Ron Paul Suspended His Bid for the White House??

If he suspended, he could still possibly get the nomination if McCain doesn't get enough votes on the first round of voting at the RNC. If he quit, I don't think this is possible any longer. So, did he QUIT or SUSPEND? There is a big difference.

The word "suspend" was used
The word "suspend" was used by Mitt Romney, not Ron Paul.
"..after much serious thought, I have decided to end my campaign for the Presidency of the United States." --Ron Paul, June 12, 2008
I won't say "quit"--he did say "END".

The way I interpret "ending the campaign.." at the RP2008.com
website is campaigning to "gather delegates" for the Presidency...
But now that obviously the primaries are over...so what is there to gather delegates?
I think the next phase is to....CONVERT GOP delegates from ManicCain to Ron Paul!
This is where the mini-convention, the target 100k membership by Sept 2 in St.Paul as well as the Campaign for Liberty comes in...that we attract enough clout, attention, influence..to eventually EDUCATE, CONVINCE and finally CONVERT the Republican Convention delegates of ManicCain to join our fold!
A practical impossibility
The probability of being able to converted enough delegates to bring about a Paul nomination, is very close to zero. You're engaging in extremely unrealistic thinking. Efforts should be directed at goals that have a higher probability of success.
unless something horrible happens to mccain...or he
sabotages himself....right now...no one is exited about him...no one....
all it takes is a major scandle or some type of health issue and people will beg for a choice...
I would say this is an excellent idea...
When the McCain people see how the party leadership handle these conventions in fear of a Ron Paul take-over, they might see more clearly how corrupt the system is and become distrustful of the party. People who have been active participants in the system for so long are losing their voices at these conventions just like the Paul people, which are run more like dictatorships than democracies. These people who DO make it to the national convention will be much more open to foreign influences and perhaps more likely to embrace Ron Paul with a little bit of help by us, the supporters. Besides, we don't have to convert that many delegates in order to prevent McCain from receiving the nomination on the first round of voting. It's quite possible. If you don't think so, do you have any better ideas?
Ok, if you put it that way
That makes sense.
What is this
Fly that keeps buzzing around here with no purpose. So insignificant that it barely warrants my attention.
I think someone said
that he is no longer campaigning but is still a candidate and can be voted for.
You are
Correct sir. Candidate and campaigning are two separate things. If her quite his candidacy he would be done. Suspend the campaign means no more cross country stumping/ trips. In one of those he is still a candidate for the presidency. I'll let you figure out which one Ron Paul said he was doing. Hint:Its on his old website!
End
He said he is "ending" his campaign.
Not quitting.
Not conceding.
Not suspending.
That clever, clever man used none of those words.
Which leaves open worlds of possibility.
The biggest world of which is, of course -- CampaignForLiberty.com!
(And if you're reading this and haven't yet signed up at C4L, get yourself over there NOW and do so. And donate, while you're at it!)
I thought "end" meant "it's
I thought "end" meant "it's over".
Now, "quit" has a negative connotation that isn't appropriate, but "end" is a word that's pretty final. It's doesn't mean "maybe". It doesn't mean "I'm undecided". It doesn't mean "I'm still in the game".
It means it's over...doesn't it? And if all he meant was the primary season was over, why did he say "after much serious thought, I have decided to end my campaign"?
I'm reading "I'm no longer a candidate--so support my Campaign for Liberty now, and we'll see you in September at OUR convention in St. Paul."

Right, and he really didn't
Right, and he really didn't end it, it was ended for him. Now we have to get all the anti-war and anti-msm and every other disenchanted group to join the Campaign for Liberty so we can all UNITE!!!
Signed
and done!
Excellent!
