Outstanding Video On Constitution: NAPOLITANO AT REASON IN DC

I just watched this, it is definitely worth watching; an outstanding informative video:

Here are the first few sentences from the video to give you an idea of what it's about:

"The creation of the American republic, with it's written constitution, and guarantees of personal natural liberty, is the greatest political accomplishment in the history of the western world. "

"Unfortunately, almost from the very beginning of the creation of the republic, those elected to preserve the Constitution began to dismantle it."

"In virtually every administration, from George Washington to George W. Bush, the government has sought ingenious ways to evade and avoid it's obligations under our founding charter."

And the website blurb:

Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano is among the fiercest defenders of individual rights. Both in his daily appearances on the country's most-watched cable news network and in a series of books (most recently, A Nation of Sheep), Napolitano consistently and defiantly argues that the only legitimate government is that which respects its citizens rights in all cases.

In late October, Napolitano gave the keynote address at the conference Reason in DC, where he delivered a spellbinding speech that blended a masterful understanding of American history with a blazing outrage at the excesses of the new security state. "Who [is] the greatest violator of the Constitution?" asks Napolitano. "George W. Bush has shown less fidelity to the Constitution than any president since Abraham Lincoln."

I love Napolitano :-) I suppose the odds of him being in Mpls are slim, but it sure would be great.

I'll support him. Hopefully

A great video. Thanks for posting the link. His book:

Constitutional Chaos goes into considerable detail regarding historical and modern day examples of the dangers that he speaks about in the video.

"An economy built on fiat money is a society on its way to ashes."

Great video

"The essence of freedom is the proper limitation of government". ~ Founding Fathers

The future president of the

The future president of the United States.

I agree. The Judge seems to

I agree. The Judge seems to be one of the best people to fill Ron Paul's shoes in our revolution if Ron Paul decides not to run again in future Presidential elections.

Judge Napolitano

I think he's a good educator. He speaks slowly, clearly, and precisely. Although he almost seems to be yelling at times, it does keep your attention.

It seemed like he nearly had that entire speech memorized too, including all the dates and details. At one point he misstates a date and immediately says, "strike that" and corrects it.

Judge Andrew P. Napolitano graduated from Princeton University in 1972 and the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1975. He is the youngest life-tenured Superior Court judge in the history of the State of New Jersey.

For eleven years, Judge Napolitano was an adjunct professor of law at Seton Hall Law School, where he taught constitutional law and jurisprudence and was voted most outstanding professor in three different academic years.

He probably did have it

He probably did have it memorized. I watched another video of a speech he gave at the Future of Freedom Foundation and it was very similar to his Reason speech.

In his FFF speech he included information about the NSA being able to turn cellphone microphones on, without anyone knowing, and listening to whatever the microphone picks up. It was related to his segment on warrantless searches & wiretaps. He didn't mention the stuff about the cell phones in his Reason speech, as far as I know.

The NSA can currently turn

The NSA can currently turn on microphones of cellphones and listen in to whatever is going on around you or was that something that was proposed?

can i get a youtube link

can i get a youtube link with a digg link please????

i would like to make this go viral

Well it could be put on

Well it could be put on youtube, but it would need to be divided into at least 4 pieces.

I'll see what I can do.

I searched youtube and the only thing I found for "napolitano" and "reason" is this:

Fox News Judge Napolitano Endorses Ron Paul

Good video too!

The judge calls Ron Paul the Thomas Jefferson of our day.

Bumping this so more may use it.

If you have ever had difficutly explaining to someone the dangers of the Patriot Act, and why they should be angry, this is is great video.

Please use it. This is a piece of Constitutional education EVERYONE should watch.

Long live the Revolution!

Echo this down the halls or don't

I want to wake people up - but I don't want to be an alarmist.

I don't know about Judge Napolitano and the video Washington Your Fired! It's critical people start educating themselves about the laws that protect them and this brazen attempt by the Government is unhinge itself from Constitutional law. There must be blowback leveled both at the Bush Adminstration and the specific Congressmen who signed Patriot Acts I & II and permitted the President to

My concern about telling folks the government has power beyond what it really does and that it can destroy the Constitution or about the Executive Directives yes it is offensive and alarming, but are we affirming the authenticity of bunk legislation?

Article VI Section 2

This Constitution, and the Laws of the US which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the US, shall be the supreme law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, and Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary not withstanding.

"[a]n unconstitutional act is not a law; . . . it imposes no duties; it is, in legal contemplation, as inoperative as though it had never been passed." Norton v. Shelby County, 118 U.S. 425, 442 (1886).

"An unconstitutional act is not a law; it binds no one." Huntington v. Worthen, 120 U.S. 97, 101-02 (1887).

"An unconstitutional law is void, and is as no law. An offence created by it is not a crime." Ex parte Siebold, 100 U.S. 371, 376 (1880), quoted with approval in Fay v. Noia, 372 U.S. 391, 408 (1963).

Should be required veiwing for all who hold our Constitution in high regards. I am so angry at what has been going on behind the sheeples backs.

Please distribute this freely!

So few people are aware of the sequence of events detailed here in such an eloquent way.

A link to this video should be sent everywhere and posted as often as possible.

It's almost too late.

Long live the Revolution!

Talk about "Straight Talk"!!!!!

God bless Judge Napolitano!!!!!!!!!

I'd cry out for him to run for Pres/VP/Senator/something, but I suspect he's reaching more of the people who really need to be reached by staying put right where he is.

If you have not yet watched this video, you *must*.

That video is amazing! Thanks for putting it up.

watching now, this is great,

watching now, this is great, thanks

you can get a reall education on this site.

That video is one of the

That video is one of the things that played a big part in my "waking up" back in January.

One huge plus is that it is Judge Andrew Napolitano. Many people know him from seeing him on Fox News as their legal analyst for many years. He gives the information lots of credibility and trust, at least for me.

What he says in his speech, the information - it was shocking to me at the time.

This is probably something that people who have not yet woken up should watch - especially if they are regular Fox News viewers as they will know The Judge.

It's shocking - a real lesson.

Yeah, I had no idea just how badly the Constitution has been attacked, nor the circumstances surrounding these attacks.

But, because it was Judge Napolitano, a very well educated and respected judge and a strong supporter of Ron Paul, I decided to actually listen.

I'm shocked. I don't think many people realize how far Bush has gone, nor would they trust such information coming from many other sources.

Lincoln is always taught in schools as one of the greatest Presidents, but in school they don't care about the Constitution.

I'll probably need to watch the video again to soak in all the information.
