Obama-Paul is a winner in November!

I haven't written anything on this site for several months but just had to write about the possibility of a fusion ticket. I am not the most politically knowledgeable person, but it seems that it would be a stroke of genius for Barack Obama to choose Ron Paul as his running mate. Below is a letter I sent to the Obama campaign. I would be interested in reading the thoughts of Paulites on this forum. Thanks.

Dear Obama Campaign:
I just wanted to write to someone close to Barack and let you know of an idea I have concerning the coming campaign. I think it would be an ingenious move if Barack Obama were to name Rep. Ron Paul as his running mate. Obama and Paul have garnered the most excitement and support for their respective campaigns. We know that Obama is going to receive alot of support from the liberal voters in the country, but wouldn't it be a coup de tat for him to garner the support of conservatives as well. By choosing Ron he would not lose any of his well-deserved support while he would have the chance to gain republican voters which just a few years ago seemed unimaginable for a democrat. As you probably know there are many republicans who feel betrayed by the current administration. A Paul selection would be Obama's method of tapping into this discontent. I know there are many issues Barack and Ron don't agree on, but the central issue of war and peace should take precedence for the good of the country. Barack could also claim the high ground by putting forward a bipartisan ticket. He would also inherit the energy of the Ron Paul Revolution, which would be a force to reckon with in election.
