I would say that
Barr is out to get his own supporters. When Dr. Paul drops out, though we all wish he wouldn't, I think that Barr, and Baldwin for that matter, hopes to be there to pick up any Ron Paul supporters that will be drifting aimlessly without a candidate.
It is called a "hatchet job"
As I learned from the Ft Worth straw poll and Duncan Hunter..
He was sent to diminish and fracture support for RP. It seems to be working so far.
