'Ron Paul Governors'

If one of the best way to get to be POTUS is through being a governor, shouldn't the RPR focus on this as much as the House, after the 2008 election? Maybe there will only be 3 or 4 to rally around but this might be the way or a way to keep the momentum going and not letting the energy just dissipate. Obviously there are bigger risks with other candidates as they probably will not be as consistent or principled as Dr. Paul, but not necessarily.

Could RP meetups from each state get together to come up with possible candidates for their next gubernatorial election? Perhaps this could be done through the use of another party, the LP or whatever.

Also, other than Ventura, are there any 'celebrity' libertarians around who might be drafted as this gives them a very good shot at money and publicity needed??

Other than Drew Carey, Tom Selleck and Kurt Russell, I cannot think of any and I don't think these guys are, ahem, suitable. Maybe this is what Bob Barr should be doing after this, running for Governor of Georgia? Or other former officials from various administrations?

Any thoughts on this?
