[ACTION ALERT] Senate votes on unconstitutional FISA bill tomorrow.
Submitted by IamVoting4RonPaul on Mon, 07/07/2008 - 23:13
On Tuesday, July 8th the Senate will consider an unconstitutional FISA bill that lets lawbreaking phone companies off the hook.
These companies handed over huge amounts of information to the Bush administration, potentially millions of emails and phone calls and more, without getting a warrant.
Without enough public outcry, the Senate will let these phone companies off the hook and let Bush and future presidents keep spying on Americans without getting a warrant. Will you please help stop this horrendous bill?
Send an email to your senators now and help protect freedom.

Not good...
Although there seems to be some opposition to the FISA bill in the Senate. Hopefully there is sufficient opposition to kill this thing. Indeed, everyone on this site must contact both of their Senators tomorrow. I don't believe emailing is the proper method of conveying our disgust for this legislation. We need to fax letters, pick up the phone, leave messages, as well as email. Do this before you go into work this morning.

My email and fax messages to MD's Senators
Senator (Cardin & Mikulski),
I understand that the Senate will be voting on the FISA bill, Tuesday morning July 8, 2008.
Just a few days ago, America celebrated her 232nd birthday. On that day, many Americans celebrated liberty, and the freedom and independence from a tyrannical British rule. Let us not forget so quickly what this country stands for. Unfortunatly, this bill represents the exact opposite of what we the people should expect of a free society. Benito Mussolini once stated that "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power". Sadly, this is the current situation that is staring us in the face, with its dark and hollow eyes.
I urge you, Senator, to vote NO. I am confident that you indeed take your oath to defend the Constitution seriously, and that you will make the correct decision concerning this matter, for our Republic's future rests on it.
