Paul statement lends some weight to the suspicion that he's going to ENDORSE BARR.

From an report and interview posted here: http://thefacts.com/story.lasso?ewcd=79d3d6fe371c8819

"As for whom Paul’s voters will support in November, he predicted many would get behind third party candidates Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party nominee and Paul’s “good friend” from Congress, and Constitution Party nominee Chuck Baldwin, an anti-war Christian pastor from Florida.

“I don’t think too many of them will vote for John McCain,” he said. “I think there’s a lot of support for Chuck Baldwin. He worked real hard for our campaign, so it’s going to be real hard for me to say I’m for Bob Barr.”"

My view:

This leads me to guess that he's "going to" endorse Barr. It's just going to be difficult because he likes Baldwin too. Sounds to me like he's in the process of mentally preparing himself to make a difficult announcement, if he makes one at all.

We already know he SUPPORTS BOTH Barr and Baldwin: "I think he's [Barr's] running a very important race, and I'm encouraging him. I haven't endorsed him, but he's saying the kind of things I like to be heard and said. I hope he does real well. But, we also have Chuck Baldwin who runs on the Constitutional Party. His views are very very close to mine, and he worked very hard in my campaign. So for me to pick one over the other is not easy. I hope they both together get a lot of votes." http://www.dailypaul.com/node/52615

Note that he doesn't say just above that he is not going to endorse Barr, but that he "hasn't." He's obviously leaving the door open for himself to do that.

Another interesting observation is that Dr. Paul has been expressing his appreciation for Baldwin working hard for his campaign. Expressing appreciation for someone is what people do prior to having to do something that hurts their feelings. All these things looks to me like a lead up to an endorsement of Barr.

(This is not to say that Barr didn't do some great things for Dr. Paul too, like this introductory speech: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lKt2s0LjUHY )

LOLz @ justcantgetitup

Um, how about no? As in, we're not going to vote for the jacka$$ that voted YES to pass the USA (un)Patriot Act.

Barr voted YES to strip away the protections of our rights that the US Constitution is supposed to provide.

You can lie and spin all you want, but it won't change that fact.

I'm sure if you try hard....real hard...you might be able to comprehend what I'm saying. C'mon now...you can do it...

Suspicion ???

Be carefull in your choice of words here. You never can tell you may enter that twilight zone that you want no part of without facts. You know, the "truthers" who you want nothing to do with. When you actually have the proof and facts before you present it. Not before as we will hold you to your demanding standards. Thank you in advance---Justcantgetenoughsupportforbarr.

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

why are we in such a hurry to endorse Barr

We have more political clout if we wait until November to decide what to do.

Endorse Barr?

Why are so many trying to second guess Ron Paul? The man himself will tell us soon enough.

MrTom

And just how much weight has

And just how much weight has he lent to this suspicion? About 42 picograms, from what I can tell --- in other words, little to none.

He will endorese....

No one person. Only their ideas. We will be on our own. That is what libertarianism is all about. Individual choices.

I think you are right that this context shows that it will be tough to endorse one over the other but..... you are dreaming if you think it means Barr wil be his guy.

Question to the Write in League.....

Do you really think Ron Paul will write him self in?

Doubt that think on it.

?'s

I only get on dailypaul in my spare time. It seems as if you live here...hum? Anyway, Barr is not and never will be Ron Paul. Some of what you said above is pure propaganda, and I am quite tired of that. Expressing appreciation etc..... Come on. I hope everyone is with me on this. I am not wearing rose colored glasses any longer, and it makes it pretty easy to see the good vs. the bad. I will vote with my mind and my conscience. I am not voting for Barr and I doubt if Ron Paul is either.

There seems to be

a war between Baldwin/Barr supporters as of late. The sad part is Baldwin is not on the ballot in many states, my pathetic state is one of them. I wish the Baldwin supporter's would move the argument as to how we can get both guys on all state ballots, that way we could have a short and simple apples to apples comparison of the 2 candidates. I don't think it would be a long debate but while we spend our idle time flaming each others posts instead of leveling the playing field the rest of us will suffer through this new endless war. So if I may ask you chipaugel, who do think is a good backup choice to Ron Paul? I say backup because anything can happen before November.

Get in touch with the

Get in touch with the Baldwin campaign and collect signatures for him. Pressure the local media to cover the campaign. He's not on the ballot in my state either but there is a sizable christian music and arts festival coming up that would be a good place to gather signors. I'm sure there are other similar activities elsewhere in the country.

The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!

I don't know about Barr,

but I support chemtrials. I love 'em. Whoever is doing them, they're doing a great job, and I'd like to see more.

Have you ever made the connection

of your breathing chemtrails to your delusion of thinking that the Barr campaign has much to do with what Ron Paul intends on achieving with the CFL? Just wondering.

I think Bobber's public image has been hurt quite enough without JustCan'tGetItUp's backing --- and without his eating of Borat's wife's titmilk cheese.

