My Reasons for discomfort ........
As a Deist (some of our founding fathers were also deists) I am uncomfortable with the Christian language the Constitution party and Mr. Baldwin use - second, I know Mr. Baldwin supports medicinal marijuana as far as a state right is concerned, but I havent seen or heard anything about him ending the "war on drugs" , and the CP says this - "We support legislation to stop the flow of illegal drugs into these United States from foreign sources. As a matter of self-defense, retaliatory policies including embargoes, sanctions, and tariffs, should be considered." Which does nothing to make me feel any better.....and my 3rd problem is the CP's desire to ban gambling and save me from myself - "Gambling promotes an increase in crime, destruction of family values, and a decline in the moral fiber of our country." thats right from their website, and again just makes me uncomfortable.
All this being said, I support all of you in your support of Mr. Baldwin, as he is 1000x better than the Republicrat offerings ( and Im still hoping for a Ron Paul takeover at our convention!!!)

thank you for sharing those links. Looks like there will be a lot of people there on July 12, 2008, and that is awesome. The more I hear, and see Baldwin, the more I like him. He seems just as sincere as Ron Paul.

I see honesty and sincerity when I hear Chuck Baldwin. Dr. Paul Im sure would feel the same. But I doubt he will endorse either Dr Baldwin or Bob Barr. Since hes a Republican it may hurt the Revolution that is trying to take back the Republican party from the NeoCons who hijacked it and return it to its roots..

I go to DC every year, it's not so scary. One of my favorite places.
Need a place to stay? Try a youth hostel -- people of all ages stay there and they're cheap. Try the YHA website.
For Godsakes, don't let fear stop you.

I have a question, and I'm
I have a question, and I'm completely neutral on tis, but why do so many of you rail on the Bob Barr people and then turn around and make so many Baldwin posts?
Really, I don't know much about either Baldwin or Barr... (but please don't barrage me... I don't really care about either).
For me, if Ron Paul isn't on the ballot I'll either vote for whichever of these guys is on the ballot in my state, or not vote at all.

Well if you want them on your ballot you're going to have to fight for it. Barr is probably in the strongest position right now. but the March could be a big boost for Baldwin if it goes as I suspect it will.
I sort of think that maybe we aren't supposed to like Barr. Myself I can look beyond a single issue. But for many it is the only issue. What they fail to realize is that for many a sheeple out there. They think the Patriot Act is no big deal. So who does Barr appeal to? Sheeple-cons that's who and I say great. Anything to derail their migration to McCain by default. Baldwin has more appeal to Paul worshipers and hopefully, evangelicals and the Christian right. Furthermore since Paul stated on national television he could pull Obama supporters, people are going to ask themselves if that is true and they are going to have to ask why. Making Barr and Baldwin's names synonymous with Paul's gives people a path to gleam down as they try to figure out how to get back there, back before Obama snowed them in and Paul dropped out.
By keeping issues on the table we are challenging Obama, even if only spiritually and not in any race. The presence of Barr and/or Baldwin in the debates keeps issues on the table. Even if we never solidify our voting block or they have ballot access problems eliminating any possibility of a win. It's still important to have a presence. To represent for representing. The LP and the CP could grow more in the next year than all other years combined. Hopefully giving them the critical mass to go mainstream. Then in 2010 we have instant leverage that we have been building on since last year. That is a lot of time to prepare for midterms.
Myself, I'm not religious and even have issues with the CP platform. But I may collect signatures for Baldwin just because.

I see you probably dont visit this site much. or maybe Im wrong. Some Barr trolls like BillyDee and justcantgetenough were promoting Barr while Ron Paul was still running and Bob Barr put an ad lying and saying that we should support him because Ron Paul dropped out. I bet you no one was pushing for Baldwin untill after the good Doc dropped out and the DP became filled with Barr posts. Since Baldwin also dosent have Barr's money or support. Since he is the son of this movement who was with us in the front lines campaigning for the good Doctor in the South and since Ron Paul said BAldwin is closer to him. Me and many others decided to post about Dr Baldwin. Also since Barr's VP said Ron Paul is a terrorist appologist and like the blame America 1st crowd I am trying to educate people on what theyre getting into

Speaking for myself
Speaking for myself, I really don't have much problem with the mention of either candidate here --- to a point. But when troll-shills like JustCan'tGetItUp barrage us with it at every turn, and post thread after thread for one or the other, then it IS a problem. Plus, his posts are not well-meaning or serious, but mostly just spread division, half-truths and distractions. It's as much how he says what he says, as much as it is what he is saying.
My State
unfortunately does not allow write-ins ...
so unless something drastic happens for our first choice RP ...
I will deffinately vote Constitution Party - Chuck Baldwin 2008.
