Ron Paul's Birthday VS George Bush's BirthdaySubmitted by honeybee on Fri, 06/20/2008 - 16:27
Today I received my preprinted, self-addressed, pre-stamped (with the urging to use my own stamp that I will not do) card and envelope to send George Bush a birthday wish. I WILL return the card with the enclosed message: "Ron Paul and only Ron Paul". That should make George's day.
Here is the letter from Laura Bush:
Birthday's are always special occasions in our family, when we gather with family and treasured friends to count our blessings.
During the past seven years, you have proven yourself to be a dedicated and loyal friend of the President through your support of his Administration and your steadfast commitment to the Republican Party.
On July 6th, George will turn 62 years old. As this is the last birthday he will celebrate in the White House, I need your help to make it truly meaningful.
Enclosed is a birthday card for you to sign and, if you choose, write the President a personal message.
I know he will enjoy receiving best wishes from friends like you who have stood with him through every challenge and success of his Presidency.
Your strong support of the RNC shows that you are as dedicated as President Bush is to keeping the White House in Republican hands and regaining our majorities in Congress.
I hope you will consider celebrating his birthday with a gift our entire Party can share, by returning your signed card to the RNC with a special donation of $62 or as much as you wish to give.
Please be as generous as you can. With less than six months until election day, your gift is vital to Republican victories.
The President and I are doing everything we can to support the RNC because no other Republican committee provides more strategic guidance, research, polling data, and direct financial assistance to our GOP candidates.
And as you may know, the RNC is the only Republican organization permitted by federal election law to directly support our Party's presidential nominee.
The RNC is also pioneering the use of new technologies to help voters learn about our Republican commitment to lower taxes, a strong national defense, limited government, and individual freedom.
Their campaign services are critical to countering the hundreds of millions of dollars liberal special interests will spend to try to elect a Democrat president and Congress this fall.
I am confident that with the generous support of grassroots leaders like you, our Party will be ready for the challenges ahead.
Please take a moment to sign and return your birthday card along with your special campaign contribution of $62, or even more, to the RNC today.
Your warm wishes mean so much to George and our family. I hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely, Laura Bush
I am sure as you read the letter, you found much to comment on. I know I did.
Now, Ron Paul's birthday is August 20. I suggest that the million+ of us each send him a birthday card. The address to his local office is 837 West Plantation, Clute, Texas 77531
Mark your calendar and write down the address because this thread will disappear very quickly. Send our hero a birthday wish.
This will draw no media attention, recruit no new patriots, bring in no money, but it will tell our living founding father that his birthday is very important to us.
