Ron Paul: In loving memory of Kent Snyder

June 29th, 2008 by Ron Paul

The Freedom Movement has suffered a great loss. Kent Snyder, chairman of my presidential campaign, lost his tragic battle with pneumonia last week. Kent was a true lover of liberty. He was an American patriot. He was my friend. And, he will be missed.

Kent was a gentle man who carried himself with quiet dignity. While soft spoken, great inner strength lay behind his kind blue eyes. He was filled with conviction, and principles of decency, loyalty and respect ran to his core. Those fortunate enough to work closely with Kent were touched by his integrity and old-fashioned American work ethic. Stories of his youth in Kansas and lessons taught to him by his two greatest influences, his mother and father, were often shared with friends and colleagues. During difficult times, Kent was always a calm at the center of the storm.

I first met Kent in 1987 when he, as a young man in his late 20’s, served on my first presidential run. Continue at the Campaign for Liberty blog.

In Memory

I remember seeing Kent in the first videos from New Hampshire during exploratory. My impression was exactly as Ron Paul described him in his letter. The friendship was evident as the two modestly intelligent men drove to events in rental cars. I’m sure he is also missed in Washington D.C. and Kansas.

In heavenly peace,

What is pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a lung infection that can make you very sick. You may cough, run a fever, and have a hard time breathing. For most people, pneumonia can be treated at home. It often clears up in 2 to 3 weeks. But older adults, babies, and people with other diseases can become very ill. They may need to be in the hospital.

Oh man I feel terrible. I

Oh man I feel terrible. I got Kent's autograph along with Ron Paul's when I met them. Rest in peace, Kent. Thank you for your work and dedication.

Peace. Thank you for all you have done.

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

i wonder if ron would consider

I wonder if ron would consider the final version of the campaign for liberty effort to be renamed..something like

The Kent Snyder Foundation for Liberty

After the man that got ron paul to run for president and was by his side during the entire journey

Be at peace, Kent

...you have earned it.

I carried an increasing case of bronchitis (liquid lung mucus) for 8 years since I contracted pnuemonia (which becomes turberculolsis if the mucus in the lungs solidifies and causes rampant infection) but thank goodness I was revealed a remedy two weeks ago...from a RP supporter, no less!

Acupuncture, coupled with ginseng/gecko tablets from Health Concerns (http://www.healthconcerns.com) and R&R. Honestly, it works.

Kent was a fighter, so I don't think R&R was in his playbook, but it may have been the difference. How you fare depends on your playbook. Look in your phone book for a licensed Ac and get on the road to quick recovery.

Did he have cancer?

What that why his head was bald? It seems like a healthy individual shouldn't die from just pneumonia,,,

Yes, pneumonia can be very serious

Yes, pneumonia can be very serious esp. if the immune system become compromised such as the very old, young, or sick.

A cooworker died a few months ago due to pneumonia. He had gone in to the doctor for one condition that required antibiotics and when he had a bad reaction to the antibiotics his immune system became too weak. He developed pneumonia and it just got worse and worse. The problem in that case was the reaction to the antibiotics and the inability to find any medicines that would fight the infection. (most medicines help the body fight and don't actually work without your immune system).

It is sad to see this fighter for liberty go...

Damn

I am very sorry to hear this.

Rest in peace dear sir.

Take care of yourself

Eat raw or juice for a while and then don't fall off of it fast. Keep your thoughts in the right place. Just take care of yourself.

My sincere condolences go out to the Snyder Family..May He R.I.P

So sad to hear a fellow Patriot pass away...my prayers go out to the Snyder's.

Dear Dr. Paul

My heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your good friend, Kent Snyder. I did not know him personally but I know we have all lost a true patriot and friend of liberty.

God Bless to all his loved ones and friends at this most difficult time.

Sincerely,
Karin B.

I know this is not the time,

I know this is not the time, nor the place to criticise Snyder's work on Paul's campaign for the presidency, but I will say his death seems like a great personal loss for Dr. Paul and his team. I'm sorry for his family.

I am still in shock.

And yes you can die from the complications of pneumonia. It sounds like Kent worked so hard. My heart goes out to his friemds and family...he walks with God now.
