RNC to Solicit Online Suggestions for Party Platform
ABC News’ Karen Travers reports: The Republican National Committee today will unveil a web site, www.gopplatform2008.com, that will allow individuals to log on and share their suggestions and opinions on what should be included in the party’s platform. The platform will be ratified by the party’s delegates at its convention in Minneapolis in September.

Me think it's time for us to do some emailing.

RNC Party platform suggestion
Nominate Ron Paul and do everything that he recommends. How's that?

Actually it's not. You need
Actually it's not. You need to say it a lot more, enough so that it out weighs everything else expressing the collectivist agenda.

Who is the RNC soliciting? Evidently...anyone.
...belonging to any party. Or no party, for that matter.
Have you visited their create an account page? It asks for name, state, email, etc...but not your political party affiliation. Heck, you can even register anonymously if you so choose.
Personally, I don't give a flying banana as to anyone's "party affiliation" -- "party" itself means zip to me.
But, ehrm, for a party that has made a BIG stink about whether RP is "Republican enough" to run on their ticket...well, I find it rather odd that this little matter is of so little matter to them that they fail to include that requirement in their registration for helping to determine the Republican Party platform.
My conclusion: this is nothing more than a test-the-waters and check-the-polls kind of operation. They want to find out what's popular so that they can parrot the "right" things to win votes...and then (I expect) do whatever they plan to do anyway.
Not trying to be pessimistic, but I do sense a somewhat less than forthright undertaking there...don't let my assessment stop you from submitting items; I am merely offering food for thought.
Well consider what happens
Well consider what happens if you do not submit your input... In fact lets assume no liberty minded on Ron Paul supporters submit any ideas. Now imagine if every neocon collectivist brainwashed zombie submits the expected demagoguery. When this thing concludes, even if they are blowing smoke smooth up your @$$. It will only serve as confirmation as to their motive and agenda. Also, people submitting their own ideas may/will go threw what has already been submitted and if you do not represent.... you're not representing. You may not be able to influence the minds of the GOP leadership, but you can influence the onlooking GOP readership.
I was the second person to post a video and now there's nine pages worth of videos. I hope the few videos i submitted are not the only liberty minded videos submitted. How hard can it be to post your favorite Youtube videos over there at the same time you post them elsewhere. While there may be no net gain to be had here there is most definitely the potential for great loss.
It's like ascending a slippery slope. No matter how much effort you put in, the ground you take may be marginal. However, if you put forth no effort what so ever you are sure to slide back to the bottom of the hill.

Indeed
No effort = no gain; no argument there.
I was submitting the simple temperance of expectations, particularly since the Republican party is accepting ideas for their platform from voters -- actually, that's not being verified either, I guess, so -- from people of any party, of any citizenship, of any age, who happen to be able to fill out a form on the intertubes.
Iraq!
That's the subject that I wrote about in their National Security section.
Good find thank you for posting
Yep, I expected as much, another political Facebook site. This is no different than Gore's "Wecansolveit" Or Obama's "mybarackobama". Invade, and spread the word.
This site doesn't allow inside groups to be formed so we are all on our own. The upside is they will accept video posts. Meaning you can post links to Youtube videos.
As long as they put these sites out there for the public to engage in I think the voice of liberty needs to be injected.

does it mean anything
Does the platform mean anything? It seems to me the platform is like those interchangeable faceplates people get to have like designer computers or gadgets. Just take off the blue faceplate and snap on a red one, or yellow or whatever. Like peeling a BMW logo off and slapping it on a Ford or something.
We bounced everything off the State Platform at the county convention, and McCain is Still the supposed nominee... leads me to believe the platform is just fluff.
I Agree, but
Remember Ron Paul and how he acts in the face of adversity. He will simply repeat his position over and over again until it gets heard. Chances are the RNC will not listen, but that does not matter. We must continue to promote to ideas of liberty and freedom. Just because someone isn't listening to you does not mean you are not being heard.
I will continue to promote the values of our constitution to anyone who invites it and the RNC has done just that.
cheers

That's interesting.
Shouldn't be too hard for alot of us registered Republicans to enter the Ron Paul platform into their mix.
Assuming, of course, that they allow writing in the platform suggestions, and not selecting from Neocon platforms A, B, or C.
Our Voice Should Still Be Put Out There
At least there is now an avenue. Whether or not they actually listen will be a different story. The Republican base is in dire straights and they needto reach out to us in order to survive. 1 million plus strong is not a number that should be ignored. It has been ignored this whole campaign and we should flood them in order to show them how strong we really are.
