Why was he in the IRR?? Is that a required step before a soldier can be totally out of the Army or was it his choice to stay in inactive duty?

Interesting, the article says hundreds are refusing to go back. I wish we could hear more military statistics like that.

you sign up for 4 years active, and 4 years of inactive. Inactive means you are the first to be called before they have to use a draft. Hope that helps.
