Bob Barr Money Bomb Today?
I donated some. I want the news to talk about another money bomb and I want them to be talking about at least a 4 way race.
I held back personally on the amount of cash because Barr has not yet said how he would vote if he were a state legislator on various issues. Saying "I would put it to the states to decide" is not necessarily libertarian. Socons have been saying that for decades since they've realized that they can no longer enforce their will on the entire country (for instance banning premarital sex or strip clubs or whatever).
But no matter how much Bob Barr might not be a real libertarian, if McCain feels he has all Republican votes tied up that he needs, we are all going to lose big-time.
Consider donating to Barr in order to force McCain to chose Sanford as his VP.
I was happy to see that Barr (at least as representative of the Libertarian Party) is polling at 5% in North Carolina and national polls showed Barr at 3% yesterday. Baldwin is unfortunately not getting media air-time nor poll results yet.
In contrast, there is no Religious Nanny State third party running. Those people are apparently OK with McCain for some reason. I wonder if it is because they know something we don't, like McCain being prepared to make Romney his VP.

In 1998, He successfully blocked implementation of Initiative 59—the "Legalization of Marijuana for Medical Treatment Initiative of 1998"—which would have legalized medical marijuana in the District of Columbia (DC).[32] The "Barr Amendment" to the 1999 Omnibus spending bill not only blocked implementation of Initiative 59 but prohibited the vote tally from even being released.
Barr was once photographed at a fundraising event licking whipped cream off the chest of a woman.[63] He said he was raising money for leukaemia research.
Barr appeared in the mock documentary Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. He met with "Borat" (portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen) in the United States Capitol where he was given cheese that Borat described as being made from his wife's breast milk.[8

Why oh why would I want to give even a penny to him when he voted to strip me of the protections of my rights which the US Constitution is supposed to provide? Why would I give even a penny to him when he's made his global ambitions for the empire quite clear?
Take your Barr shilling elsewhere.
For every 5 times mentioning Patriot Act, mention IMBRA once
I don't mind people harping on the Patriot Act (which Barr got Sunset Provisions for), but for Heaven's sake, please mention the really bad IMBRA law at least once for every 5 times you mention the Patriot Act. IMBRA is not some obscure law that only effects "mail order bride" websites.
Otherwise I might think that some people really care about how one law has a magic aura about it that gets left wingers riled up about it...while the other law is something you willfully chose to learn nothing about.
Let's compare Patriot to IMBRA:
1) Patriot allows passive government wiretapping between an American speaking with a foreigner on the phone or other means of contact.
2) IMBRA allows active government interference by forcing the foreigner to sign the American's background check before allowing two people to communicate across international boundaries in the first place. IMBRA makes initial phone contact illegal altogether because a foreign woman can sign a man's background check only in writing via email or webmail.
1) Patriot Act was motivated ostensibly because of a fear that terrorists will vaporize an American city.
2) IMBRA was motivated ostensibly because one woman might be beaten by her American husband after she meets him on a dating website 5 years before.
We all know which danger the liberals are most worried about. Both are bad laws but the liberals will tell you that IMBRA is good because American men need to be actively regulated and background checked before they communicate with women.
But do the libertarians have to go down the same path...agonizing over the less intrusive law because it is more politically expedient to do so?

IMBRA is quite intrusive and pretty bad too.
How does that negate the importance of a 'YES' vote for the (un)Patriot Act?
And as far as the sunset provisions the pro-Barr corps like to point to and say 'Look, he only voted yes to it because he wanted to put in the sunset provisions...' , that's such BS it's ridiculous. It's just the same as if I were to join a gang and participate in a good old fashioned a$$ kicking on some poor victim just so I could later say that I only joined the gang and participated so I could make sure the beating wasn't any worse.

Thanx for acknowledging that IMBRA is "pretty bad too". Now I can be more outraged about the Patriot Act again. ;-)
I wrote to the Barr campaign saying I cannot donate more than $25 until I see Barr apologize for putting poor Monica through hell for something that was none of his business. I said it more nicely than that, but IMBRA has taught me that the Monica deal was a forewarning of socon plans to really mess with heterosexual relationships.
Bob Barr has not yet shown what he thinks now of the whole Monica mess.
It is interesting that the mess was foreshadowed in the film "The American President"...except in the film the President really was doing something illegal because his mistress was a lobbyist who was actively pressuring him to sign a gun-control law.
Getting back to Barr: In fact, he has been quiet on all issues involving heterosexual social behavior.
Let's not let him pass the buck by saying "I would let states decide such matters" either. I want to hear what Bob Barr would do if he were a state or city legislator.

My wife's cousin works for
My wife's cousin works for the CIA and is one of the most boring people I know. My sister world in the administration for a School district, should I be disowning these people? I mean the guy worked in the freaking legal dept for the CIA, We all know there reasons that you might not like Barr, ( for example, I'm pro choice but as with RP, I put up with it as I know I always have to compromise somewhere as the country is not made up of my clones) but this one is the most absurd ones.
Hey I once heard Baldwin shops at a 7-11 that once chased away kids on a skateboard. Baldwin is anti-skateboard pass it on!!!
