. Sure, I'm a selfish bastard...when I needed help from Big Brother when things were really bad for me, I didn't qualify for help! So...screw them!

1.) Chertoff: He is isolating America from the rest of the world. He is demanding any British traveling to America to submit 72 hours before hand their travel plans. He is installing spying intelligence hardware and software that looks at your NAKED BODY and calculates your facial expressions as a terrorist 1-10 scale. What makes him stop with the just the British? Soon he will reject the whole world to travel here. The ones that do come will be degraded, searched, held up for hours and even get their stuff stolen from them while being searched.

I know you're all feeling defeated...but try to regain the enthusiasm and vigor I felt from this movement in November 07. Maybe we were too blind to think we could win this revolution in 2008, but we can still win it if we aren't throwing down the sword and giving up.
Things are always the bleakest before the tide turns and we start to win. Our movement is making more progress than you would believe, and we can't give up after the first battle. It is not a lost cause, and we all know it's a just cause. Keep your eyes on the prize and we can win back our country.

It depends on what the next 4 years are about
If it is more of the same corruption or some quasi-freedom movement, the answer is an emphatic NO. If there is an honest, patriotic small group put into power to turn the tide, our country can go through the healing, cleansing, and correction phase to return our Constitutional Republic easily within the next 4 years, but this has to begin soon, really, really soon. Will it take a miracle and do miracles happen? I think the power structures are imploding from their own weight and the plans are going awry as well as the economy is hanging on by a thread so everything is in flux, as much as the MSM makes it look like all is normal. There are those who want to make us believe that it is impossible for us to be successful in a true Revolution with the ideals of our Forefathers so they would like to convince to jump ship and settle for the crumbs (or crums) we are used to. Or pick one of the evils because we have no other choice. The whole situation is pretty cut and dry. Unless we settle for our food, water, air we breathe, animals, plants, homes, property, beliefs, and even children to be controlled now is the time to say enough is enough in a strong, non-wavering but peaceful way. I truly believe we will prevail and very soon as there is little time left to start the needed changes.

I had a breakdown this morning
I just feel like I'm so alone and if it weren't for the internet and the DP I would have jumped out a window months ago... I think it's hard living in Chicago and watching everyone so excited about Obama. Then watch the news and hear them talk about how great the democrats have been in this race. You explain the Patriot Act, monetary policy and fact that we are broke means nothing to people. Wouldn't you think that people would care about their rights as humans and what is going on. Or that people would think about where we are going financially. We are all going to be poor and no one cares. Some still think we are richest nation on the planet. Uggg. help us all!

and i feel the same way you do midwest_rpfan. i have a buddy, who happens to be a lawyer, that lives in Chicago. and no matter what you say he's all about Obama. and to think most people consider him educated. i have a bunch of friends who live in LA. two have their masters degree and both tried to argue with me that we're still on the gold standard. the older i get the more i realize college "educated" people are some of the dumbest bastards i've ever met.

Yes...do not lose the faith, for we do have at least 4 years left to fix this country.
Most of what is killing us is the unfunded future entitlements, and the fact that they keep bringing more to us...now we're talking about wars with more nations to bring freedom to the world, we're talking about paying the bill for the health care of this country, along with extending all other entitlements as we sink into recession.
This is all leading us to the path of doom, but it is not imminent. We'll have the chance to put the brakes on this apple cart of nonsense, but every day we wait, the pain will become that much greater. We waitied almost a decade in the 70's to put a stop to it, and in result we had to pay the price in the 1980's. It took another decade before we saw results, but we didn't learn our lesson and kept right on with the mistakes.
The Keynesian system has at least one more day in the sun, but it is when we've recovered that we must change our ways, and now is when we must educated people as to what we're doing wrong.
The last chance to fix this stupid system was in 1993, when the pains had ended and the economy was starting to rumble. We could have fixed it then...and although we wouldn't have had the 6 years of massive boom, we also wouldn't have had the bust. We could have kept with sustainable growth and would still be there today.
It is not Keynesian economics that will collapse us...Keynesian economics causes only volitility...it's the other mistakes that will collapse us. It's the out of control spending by the government, it's the massive entitlements with no means to pay, it's the nonsense wars and "police actions" and pointless military bases...the Keynesian system allows this crap to go on unnoticed. It allows for guns and butter, so the pain of war and government spending isn't felt directly, like some sort of tax.
The brakes can still be put on...but we're going to have to break some promises to the American people that we shouldn't have ever made.

I think we are running out of time because our opposition also believe that THEY are running out of time.
I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect not only an economic crash, but a flag event, a war with Iran, and martial law--all in the next four years.

I think the flag event, war with Iran, limited martial law may all be in the works in the next 4 years. They aren't going to declare all out martial law, for they would have a revolution (bloody one) on their hands...but they'll try it on for size after a natural disaster.
As far as an economic crash...I don't see it. I see some steady recessionary times, probably disintegrating into stagflation 3 or 4 years down the road, but no collapse. Things won't be great, but they won't be as bad as you may believe. It's always wise to keep things in perspective and realized that we are not in uncharted waters...these kind of economic events have occured in the past, and didn't cause the outright collapse that is being predicted.

I wish I had your enthusiasm. I just cant find it. I look around my area and people are buying fewer and fewer things. Most people I know are living paycheck to paycheck. This is the truth. There are ALOT of people out of work. Gas and fuel are eating regular people alive. The town I come from is full of minum wage jobs and most of younger folks tell me they are just working to pay for gas. Most of them are still living with thier parents. I know someone who's husband makes around 150,000 a year and she has stopped buying anything and she once was a full scale shopper. I dont see us coming out of this one like we did in the past. For one thing, we dont have the manufacturing base here anymore ( several large factories have already closed up and or went overseas here ) its only a matter of time before the rest follow. We are not creating the jobs that we once were. We have lost what has made America great, our manufacturing base. The economy is not growing, but begining to implode on it's self. We are seeing this. We have been trained to accept debt. This is becoming our downfall. Most Americans are heavy on plastic, but light on cash. No one saves anymore. If the monetary system does fail, it will make the rich and poor on the same playing field. You cant eat a digit. I think that they have know what is going to happen and have made prepreations for it. Thus the bankruptcy laws and the Patriot Act ect. They saw it coming, I mean it's common sense, there are 560 or so of them and 300 million of us...What would you do if you were a neocon/elitist/traitor/scum and you had to quell 300 million pissed off people who have lost thier purchasing power? We all know what would be done. I have also noticed a huge increase in gardens in my area, just about everyone I know has planted a garden. I guess it's instinct to try to put back food for tough times. I really dont see us having more than two years, and that's a long prediction in my book. People cant sustain at this rate and especially if prices go up anymore. The bubble will burst soon from the people, if we dont have another "EVENT" and a dictatorship first.