My 2 cents

The LSM has been all over Ron Paul lately and some have expressed their opinion that the RNC will not nominate McCain after all. Could it be Ron Paul believes it is too obvious now for the Republican elites to hope for a chance against the Dems without Paul? They know he won't take the VP and He has just put in place a national movement with a clear agenda. Maybe I'm just dreaming, maybe the media is overreacting to the continuous growth of his movement or maybe it all depends on September's rally. I don't know, I just don't think you can count him out when even He couldn't believe the size of this movement. You might argue the politicians are on the same team and don't care who is president, but what one man has vocal support in every state? Who is the only man picking the next generation of congressman, senators, govenors, etc. ? I think his odds are slim but then I never thought we would accomplish so much and continue to grow. So I think Ron may still believe that their is a chance. I certainly hope so.

I remember hearing some

I remember hearing some stupid MSM lady say maybe they'll back John McCain and puked in my mouth. Considering recent polls showing that Paul supporter will do anything but back McCain. I hope they reconsider their position. If they don't they're committing suicide. What they need to realize is that we have little other recourse no matter what they do. If they have a change of heart it will be time to strike while the iron's hot. If they do not it will be time to strike while the iron's hot. If they wanna dodge the iron, they're gonna have to throw him under the bus.

I listen to way too many AM talk shows

The crowd that gathers around Howie Carr and Rush (don't get the chance to listen often to Rush) are really upset with McCain and many are saying stay home on election day. The LSM can turn out all the stories they want, his support is pretty low. The primary crowd is very different than the base Republican who calls into shows like these. I don't think it will happen but if the whole area around Ron Paul's convention was booked up enough to make the news before the RNC, who knows maybe the several hundred RP delegates and the several thousand alternate delegate would stage a coup. I know my state, Massachusetts, will stand up the first round and half vote Rommeny, what many of you haven't heard is how many of them who are also free to vote as they please in the 2nd round are Ron Paul people. With what the people I hear are saying on the talk shows, I don't think for a second the Republicans hope the RP crowd will vote for them when many of their own will not.

Is this your attempt

to graduate in the art of spin doctor.... Justcangetenough, go and get a life!!

Nah noway

He will definetly support Baldwin before he supports Barr. But it dont matter the good Dr. is going to run third party watch and see, id put money on it. Why wouldnt he endorse a candidate unless he was going to himself run third party. The sooner he endorses a candidate the more his support will grow, but he didnt and he isnt going to endorse anyone. He will run third party.

I don't think so

He has said a hundred times that he's not planning it. It's way too late to start after the GOP convention. I think our best chance of real victory is to force a GOP loss by voting third party this year (or write-in Ron Paul if your state will count them). That way we make a clear statement on our issues, and Ron Paul gets a real shot at 2012 when it becomes crystal clear that the Republicans cannot win without our support.

Now if some miracle happens and Dr. Paul wins the nomination this time around, when all the signs say he won't, then we don't have to choose some lesser candate. Wonderful! But... I don't think so this time. We would need a serious game-changer for that to happen, like Hillary suddenly becoming the Dem candidate after all. Hillary is much more formidable than Obama in the general, IMO.

We are doing very well for only having had 18 months to prepare and learn. Imagine how powerful we will be four years from now, with the GOP trying to recover from a crushing defeat this fall... we just have to be patient. We are younger than they are, even if Dr. Paul is not. If his health continues to hold, we are golden next time. Especially if our chief foes will be Huckabee and Romney :)

In the meantime, we don't necessarily have to all vote for the same "minor" candidate. The numbers will speak for themselveshe end . There will be plenty of commentary on where all the Ron Paul votes went (besides the write-ins that were actually counted), if they go outside the 2 parties in the first place.

In that same interview he

In that same interview he said he might endorse later in the fall. But since he said, "I hope they both get a lot of votes." I gotta believe him. he started the Campaign for Liberty and he said, "I hope they both get a lot of votes." But why? Could it be that both these campaigns are important to his campaign for liberty?

As soon as Paul dropped out it quit being about winning the POTUS. I think what he doesn't want is a double loss. Meaning neither McCain nor Obama can win the election.

I've never had to "read

I've never had to "read into" any of Ron Paul's statements. I don't think that was a hint that he'll support Barr.

who cares? haha, the only

who cares?

haha, the only people who care are the Baldwin and Barr supporters who continue to bicker over which loser candidate they should get behind....

I'm supporting Ron Paul (if that means I don't vote, then fine....).

hmmm

I'm not sure about this...
I get what you're saying emotionally -
but I think RP wants us all to vote for someone other than
the 2 major parties ....
just to show numbers actually going out and specifically voting either
for something or at least voting against the republicrats.
I really sense he would like to see a record number of protest votes
this election.
(and yes, I still think after Sept sometime he is going to endorse Baldwin)

Nice.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

I Will be Disappointed if Dr. Paul Endorses Anyone

Dr. Paul thinks in terms of philosophy. He realizes maintaining ones principles very often means not being on the winning side. He is a humble man who believes in his heart that the function of a leader should be minimal. His personal philosophy is to avoid telling others what to do.

We are the Revolution. There doesn't need to be a LEADER. Spread the message. It's not about this election cycle. In two years there will be a Congressional election. How many people can we expose to the message in two years? How about for the next Presidential election? Local elections are held regularly.

Dr. Paul will be our leader by example. I live in Texas and by the election laws write in votes for Dr. Paul will not be counted. It's a "sore loser law". I will still write him in. I will continue to spread the message.
