Now that I am inside the GOP as a PC, several republicans running for State office have called me or emailed me asking me to drive support their way.

Several things bothered me right away about Wess Waddle - yes thats his name. He called me and asked me to "get out the vote for him as the republican challenger" to a democrat in State government.

I asked him to tell me what his issues where. I asked him if he had a website.

He said, "I don't have a website explaining the issues, I am just using door to door campaigning and talking to all the Republicans that I can, starting with the PC's because you guys know your neighborhoods best".

I said, "No website in 2008?"

And he said, well I am waiting to receive "Clean Elections Campaign Money".... [which is tax money to run your campaign]. He also said he would like to get the mining industry $700,000 to "invest" in productivity and thus "increasing tax moneys that the Arizona can receive because of it, its really a good investment. We need better schools. We need a better ID system and wall to stop the Mexican immigrants".

I asked him how long he had lived in Arizona. He said 3 years. He was from Ohio and New Jersey, 51, family man, "loves Gawd and traditional values".

I said, "Well I am a native Arizonan. We conservatives in Arizona are proud of Barry Goldwater. We have the Goldwater Institutive - are you familiar with them? Arizona is the state that voted for Steve Forbes because of his 15% flat tax. Arizona is the state that says, you can carry a gun openly or concealed. Arizona is the state that said "NO" to a national MLK Holiday, not because we dislike blacks or Martin Luther King, it was because we did not want to give State workers another PAID HOLIDAY. We now have an MLK holiday because we wanted to host the Super Bowl. We worked hard but failed to stop taxpayer supported Super Arenas for billionaire Sports owners. We failed, but the point is we don't like tax money used for private industry. Get it? When you call republicans like me, you should know that we worked hard to stop the democrats implement tax payer paid political campaigns---We still want "Clean Elections" abolished."

He said "Oh"

I said, "We in the R3VOLution are funding our own Republicans who understand this."

He said, "I thought Ron Paul quit."

I said, "He started the Campaign for Liberty. The revolution will never die. So you want to become a State congressmen to give the mining industry some of our tax money? Do you realize Arizona congressman only get paid $24,000 per year? Do you realize that half our Arizona budget is controlled by Washington?"

He said, "how is that?"

I said, "Because States like us have bent over each time the Feds want something. When the Feds want the States to do something, they threaten withholding "federal funds". In Arizona the legal drinking age was 18. The Feds threatened to withhold freeway funds if we did not raise it to 21. We raised it. Each and every time the Feds want something the State of Arizona bends over. Its time we have Arizona Congressman who will call the Feds hand, not bend to the blackmail. Pay the price even. Its time Arizona stood up as a State. We just did by rejecting the Real ID. The Real ID is a step towards a Fascist State. Every Conservative should be against that. Further, Republican congressman in our state seem to just work for the big corporate interests because $24,000 is not much."

He said, "Oh well ...I was thinking the the Real ID would stop all the illegals. Don't you want to stop the illegals?"

I said, "Well we just voted 51-2 against the Feds Real ID. The Governor signed it. Arizona is against it. So am I. Further, I hire illegals to climb the 4 palm trees in my yard once a year. Those palm trees are about 4 stories tall. They are really dirty, hard to trim all the palm branches back. Nasty dirty work. The pigeons love to nest up there. And its usually about 110 degrees out when they do it. Takes about 2 hours. Very dangerous should they fall. But they never do. I never get white guys knocking on my door to do the job. So, you really think a fence is the answer? I don't. I think the libertarian Blue Card is the answer. Further I don't like the idea of a fence, especially when we may have a rouge CIA doing false flag operations, especially when we have the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act. Do you get my point? If they can lock people out, they can lock people in. http://www.infowars.com/?p=2791"

Then he asked me,"So how many are you out there? I thought the Ron Paul people where just wack, 9/11 tin foil hat people. But you have not said one thing about a Conspiracy. Sure I am friends with the mining industry, why should I not be? If we get rid of laws on the mining industry, get them going again, Arizona's government will have more money to work with, more money for schools. Don't you Ron Paul people want better public schools?"

