'The Revolution' Hangs Tight at #5 on NYT Bestseller List
Five weeks after its release, Ron Paul's book The Revolution: A Manifesto is hanging tight at #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list. At Amazon, the book retains a full five star ranking after an astonishing 473 customer reviews. One such review reads in part,
Ron Paul is the most visible proponent of authentic constitutionalism in the U.S. political arena at this moment. The book contains chapters on the issues that Paul is well known for, including noninterventionist foreign policy, "sound money" and the defense of civil liberties. The core of these positions is a deep understanding of the U.S. Constitution. As Dr. Paul correctly notes, the debate about the role of government has mutated over the years into a squabble between various groups for government favors. This pits all the groups against each other, but what's even worse about it is that it weakens our own sense of individualism and expands the role of government into our lives. The Presidential race doesn't dominate the content, and this book will certainly be read and recommended by pro-freedom Americans long after the November 2008.

Everybody needs to go to
Everybody needs to go to Boarders AND Barnes and Noble and buy 1 copy from each.
Currently Boarders has it in it's New Release section. They don't use the New York Times. They use their internal sales. If we can get it on they're internal sales, BestSeller, it'll be displyed prominently and it'll bump up the NYT list.

Bad review still on Amazon
Come on folks, keep marking this review "unhelpful" AND reporting (click on "Report this") it as inappropriate. It's not a book review, just a slam by someone who did not read the book.

My husband bought several to give out at a

I will be suggesting he donates one to the local library.

Library
We need to get this book into the public libraries. They usually put new and/or best sellers in a visible location. We need as many people as possible to read it.
I still don't understand
I still don't understand this idea. How does this help increase readership and attention. They first have to know it is in the library. The only group this will help is that enclave of people who will go to the library seeking the book out. And this group is probably really small as most interested in this probably want their own book.
Library
I guess every community is different. The new/best seller books around here sometimes have a wait list of 30 people or more. People will read it just because it is a best seller. Sometimes the entire best seller/new book display is completely empty. The books were all checked out. Our library has 3 on order right now.

I donated a copy to my library, and they didn't even say "Thank you". Just took it in the back. I am hoping they kept it.
Probably some stupid Obama supporter working there
who took it in the back to put on the Discard pile.

Hey, I did the same thing yesterday....
Still shrink-wrapped from Amazon, I gave it to the library lady and she said thanks. I hope she catalogs it, I'll go check in a few days. I bet she took it home last night?

I think this is really important
And easy to do if you live anywhere with a bookstore - get onto the bookstores to get some copies in and ask them why a NY Times bestseller isn't at the front of the store.
There is no way that someone can read this book and not move in our direction.

I've read most of it and not
I've read most of it and not completely thrilled, though I am sure I am the minority.
Why not?
Seeing that he answers his critics, finally, on foreign policy (no one can ever say he's a "liberal" for opposing the Iraq war ever again), he exposes the two-party sham, he explains where business cycles come from, he has a hilarious discussion of the drug war, he explains the monetary issue so the average person can get it, he smashes Obama's "living Constitution" fraud -- this could go on for page after page, what exactly do you think it's lacking?

The fact that he has the
The fact that he has the intellectual capacity to belittle and deconstruct the stupidity and incompetent of our system and thus our systemic problems is of no consequence to me. Yeah, he's the odd man out and actually is intelligent and humane, but this is no real accomplishment in my eyes. And it's not courageous as some try to express. He just doesn't give a shit about what is acceptable or not because he can't help care more about what is important. It's actually a problem. But better have that problem than others. I can suffer from this as well.
Now my problem with the book is that it ironically has an agenda in it and I don't like that. In other words, he is trying to persuade and that I don't like. You want to offer, fine. But don't try to persuade.
I could go into more detail but I don't have the time now. Maybe later when I come back home.
Persuasion
I guess I'm glad he's trying to persuade. I'd think he was an idiot blowing an important opportunity if he didn't. You're trying to persuade me of something, aren't you?

Someone stole my book
I got the book and read it in about 2 days and loved it. I left it on my coffee table so I can gaze at it with pride instead of putting it on my bookshelf. My sister visits daily and yesterday we had a nice lunch together. She said she was in the middle of reading Ron Paul's book. I was surprised and asked her if she really went out and bought it? She said, "No, I took yours". I was aghast my book was gone and I didn't notice!
got to get one.
That's good to hear since I haven't gotten a copy yet.
This is such positive news
I want to give it a bump. Peace

First time!
This is the first time I'm going to say this to anyone for as long as I remember (for I've been an atheist since 12) - but here goes:
GOD BLESS YOU RON PAUL!
Any estimates on sales?
I assume they ran 50,000 at first.
Anyone know?
Unify
Target dosen't carry it either
I was trying to buy one for a Birthday gift, but I should have known better.
Since when I bought my copy at Borders they had it in the back (political section) on the bottom shelf. When I asked the clerk at Target if he could order " The Revolution" he said nope, we put out whats sent to our store. Which might I add had no shortages of Obamas 2 books as well as Hillarys. So again another fine example of Corporate America deciding what citizens, excuse me their Consumers read.

Anyone have any idea...
how many copies have been sold so far?

An awsome book!
The bookstores are NOT featuring this book. Barnes and Noble and Border's Books had just a couple of copies and they were back in the political section, NOT on the table with the other candidates or "best selling" political books.
Either this was an example of the stupidest pre-order of all times, or the book store chains are intentionally suppressing The Revolution.
Would not the Amazon pre-orders have given them a clue that they needed to order more? And if they had ordered more, wouldn't the publishers have printed more?
I am not in the publishing business, but it seems that it would be the cardinal sin of publishing to let the supply fall behind when a book is "hot".
