Well, if Rhino can do it, I'm going to give it a try.
These are hard. I have no idea if this is going to be trivial, impossible, or somewhere in between.
I am one of those that all together make a cube,
and of them all I'm a relative newb.Fish and berries for a meal is what I often hear,
but one of my favorites is the reindeer. In the summer football does not suck
but in the winter it's all about the puck. For the root of my name
a distinguishing part of the ubiquitous soggy vertebrate gives me fame. And as to the suffix of which I am known,
it is telling of what I am by nature hone.
Good luck!

Any more?
Will you be doing any more of these?
I never had a hero as a child. I've never had a hero as an adult. At 45 years of age I finally have a hero, and his name is Ron Paul.
Iceland ?

Finland
if a "fin" is the distinguishing part of the ubiquitous soggy vertebrate that lends the name it's root- Id say Finland too.
Only thing I can think of...
Finland.
Not sure about the cube part, unless it has something to do with joining the EU.

sorry... too easy
As to the cube, yes, EU. There are 27 (the cube of 3) members of the EU, and Finland was one of the last to join (the "newb").
The football reference is in the British sense... soccer.
Very good!

track
not that easy...
I thought you put that together well. But it wasn't that easy...
The word origin part wasn't helpful at all until one tied the diet into it, and the sports. The cube was the perfect distraction for me, as I don't have a bone of math in my body! ;-)
Oh well, at least I know more about the EU than I did before!
Cheers!