I said, "I don't think we want the government in the School business at all. Why would we want to increase public funding? Further, the State of Arizona has State land, and all the State land that gets sold is supposed to go for new Schools . Where is that money?"

He then asked me, "Could you send me a list of the Goals & Objectives that are in the Revolution?".

I said, "Sure, I would be glad too"

Now I am just one of many inside this R3VOLution. So give me your 1 thru 20 list. Make them short as possible. We can average or blend them into one master list.

Here are the goals and objectives we seek.

1) Reduce government back to its morally just functions:
Police, Military & Courts.
2) Abolish the income tax; both State & National
3) End the US empire and protect this country
4) Increase the number and size of Voluntary Organizations of America. Examples are: Little Leagues of America, Boy & Girl Scouts of America, The YMCA, The United Way, The Red Cross, The March of Dimes, etc As we decrease Governments influence in our social lives, we need to increase this peaceful and voluntary segment of our society. Indeed, it could take over many functions that the government does. There is no reason each park could not have its own chapter of "Concern Park Protectors". Let the imagination run.
5) Abolish government monopoly on Education.

Please make up your own list. Number them 1 thru 25.

I will appreciate all the help you can give to this. Then when its done I will summarize it, compile the list, and send it to Wess Waddle.

How soon they forget.

You have a right to your opinion about immigration and border security, but don't try to confuse it with Ron Paul's stance on these issues. I am frankly surprised with comments by you and others that seem to indicate that you are not familiar with what he has said about illegal immigration and what our response as a nation should be. (His opposition against the Real ID, with which I am in complete agreement, is not and has never been presented as a pro-immigrant issue.)

Quote from RonPaul2008.com issues page:

The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked. This is my six point plan:

* Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
* Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
* No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
* No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
* End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
* Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

I'm sorry if this isn't compatible with your particular flavor of libertarianism, but it is certainly in harmony with the constitution and should be with the majority of Ron Paul supporters.

Who are you behind

Was it not Obama, last we heard? Answer who your chosen candidate is and then we can make an intelligent answer to your question.

Victory.

Yes on another thread I discussed the two choices, Obama and McCain and found that FOR US IN THE REVOLUTION, an Obama presidency would be good for US. Notice how hard it is to fight the GOP republicans about Bush? It will be just as hard with a President McCain. Yet with a President Obama, many republicans will join our cause. Come 2012, we will be stronger, thanks to the Obama Presidency getting rank n file republicans on our side. And we need more rank n file republicans to join us, its a numbers game. But we will not forget these republicans are rhinos and fair weather friends who would support big govt as soon as it suits them.

As too balwin and barr and nader.... I am uninspired. I can't help but yawn.

Ok, so now from what I can discern

I guess you were and ardent Ron Paul supporter but you don't trust that he could actually still have a chance and it is a foregone conclusion between McCain and Obama so between those two you are thinking Obama would take you closer to your stated goals. As you know though, since following RP his goal is to return our country to a Constitutional Republic, which of course would take care of our current issues such as undeclared wars, IRS, doing away with the FEDs, printing our own backed currency, repealing any acts or agencies that violate our rights. Anything less than that will be a bandaid and the stampede towards the plan of NWO will continue. My chosen goals are exactly what RP has said are his. I see from your list that those are not your stated goals so they would not be called "our"goals. You need to make your own choice but remember we have a lot of time between now and November so I don't understand why you feel a need to switch to anyone different right now that has nothing to do with what your goals used to be with RP who still has a chance.

From what you can "discern"?

Am I that vague? I am not switching to anyone. I am 100% behind Ron Paul, but his campaign has ended, in case you have not heard. More over, I am for the Revolution even more so than simply the Man, Ron Paul. I recall David Berglund, Ed Clark, and Harry Browne, all great and wonderful champions of the freedom message like Ron Paul. You should have heard Mr. Harry Browne take on NeoCon scholar/pundant Dr. Dinesh D'Souza at the www.freedomfest.com several years ago, fighting about preemptive war and the invasion of Iraq. Truly a masterful speaker. Perhaps Ron Paul is your first libertarian politician you've known? Anyway, by 2012 we in the Revolution will have our "new Ron Paul". The Revolution is not about the Man, its about the message.

