JIHADIST AGREEMENT IN PAKISTAN LEADS TO SURGE OF VIOLENCE IN AFGHANISTAN

AP reported this week that rival jihadist groups in Pakistan have agreed to work together to fight against NATO and US forces in Afghanistan.

The meeting of some 300 jihadist fighters took place in early June in Rawalpindi -- a military garrison city where the headquarters of the Pakistani army is based.

AP correspondent Kathy Gannon tells RFE/RL that most of the militants were from Islamist groups launched years ago with clandestine support from Pakistans security services in order to fight Indian troops in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.

Rival jihadists at the meeting agreed to resolve their differences, Gannon says, and, instead, send their fighters into Afghanistan to fight NATO and US forces.

Gannon says that mujahedin groups such as the Al-Badr group, as well as Al-Qaeda-linked groups like Jaish-e Mohammad and Lashkar-e Tayyaba, "both of which are banned organizations but whose fighters are still out and about. There was also Hezb-ul Mujahedin there."

Press TV - Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar says the Israeli regime is no match for the organized and skilled armed forces of Iran.

"Modern weapons are not the only defense criteria… The willpower and support of Iranians is very important," said Brigadier General Mohammad-Najjar on Sunday.

Israel will not be able to match Iran's defensive capabilities and has therefore launched psyops against Tehran, Najjar suggested.

He was referring to recent reports indicating that Israel has launched a military maneuver over the Mediterranean to rehearse for an aerial strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.

Najjar added that Tel Aviv is a 'mass producer of weapons of mass destruction' and such reports only signal its 'weakness and desperation'.

Israel accuses Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program and demands the country abandon its uranium enrichment. Tehran, however, insists its nuclear activities are aimed at providing fuel for its under-construction power plants.

A former senior Israeli general, Isaac Ben-Israel, claimed on Saturday that Tel Aviv is capable of carrying out a 'successful' aerial strike on Iranian nuclear sites at any time.

Brig. Gen. Najjar, however, warned that Iran is fully prepared to counter any act of aggression.

Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commander Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari said on Saturday that Israel is within 'the range of Iran's missiles', warning that Tehran would use all possible means to repel any attack on its soil.

could well be the case, as Seymour Hersh reported, is that there is an "inofficial war" on the ground in Iran already going on, but the media does not know about it or keep silent. Probably not full out war, but some "actions". It would be bad for McCain if Bush officially attack now. What they will do is to try to provoke Iran to react to a US military action, without the media knowing that the US had such an action, and then report on the reaction of Iran and play this as an attack and reason to "retaliate" against Iran, or come up with some "evidence". The fightening things is Bush/Cheney do apparently not trust the reports by the CIA, that Iran has no nuclear program.

I think we're reaching the tip of the iceberg already. We're already at the top of the mountain, fasten your seat belts and let's hold on tight, we may be plummiting before we know it. Not trying to scare anybody here, just what I think is really happening. Let's all pray for freedom and peace because we don't know what will happen. At least we're going to go through this together (at least I'm willing to go through this with all of you).

RED ALERT: BUSH PLANS TO ATTACK IRAN BEFORE LEAVING OFFICE

If the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Congress show the same gutless cowardice they did when President Bush ordered the illegal attack on Iraq without the required congressional declaration of war, this pathological, sociopath of a president will order an attack on Iran in cooperation with Israel before Bush is due to leave office, providing that current diplomatic efforts with Iran fail.

Look, this is not an alert sent out by that phony “Sorcha Faal” or any of the other hoax-artists. This is coming from Carl Worden and the Southern Oregon Militia, and our national intelligence gathering has reached the point we cannot ignore the data we are receiving about this pending attack.

All the planning and preparation is in the works, and our military is poised to carry out the attack if ordered – right now.

While we realize the threat Iran presents to Israel and the stability of the Middle East, including the threat Iran presents in potentially blocking the Strait of Hormuz and all oil transports that pass through it to the Western nations, this pending attack is being accelerated by the Bush Administration because they know Barack Obama will likely be elected president and that he will take a much more moderate position in dealing with Iran. The Bush Administration believes such a moderate approach will lead to the total annihilation of Israel by her neighbors and that only a massive military, mostly airborne attack on Iran will prevent that scenario from playing out.

Unless our Congress finds its testicles and our military commanders refuse to follow these illegal orders, we see this attack being carried out no later than November 1st, and probably within 45 days earlier – based upon the level of preparedness we are now aware of. In truth, and based upon the military readiness we are informed of, the attack on Iran could conceivably be ordered within the next two weeks.
