RIDE SHARE TO THE RON PAUL "CONVENTION" RALLY and THE MARCH ON WASHINGTON by Moonslippers

0 votes

We ought to start a ride share plan to share gas expenses and make the trip fun.

Just like the Ronvoy to the March, or similar.

There are other sites like www.erideshare.com and www.rideshareonline.com. and don't forget www.craigslist.com -searching in the rideshare section or posting there.

Or offer and coordinate rideshares right here on this thread.

Any ideas are welcome.

Also, perhaps looking into renting out villas and resort vacation houses or even camping would be a good idea for groups to share instead of high priced hotels. Again www.craigslist.com would be a good starting point.

Also, if driving isn't your thing checkout these incredible airfares from www.allegiantair.com They only leave on select days from select cities so it may be very limited A RIDESHARE IS STILL NECESSARY, but atleast your closer. Also they will not have flight information this far in advance but the discounts are very deep. They fly Delta jets and are just like any other airline with some minor differences, i.e baggage fees etc.

Have fun and get together!

I SUGGEST MAKING YOUR INITIAL NEEDS KNOWN HERE THEN SHARING PRIVATE EMAILS TO COORDINATE.

What a wonderful thing for Dr. Paul to do, honoring all those who represented him and fought the fight in the conventions. To him our vote counts, Our voices and his have a chance to be heard. Lets show them!

This is a great way to THANK DR. PAUL FOR FIGHTING FOR LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS for all Americans.

Great post

Very good post!! We are in NC and really want to go to MN. There are some good ideas on here that I hadn't considered.

Okay! I'm driving to Minneapolis from...

....Louisville, KY. I plan on leaving the 30th of August which is a Saturday. I'm taking I-65N to Indianapolis, I-90W to Wisconsin and then I-94W to Minneapolis. If you're along the way and need a ride just give me a shout! I have room for two! See you in Minneapolis!

i live in Indianapolis

if i don't ride with you we'll at least have to stay in contact and convoy up there. if i have to i'll sleep outside.

No matter who you vote for, the government always gets in - Bill Hicks

IMO, this is one of the best....

....forum topics that's ever been created on DP! I'll post later! Just wanted to bump this! Thanks moonslippers!

MEGA_BUS http://www.megabus.com/us/index.php from some mid-west cities to Chicago then connecting to Minneapolis
Outrageously low prices if you can get yourself to any city connecting to Chicago. For the list of cities, type in 'Chicago' in the 'leaving from' box.
Sample RT fare for the Aug. 30- September 4 – RT from Memphis to Minneapolis $63 (RT Memphis-Chicago $28 plus RT Chicago-Minneapolis $35) Similar rates from other places including St. Louis, Cincinnati, Cleveland.

I also recommend megabus

I also recommend megabus (w/o looking I think it's just megabus.com). I know they serve major cities in the midwest (Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, etc.) From what I understand the rates are GREAT.

I guess so! From Memphis to

I guess so! From Memphis to Minneapolis it is $8.00!!!
That is unreal! But..wonder what I would do when I got there..?

Also Washington D.C.

Mega Bus has schedules from major east coast cities that link to the July March on Washington. Greyhound information also applies.
see http://www.ronpaulforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=89 for more travel and lodging info for that event.

I wanna go!

I am in PHX, AZ and drive a two-seater that has no trunk space and gets 26MPG. Not good for a road trip. Anyone here from PHX that wants to go? Email me at josh.lindsay@gmail.com. If we can put together a group of 20 or more, I am willing to cram into a bus, camp, hitchhike, whatever to go.

My Shelfari page

I'd love to go too...but I don't think they'll be enough rooms!

to house everybody!...better to spend that money on the Barr or Baldwin campaign and funding pro-liberty candidates at the State,Local and Federal levels...

Ron Paul'08

Ummm, yeah! Good idea!

Ummm, yeah! Good idea! Not.

try reserving in Minneapolis

Bump We should really try to

Bump

We should really try to coordinate this!

Like the ronvoy maybe

Like the ronvoy maybe renting passenger vans from each major city and sharing cost would be good.

Passenger vans or charter

Passenger vans or charter busses, perhaps ... I would think if you can fill a charter, the cost per person should be relatively cheap.

how much are charter buses?

how much are charter buses? actually I have a cousin that owns a bus business operates out of Alabama...my take is that we all know someone and networking is a great resource so everyone get busy on the phone and call a friend, make an inquiry and share the info.

Moonslippers, I would have

Moonslippers, I would have to call and inquire, but I know one of the local meetups had organized a charter bus to go to D.C. earlier this year and I believe the cost per person was as low as $35-$40.

Anyone from Michigan looking

Anyone from Michigan looking to convoy? Flights are too high right now (although with gas the way it is, it might end up a wash).

Train?

I can drive from PA

Have room for 3 others+luggage. We'll need to organize quickly, and secure lodging....any MN patriots have couch and/or floor space to sleep on? Personally, I only need a pillow and carpeted floor to crash on. And I can bring my own pillow.

...let it not be said that we did nothing.

I'm down to camp and save

I'm down to camp and save some money

I'm in Denver and don't want

I'm in Denver and don't want to use my gas guzzler to drive to St. Paul however I would be willing to chip in on gas provided I could ride in a non-gas guzzler.

Anyone in D-Town or south of here going up?

I am thinking after a summer

I am thinking after a summer of low rentals on RV's (just guessing) that a cheap rate may be negotiable on RV's. Groups of people from the same cities may want to go in together and camp out in an RV. You can stay for free and are welcome at any Walmart parking lot...just another idea...