Also you write, "My chosen goals are exactly what Ron Paul has said are his. I see from your list that those are not your stated goals..."

Nothing could be further from the truth. Since you say your goals and objectives are RP's, please list them 1- thru 25 or so. Lets compare notes.

Just trying to connect your dots I guess

Lets not beat a dead horse, I guess we are on seperate pages of what you are after. You say "and found that for us in the revolution an Obama presidency would good for us". I would say that you have switched support from Ron Paul ( no, he has not quit anything except actively campaigning which has been explained numerous times) to Obama. Second, I have listed my goals for you that are the same as RP. I don't think it is necessary to numerate them. Third, there is very little of what you have listed that is on line with what I listed so as I said, it would not be "our" goals. For instance, I could care less about expanding on the Little League of America.LOL Go after what you think is important Treg.

Victory, I have enjoyed your

Victory, I have enjoyed your previous comments, but don't you think it is really too early to have a candidate yet? This is the time to be furthering the Campaign for Liberty. There is still much to sort out.... Bob Barr and his vote in favor of the Patriot Act. Chuck Baldwin, (still my second favorite, after Ron Paul of course), and his lack of voting history and the wariness of some with regard to religion and politics. And all the other 3rd candidate ideas we have been debating. It's only June.

I like this thread and think it is one of the best that we have had recently. I have absolutely no doubt that Treg's only goal is to further the R3volution. He has worked tirelessly for Ron Paul. I feel lucky that he is with us. I welcome any ideas that try to help spread Ron Paul's message.

Hi there Realdeal

I wasn't knocking his questions, I was sincerely wondering if he was the same person who had decided on switching to supporting and voting for Obama. Maybe I was thinking of another person, I don't know and that is why I asked. Since some candidates are like comparing apples and oranges to answer what our goals, objectives and platform would depend on which direction you want to head out on. Whatever Treg chooses is his right to do so. He seems sincerely intent on doing what he believes is the right thing, but "our" goals may have nothing in common with each other.

Being against the Real ID is fine and dandy (and quite in harmony with the Ron Paul campaign's issues statements.)

But since when is making a mockery of our nation's immigration laws and undermining our national sovereignty by encouraging illegal aliens to cross our borders part of "our" platform? The constitution gives Congress, not you the right to determine American citizenship!

I'm sorry if you're having trouble cleaning out your pigeon nests, but I would appreciate it if you would not enable criminals to break the laws of MY country to do it.

******************************
The Virtual Conspiracy

A legal law abiding "Puritan" are we ? Spacehabitats?

So you drove 55mph this morning? Never break a law do you? Never? I bet there are some you do break. Perhaps the ones restricting your freedom?

In much the same way as the DRUG WAR is a war upon your freedom, so is the IMMIGRATION WAR a war on your right to hire and fire you dam well please.

American citizens are not "Union employees" in which you can only hire them. I refuse to be a Human ZOO animal confined and FENCE INSIDE to this nation's borders.

Violations to our Sovereignty is often claimed. Yet how does one violate "Sovereignty"? If I leave Arizona and go to California, have I violated California's sovereignty? No. Am I now under that states traffic laws, tax laws, courts, etc? Yes. If I and a million other Americans leave to live in Mexico's Cabo San Lucas, have we violated Mexico's sovereignty? Of course not. But if we refuse to submit to its courts, demand USA only laws over us, then we are in effect annexing a whole legal jurisdiction over to the USA. So sovereignty only gets violated if the nation of Mexico picks up its border with the USA and carries it inside the USA. Thats not happening. What is happening is way too many are coming here, making assimilation slow to nil. So as Ron Paul says, its the incentives we must address and look at--- while preserving our natural freedoms too!

