I wish upon wishes that he ran for the Libertarian Party nomination. Imagine the work we could accomplish. This year, even (ex?)-Neo-Con Bob Barr is polling in double digits in some places. I would be spending every waking moment campaigning for RP. He would have no problem getting on every state's ballot. He would raise millions. But, alas, it is not so. On to the next strategy...

I have come to
a conclusion. I thought that we could take back the country bottom up, maybe to a point we can. There is a problem and everybody knows what it is.
Every time someone stands up for liberty and it looks like they are gathering supporters they are either threatened, set-up or taken out. Nothing will change. Nothing will ever change. They have the brains, money and the muscle. This is a top down problem and I don't see anyway of changing that. They can take our Freedoms, our life and the fruit of our labor but they can't take our Love or Soul from us. Peace Patriot

There were a few congressmen that endorsed him. Already a lot has been achieved, but waiting for the true breakthrough and more successes. It will not be easy and there will be failures at times, but things could happen faster now.
I think soon after the march they need to organize another moneybomb, with the excitement high this weekend. A big moneybomb would ensure further stimulus.

I am sure he considered every possibility. But he knows how difficult it is to get on the ballot and you need 100 m then, not 35 plus how does he overcome the 4 or 5 sore loser states where we would not be on the ballot? The media would have ignored him, no Ron Paul candidates could be running under the GOP banner and he had to leave his seat TX district 14. I know Justin Raimundo and others mentioned that he should run as Indy in January or February, but the same argument.
I thought about it a lot, if he does not get the nomination (e.g. the momentum of the revolution continued with his campaigning for the remaining primaries, where he fared better), he is in a relative strong position to catapult into a leading role in the GOP with a big loss in November, not only presidency, but also in seats. The GOP will get their wake-up call.
The movement should stay united in the campaign for liberty. For this election one should not see Barr or Baldwin as a division, but rather count their votes together. If the GOP does not reform, Paul and his collegues plus the CP plus the non-anarchist, pro-life part of the LP should merge in a new party and contest the 2010 elections to pick up seats.
The economic crisis will get deeper next year etc. Maybe it is still to early to make the eyes of the masses, but we have a base and making progress.

No offense, but Jesse Ventura isn't even TALKING about running for President and the election is in 3 1/2 months! The time to clamor for Ventura was at least five months ago. He couldn't run now even if he wanted to--which he apparently doesn't.

We JUST MUST have Dr. Paul in this election. I hate it for HIM, but we have to have HIM and no one else. He is the one with the momentum, he is the one with the reputation, he is the ONLY one who can win against the establishment, he is what Independent/Third Party is all about. People don't realize how desperate we are for him to be running in the general. We must have him.

Nice to see Lew Rockwell weigh in on this...the reason the movement is splitting into hostile rival camps (guilty as charged, here--I'm doing it as much as anyone) is because we all came here for one reason: To see Ron Paul become President of the United States. It's not happening. He's suspended his campaign and won't leave the Republican Party.
I wish it could be different. I wish he would run on another party ticket (it's actually too late now for him to declare Independent).

I think Ron was incorrect to say that Republican has strayed from it's roots. People like Taft and Buffett have been rare anomalies interspersed between your regular conservative.
He should ditch the GOP. Since Bush, the young people now think the GOP is just lame.
