Dirt on McCain: Post it Here

Do you know of anything InSane has done that might be considered breaking the law or being unconstitutional?

An idea born on this thread...

I've been thinking about this for some time -- there have been numerous articles and YouTubes about specific issues slamming InSane. How about putting 'em all together and making a complilation?

A little (little??) John McCain Primer distributed to Republicans far and wide would serve well to open some sleepy eyes.

There was a post floating around here not too long ago, about the many ways InSane could stumble before the elections. I'd really very much like to see a collection of the ways he *has* stumbled...there are so many!...it would be quite the tome and require a great deal of research and compilation, but would be well worth the effort.

Of course, if we all join in and together submit our favorite pet peeve InSane stories right here, we could create the compilation on the fly. Isn't the net great? ;D

When the collection gets nice and fat, I'd be happy to set it up on a DVD, ready for duplication and distribution; perhaps Bit Torrent the file.

So, who'd like to submit something for the collection? Please support your submissions in this thread with links and/or references.

I think we may be able to come up with a few examples, eh?

UPDATED: McCain Is NOT Eligible!--an analysis according to the law

If you missed this excellent post from a few months back, give it a read. It's lengthy, but critical to understand. It clearly specifies that McCain is ineligible to be President as he does not meet the requirements set forth in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution.

cfr membership

and what membership means to the constitution...

Constitution Subordinate to Exec Order

via Boing Boing:

John McCain vows to continue Bush's illegal warrantless wiretapping program

Excerpt (emphasis mine):

"John McCain has changed his position on illegal warrantless wiretapping: he used to think that the President had to uphold the nation's laws. Now he says that the Constitution is subordinate to the all-powerful executive order."

I just love Cory Doctorow's view of the matter:

Ben Franklin and his pals couldn't possibly have foreseen a world in which the very idea of America was under some kind of military threat. Those candyasses didn't understand what war was about. They were armchair theorists, civilians who'd never anticipated foreign soldiers on American soil -- surely if they'd known that America might some day face an actual existential risk, they would have put a little asterisk next to each clause of the Bill of Rights leading to a footnote that said, "Unless the [strike]king<[/strike] president really, really needs to do it."

The Boing Boing article links to this article: McCain: I'd Spy on Americans Secretly, Too. Excerpt from that article:

"The Article II citation is key, since it refers to President Bush's longstanding arguments that the president has nearly unlimited powers during a time of war. The administration's analysis went so far as to say the Fourth Amendment did not apply inside the United States in the fight against terrorism in one legal opinion from 2001."

Hm, perhaps that's the precedent being used as an attempt to justify the illegal driving checkpoints.

I do'nt understand

Why ca'nt Americans spy on the governt secretly too? Why should anyone be trusted in these "dangerous times". What reson do we have to believe there are no terrorist in our goverment. No sarcasm intended. let the revolution begin! They do'nt trust us why should we trust them? I can see alot more reasons not to trust them. Look where they have gotten us. We should know everythink they are planning THIS IS OUR COUTRY! Oh yeah thats right they have to keep secrets to keep us safe. Even about national Id, nau and God only knows what else. That is not government ! Its dictatorship. We have the right to be well informed or there plans for us. Actually there should not be plans. Only Ideas to be presented to us so we can have ample time to decide and speak through the congress! What the hell is going on here! We should not have to spy or even look hard. These thing should be highly publicized and explained in simple english. Most people do'nt even know about the 2 afformentioned . it's outrageous.

McC Econ Advisor Sells DEATH BONDS

You're just not going to believe this. Oh, wait...you will. Emphases are mine. Be sure to look for the guest cameo appearance by everybody's favorite Texas governor.

More Headaches for McCain's Camp

For weeks now, John McCain's presidential campaign has faced awkward questions about the outside activities of several top advisers. Add one more name to the list: former Texas senator Phil Gramm, McCain's longtime friend and one of his five campaign co-chairs. (A sixth, former congressman Tom Loeffler, quit recently after NEWSWEEK reported on his lobbying work for Saudi Arabia.)

McCain's campaign is already distancing itself from some of Gramm's other work for UBS: his involvement in attempts to sell financial products known as "death bonds," which BusinessWeek described last summer as one of "the most macabre investment scheme[s] ever devised by Wall Street."

Not long after joining UBS, the Houston Chronicle reported, Gramm helped lobby Texas officials, including Gov. Rick Perry, to sign on to a UBS proposal in which revenue would be generated for a state teachers' retirement fund by selling bonds, whose proceeds would in turn be used to buy annuities and life-insurance policies on retired teachers. UBS would advance money to the retirement fund, then repay itself, compensate bondholders and pocket profits when insurance companies paid off on retirees who died. According to a banking-industry source, who asked for anonymity when discussing a sensitive matter, Gramm was involved in efforts to pitch similar UBS products to other financial institutions.

Yes, teachers, now YOU can help raise funds for your fellow teachers' retirements by dropping dead sooner, rather than later! Hey, you can't take it with you!

Brought to you by the good folks with Camp McCain.

What if..

What if you market it as a McCain propaganda DVD? That way all of the people that are being blinded by the actual propaganda will get an unvarnished look and not just throw the DVD out...

This is the post you meant, I guess

There is a lot of interesting stuff in it. Actually it is the one of the best on the DP. I liked it so much I translated it for a German Blog http://ronpaul.blog.de/2008/04/15/17-grunde-weswegen-mccain-...
IMHO there is still a chance Ron Paul will win the nomination, after McInsane has become unbearable for the GOP. You should definitely work to undermine McCain's credibility!!!!
Great idea of yours, fanofwalt. Khan would say, you are one of the great thinkers of the horde!

BTW I miss arizona steve for a while, the great thinker who started this post. Hope he is doing fine and he has not left the DP forevever, frustrated because of all the trolls and infighting.

Yoo Hoo, Aussies!

This seems to be prime Oz time (a.k.a., the middle of the freaking night for Californians), so since I'm inexplicably suddenly awake, I'll take this opportunity to see whether any Aussies have McCain references to submit for our collection of InSane's Compendium of Idiocy, Lawbreaking and Constitutional Assaults.

Ooops - I meant this one

Sorry -- this was the 3am post I meant to bump for daytime viewing...evidently, I still haven't caught up enough on my sleep...bah!...

please dont say "McCain" , "Prime" & "Submission"

all in the same sentence. Great idea though! The Youtube vid has alot of people talking ^^

Luckily, I didn't. ;) Although now, I'm picturing McCain bowing down in submission to the prime rule of the land: the Constitution!!!! Whoo hooo!

Yes, that very popular YouTube does have a lot of people talking, and we can leverage that video, and even point to it as a teaser. "If you thought that video gave you insight to McCain, wait'll you see this." Consider that video the appetizer, and this collection the main course; albeit, a main course that must be followed with a dessert of Pepto-Bismol.

Off the top of my head I'm already wanting links to articles that discuss many of the things shown in that video (e.g., Liberman correcting InSane on who funds and trains the terrorists, etc.) as well as all the other scandals that have flurried about InSane.

This deserves a big bump

McCain't receives 100%

McCain't receives 100% disability from the VERY government he is running for President, for. If 100% disabled...WTF???????????
100% is a whole hell of a lot. I do not think he should even be considered for President. He certainly would not be considered for any other job I can think of...I mean, if 90% disabled he could do 10% of something anyone else could..but..100%? President? To me that is enough.