The Solution:

If the INS checked ids, and allowed millions of peaceful people to enter and leave this country, it would be a "free country". To the extent that they do not allow anyone in they have created yet another black market, this time in people. This is as insane as the Drug War. Legalize both drugs and open -- but secure -- borders. The problem is that Govt has failed to both ID and check those entering, and stop the massive influx of people -- all pining for the day of amnesty and citizenship--- why? Because with citizenship or at least a Green Card they can LEAVE AGAIN. They can come and go as they wish. This is why the Libertarian Blue Card solution is so much better. This is why Dr. Paul was against giving incentives, welfare or other wise, exactly what the Blue Card would deny it holder. This is why Dr. Paul was NOT for a Berlin Wall, or Iron Curtain, because he also believes a Free Society is a society that allows for free -- and secure---immigration and emigration.

So hang your hat on the fact that zero immigration is the policy from the the USA, making sure everyone peaceful job seeking human being is "illegal". But ask yourself, if the Federal government did a 180, and totally LEGALIZED everyone who came over, would that be suddenly OK with you? Hey, its "legal". No it would not. And why not? Because what you seek is what I seek, a thoroughly rational and reasonable immigration policy that makes coming and going relatively easy, with background checks and makes welfare NOT an incentive or benefit. With such a policy, the flood of Mexican Americans would go down. In the 60's, 70's Mexican Americans did not stay in the USA. But in the 80's, farmers lost the battle and the borders closed, causing a rush to stay where the jobs where. They continued to come in the 90's. Then when Clinton gave us NAFTA and Amnesty, still more came, and came to stay because going back was way too difficult. No my friend, the immigration issue is YET ANOTHER major Government Cause "problem". In the meantime, those anti-Mexican forces think that they can tell me and you who we Can and Cannot hire and fire. The last time I checked, Arizona was a right to work state. Forcing employers to Identify their workers via a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER and REPORTING who they have chosen to hire is the FIRST STEP in fascist American Control over YOU and ME and everyone else.

Remember this, If they build a wall to Keep THEM out, that wall will keep YOU INSIDE. I for one REFUSE to be a HUMAN ZOO ANIMAL living on these national islands. I am a Free Human Being, with the inalienable Rights of Man that come NOT From my Government, but by the fact I am a HUMAN BEING.

Where in the Constitution does it say "illegal immigration"?

Doesn't the Statue of Liberty welcome people with:

"Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Where does it say they have to get INS approval? Many libertarians advocate an open border / no welfare policy.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

The Statue of Liberty?!?

The Statue of Liberty is a statue and the poem is a poem. Neither of them were created or authorized by our founding fathers or the constitution.

Are you saying that our nation has no right to define its borders or its citizenship?!?

As Ron Paul explains in The Revolution no nation can have a welfare state AND unlimited immigration at the same time.

In case you hadn't noticed, we do live in a welfare state, and illegal immigrants and their dependents are helping to bleed us dry.

If you ignore that part of the Ron Paul platform you are just another New World Order groupie playing into the hands of the global fascists.

Good job "Truthers". Strategy and patience aren't your strong suits, are they? Not many chess players our there it seems.

For you Treg:

6.) Free and open borders (however, NO FREE education, health care, job placement services, housing, welfare, translation services, transportation, etc.) -- those that can't "make it" will naturally return to their homes

7.) An end to the fluoridation of the public water supply. Nothing shall be added to the water supply that does not directly involve its potability.

BTW, the Federal Government's three roles are: coinage of money (gold and silver), signing of international treaties, and protection against foreign invasion and piracy.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Fluoride

Heh-heh.

Whack job!
Do you want us to be marginalized?

See how easy it is?

Fluoride isn't a conspiracy theory.

Doof.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

So YOU say.

The rest of the country thinks fluoride is just fine, and they like it in their water.
Great for their teeth, so they've been told.
And the local gov'ts are putting it in there to help them.
If you "warned" the average sheeple about fluoride being bad, it is likely that they'll consider you a whack job.

Would the gov't deceive them about that?
Is there something they aren't telling us?
Why would they charge us money to put fluoride in our water, if there was something that wasn't good about it?

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed, are ya?

Iodine in salt must be a conspiracy too? How about vitamin D in milk?

If something is occurring that it is common knowledge (the key here is "common knowledge"), and a generally accepted fact, it isn't a conspiracy. Just because a group is ignorant about a subject, does not make that subject a conspiracy.

