After the success of Operation RonDemption, where we hit our goal of a 20+ point finish for Dr. Paul in Idaho, I was feeling a little let down, as the mainstream media continued to characterize these as anti-McCain votes, instead of recognizing the very real power of the Paul grassroots movement. so....here is the basics of the plan.....
I floated the brilliant, but impossible, idea of a McCain/Paul ticket yesterday. Some Paul supporters have expressed reservation at the gulf between the two candidates on the issues, but that is the key to its brilliance. McCain shores up his maverick image, while Dr. Paul has some real influence over policy. However, with no primaries left, there are very few ways to leverage Dr. Paul's support into serious national coverage.

I urged Republicans to email the McCain campaign and suggest Ron Paul as McCain's VP, but who knows how many will do that, and will they listen? THERE IS OF COURSE THE REMAINING STATE CONVENTIONS, AND THE POSSIBILITY OF CONVERTING THE NATIONAL DELEGATES TO RON PAUL via a delegate revolt....but here is an fabulous idea that we can do, and that we have control and power over, an idea who's time has come!!!

MyRonPaulBlimp.com sells mini Ron Paul Blimps and they ain't all that mini, measuring 15 to 26 feet in length, depending on how much coin you want to drop. A portion of the proceeds go to the Ron Paul campaign.

The plan is for massive numbers of Ron Paul blimp owners to descend on Minneapolis for the Republican National Convention, September 1-4, 2008. I want several thousand Ron Paul mini-blimps to ring the Xcel Energy Center, expanding out like a shock wave, with "Flight of the Valkyries" blaring from every Paulite's car stereo.

Even a few hundred would do the trick. You could waste money on millions of mailers and TV commercials, and never get that kind of impact.

Send this story to all of your friends, Ron Paul meet-ups, message boards, etc., and let's see if we can't get Ron Paul some air support for his convention fight, and leave John McCain rasping into the microphone, "The horror...the horror.
