Open Thread: Forward Strategy for the r3VOLution
Treg poses a question that is on everyone's mind:
...Where do we go now? What direction should we take and could we take the Ron Paul R3VOLUTION? Who should we vote for and why? Is it better to vote as a large voting Block? Where do we want the R3VOLUTION to be by 2012? How do we grow our numbers? Would not Obama as president be BETTER for us in the Revolution since it will wake up the rank n file Republicans? After all, we have seen how sleepy they can be with a Republican President. Another Republican President may keep them in bed with their hands covering their ears NOT listening to those of us in the Revolution, but an Obama Presidency, may just be the thing to get them out of bed and chanting our slogans.
Its about STRATEGY. Finding the best Strategy is a difficult question and it needs to be hammered out. I like to think the Daily Paul is the place we should do it. Many think direction will come from above, from Ron Paul, but since when has Ron Paul directed us?
Comments and brainstorming welcome below. What is the best road to take?

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!
To vote for Obama would
not make a statement other than, they may not like our picks but they went along anyway. If we vote third party it would make a statement, I think we need to discuss ALL third party candidates. After lively discussions we would know the pros and cons of their platforms and their backgrounds. Isn't there a third party woman running who wanted to impeach bush and voted against the war? I would like to know more about her. It will be interesting to hear what Dr. Paul has to say, that would give us some insight on how to keep our group together and committed. Actually, I think we are safer if we make an effort to keep united, we are talking about a lot of people. Eventually, if we continue to evolve and grow we could be a huge voting block. Some have spoken about the bell curve which makes sense because we are a very diverse group we might scatter to the winds. The things that brought us together were Freedom of Speech, Personal Freedoms, War, Guns, Economy, Personal Property, Draft. etc, etc. If Dr. Paul's foundation addresses these issues then it could keep up united even though we may join different parties. We could become a huge LOBBY group pushing for Freedom, Prosperity, and Peace.

But, We should not talk about any 3rd party candidates(unless that candidate is Ron Paul) until after the RNC in St. Paul.

As for Ventura, Barr, etc., I consider those posts off-topic like gold and silver discussions. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I like Ventura and I would vote for him, but he and Ron Paul will not be running together. Face facts, please. They don't mix and it's highly unlikely Ron Paul can be coaxed to run at all after September. He certainly won't run as someone else's Vice President.
Here's your problem: You don't have a plan to get Ventura elected. Start formulating one. The election is in less than five months. Every time you post Ventura/Paul or Paul/Ventura and I read it, I'm going to ask you what your game plan is. You may not like it, but you cannot win an election in 4.8 months without a GAME PLAN.

Get JV to file to be a write-in. Get RP to agree to be VP. Obtain ballot access in the states that will not accept a write-in for POTUS. Sell NOTA to the Dems and GOP that will not support the JV/RP ticket. Press to get 3rd party debate access. Run a massive write-in campaign in states we're not on the ballot.

Definitely write e-mails, lets test the waters.
I wrote to each address, and basically asked Jesse to step up the plate, put his money where his mouth is and join the Revolution.
I applauded Ron for all that he has given us and then sheepishly asked him to give more (3rd party run), and explained how I felt the time is right and will never come again (my 2 cents worth).

we can't stop now, we have got to keep the momentum going.
A Paul / Ventura Ticket is the best solution at this point.
This would give us a real chance at WINNING the Presidency and at the very least would educate millions more Americans.
Don't let the Revolution die people. We have a chance to make history.
We have to strike during this election cycle. 2012 is too late.
The time is right. The economy is tanking, Inflation is running rampant, there is talk of war with Iran, illegal immigration is out of control, taxation is higher than its ever been, and our Constitutional rights are being stripped away. We need some real change NOW. Not 4 years from now.

Maybe this should be our immediate strategy- to make the Ron Paul video of all Ron Paul videos--- Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura. Even if the match would not come about, just think of the attention it could get for Ron Paul and his ideas. I'm guessing there are some geniuses out there who could make this happen.

If Ron and Jesse see overwhelming support for the idea, then they will believe it to be a mandate from the people for them to run together.
We can definitely do it. Ron Paul was almost unknown 18 months ago, but now he popularity is growing by leaps and bounds. So much so that I think he broke 20% in some of the later primaries.
Why? because of the relentless people on this and other forums.
