Do you think Dr. Paul was forced
by GOP elite, Federal goverment, MSM or someone else to "suppend" his campaign? I have to wonder if his wife or family are threatened by someone, He has said he would go all the way to the convention. Why "suppend" with the convention being so close?

If someone was going to force him out, why would they wait until the primaries were finished? The reason he's no longer campaigning is because there are no more votes to get. No more states to go to. The primaries are over! It's just a matter of formality to say he's ending his campaign.

At this stage in the campaign. The primaries are over. If someone wanted to force him out they would have done it a lot sooner, when he at least looked like he might have had a chance.

...he saw that the grassroots were starting to divide and starting to fight each other over which (of many) directions we should go and this was causing most of us to get very confused and dispersed and so he decided to do something effective about it now rather than after Sept.

No, I don't think the tone is justified. I was out of line. Sorry. I get really frustrated with the nonsense sometimes and end up losing it like this.
As to plenty of reason for why he choose to do this, listen to his own words. In summary, it's because the campaign was never really about becoming president for Ron Paul. He's not an idiot. He knew he had no realistic shot. I mean, there was no reason to rule out the possibility that by some miracle it might work out, but trying to become president was certainly not the sole and not even the main reason he had a campaign. The main reason he had a campaign was to spread the message of freedom, and that turned out to be far more successful than he dreamed it ever would. He just used the presidential race as a platform from which to bring attention to the message, particularly during the debates. But the primary voting is over. The debates are over. The presidential campaign speeches are over. But the support he generated is still out there, so he is trying to do something with it. So he came up with this idea of the campaign for liberty to keep the momentum going. It's a brilliant strategy and totally consistent with everything else he has done. Why anyone would think he might have been "forced" to do this is beyond me.

Just don't lose sight that RP is a smart as a fox. He has seen the way things work from the inside and he knows what he is doing. One observation I have made is notice the instantaneous media attention he got from everywhere at once with the thought of him dropping out. They were all over it while pretty much ignoring him all of this time. Suspend is not quit. Have a little faith in him in knowing exactly what he is doing. I do.

for this announcement but after seeing the delegate shut out and he may have been concerned for his supporters welfare at the convention. Just a guess.