I don't accept that the rest of the country thinks it's just fine. Matter of fact, except for my state, many localities are putting an end to the practice.

The fact of the matter is the truthers could have had their wildest dreams come true with the election of Dr. Paul but instead chose to sing like canaries. Some of you have family members who don't even agree with you yet you're going to convert America. Instead of biting your tongue until November, you marginalized the whole movement and achieved nothing.

1. Teach the Constitution 2. Obey the Constitution 3. Teach the Bill of Rights
4. Obey the Bill of Rights 5. Shoot Lobbyists (just kidding) limit their access to individual law makers if want to be heard must be made through public forum. 6. Restore open government and HONEST ELECTIONS 7. Make schools of choice with public access to curriculum and test scores. 8. Website to government schedule of bills before them what the wording of the bills are and who is voting how and why. 9. Require all bills to be read by those voting on them, hopefully, this would encourage making bills easier to read and understand rather than confusing on purpose. 10. Abolish income taxes 11. Encourage voluntarism that educates citizens on their rights and responsibilities. 12. Law that would make it illegal for anyone other than the elected official to write a law. (no more special interests writing our laws.) 13. Those running for reelection have published their voting record could be on gov. website so citizens can see if they were consistent with what they promised to do. 14. Gov. website that would display all those running and their platform it would help those who do not have big bucks to at least get their platform out there. 15. Stop Fed from forcing state governments to implement programs they do not want. 16. Cut red tape and simplify rules for running for office or being involved in voting process. 17. Before elections each community provides access to candidates so they may hear them and see them at least once, say at their city hall or park. 18. Veterans have access to any doctor not just Veteran hospitals. 19. Legalize drugs 20. Those on welfare do workfare such as yard care, janitorial, baby sitting, senior sitting to earn salary.

Yes

Sheriff is critical.
Also, look into the Constable office as well.
In jurisdictions which allow a Constable, he is authorized with unusually strong powers over government officials, even though the office is typically marginalized as "unimportant". And that's probably why they want to marginalize it.

In general, elected officials are preferred over appointed ones.
Get people accountable to the voter base.
Push for very open accounting and verifiability of election activity.
Fiscal responsibility is just as important locally as federally, so that can be pushed locally too.
As you mentioned in your first post, it's important to try to wean them off the Fed Gov tit. They should learn how not to get pushed around.
Work against the forfeiture gambit that the LE agencies like to live off of. They are supposed to work for the people, not victimize them.
Promote judges that hold warrant issues to high standards of proof.
Work on school choice that is not publicly funded. Promote home schooling as a way to lower property taxes.
Fight against federal takeovers of land and water rights. Keep your physical property rights intact against the encroachments.
Reduce business regulations on small business in your area to promote competitiveness and improve the economy locally.
Fight monopolies of cable and telco companies. Work for competition.
Eliminate stupid agencies like zoning code enforcement and crap like that.

Just a few things off the top of my head.

This is a real key issue you're into Treg.

You are in a position to influence other candidates that could conceivably be brought into our camp, even if only slowly.

This needs to be thought out from a PR standpoint, where it doesn't gag them on first taste.

1) Fiscal responsibility!
This is the biggest one. Drive it home. Anybody can grab on to this one
Balanced budget is an easy one, and sound money and reduced taxation.
It's the economy, stupid!
Income tax elimination is already an open topic, and work on that one too.

This was RP's main topic and he worked it well.
Constitutional practices and sound money and fiscal responsibility are ideas that any real American can get behind without controversy. And it encompasses so many aspects that it can be used as leverage to reduce things like military spending, reduce social spending, eliminate corporate welfare, eliminate foreign aid, eliminate pork, government departments and agencies, reduce the burden of over-regulation and free-up business to operate, etc, etc.,

At this juncture, monetary policy and debt are so big on the scene that it is impossible for them to ignore. And it's a great lever to open up their thinking about why any agency should exist for the money it costs. RP works this angle like a charm.

I'll leave it at that, and read what others can recommend.

This is what it's all about man...

your not half bad yourself....you really repeat Paul verbetum...you've done your homework and it shows...IMHO
