Oregon Delegates Update!

0 votes

Just wanted everyone to know that in Oregon we elected 3 delegates and 4 alternates to the national convention (out of 27). We were to have 4 of each, but the GOP put out a competing slate and one of their "Ron Paul" delegates got through. Fortunately, we did get the other three.

Congratulations Oregonians for Ron Paul!

Oregon Delegates Update!

The 1st district had about 9 RP supporters, with 98 in attendance. The old republicans had sheets out that had suggested RP and McCain delegates, the RP ones they had listed were the "Fake" ones.

One of the RP supporters had a list of the 4 selected delegates to send and passed them out multiple times. This helped but I feel most of the people in their new the 4 fake RP delegates were McCain delegates in disguise and voted that way.

All of the voting counting was done in closed doors.

My husband came back a Delegate

from 4th District. RON PAULERS ROCKED
Terry is right our work just begins. John McCainers are distressed - we will win them over.

The crazy thing was that

The crazy thing was that after we walked table to table handing out our slate...the non Ron Paul supporters really looked over our slate in the 4th District. We were the largest district I believe and in our district ALL of our 4 primary Ron Paul delegates won!!!!! Everybody pulled out OUR slate in the room and voted it( watched them)!!!! It was GREAT!!! Even my county chairman sitting next to me was asking me if he voted our slate right LOL!!! Then asked me if I was interested in a Vice Chair position!!! I remained calm, but was inside crapping my pants.

Also, the sgt at arms and the chair of our convention were RP supporters, but kept it even, fair, and showed zero bias(they were old school State Party Republicans that were Ron Paul supporters).

It was AWESOME in the 4th district!!!!!!!!

Long Live the Republic and the Constitution!!!!!!!!!!!

Convention sat through 1 hour of Ron Paul support videos

I attended the Oregon District 4 convention. I estimate close to 30% of the (around) 100 precinct committee persons in attendance were Ron Paul supporters.

There were 30 people running to be selected as McCain delegates and 30 people running to be Ron Paul delegates. Each candidate for delegate had a self-produced 2-minute video that was shown to the whole convention. After we watched the McCain delegate videos, the whole convention sat through 1 hour of videos by Ron Paul delegate candidates. That was the best part of the whole convention! Every one of the Ron Paul videos was awesome -- sincere and passionate and addressing (truly) patriotic issues close to the hearts of the misguided Republicans there. I'm sure that's the most that many or all of those non-Paul Republicans have ever been exposed to the message of Ron Paul. And I would not be surprised if many of them, as they watched these moving videos, began to wonder why they had not been supporting Ron Paul instead of being led like sheep to support whatever candidate the machine chose for them.

Watching these Republican decision makers attentively view the Ron Paul support videos, and seeing many of them nodding their heads in agreement, was a great cap-off of my year of on-the-street activism.

Thanks for that!

When I sat in the back row at the NV GOP Convention on the first day, Ron Paul addressed us. In the row in front of me were about 5 or 6 McCain supporters and they practically had to sit on their hands to keep from applause. When I watched the audience, I saw all the "buying" signs...they were all leaning forward, there was no fidgeting, and they were quiet. Exciting to witness.

First things first

The elected delegates have a 10 day window to file an acceptance form and some other paperwork. If they do not, then the executive committee will appoint someone. After the papers are in, then we will know who the delegates are.

is there any way you can get the names and addresses of all

of those delegates?? Or do you know where we can get them??(public records??) If so post it..or
email me at
liberty@coasttocoastmoneybomb.com

this is for DVD4delegates....

thanks

email addresses

I came back from our district convention today. Their names will be posted soon, but for anyone else that might respond before I do, please keep the emails private unless the delegates have confirmed they want it it posted publicly. It's just respectful to them.

THAT IS FANTASTIC!!

WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONVERT ALL OF THE MCCAIN SUPPORTERS.....we do need their physical.or mailing addresses as we will mail them a dvd...if you get them or know of when/where they will be posted. Please email me at liberty@coasttocoastmoneybomb.com

Thanks, Oregon!

Seems like getting RP delegates might be tougher now, this late in the game. But it may actually work to our advantage: so many are "certain" that it's over for RP, that, you know, it couldn't hurt to let some of "those people" become delegates...

primaries reflect the general populace opinion

...and as we know, the populace doesn't tend to know what's going on or is influenced by the media which doesn't tell the whole story or even the truth. Only through caucuses can you deliberate and influence the outcome.

Oregon has a primary, and a pretty wacky one at that.

Ron Paul won 15% of the primary, so he was allotted 15% of the delegates, which equates to 4 delegates. We had 33% more RP delegates filed than McCain. That alone sent a message.

Each delegate could create a video speech or speak live. The videos were broadcast statewide. Our tactic was to have the RP delegates promote our slate. It worked. Of the 4, 3 were confirmed, dedicated grassroots supporters. Of the 5 districts, #4 and #5 had a strong win for our slate. #5 had 33% known RP supporters attending, which means most of the assembly voted for our slate.

Many of the Oregon McCain delegates were unenthusiastic and sympathetic to many of Dr. Paul's views. They know McCain is not a Republican or even conservative, but are going along because they have no choice. I think they can be worked with and show them a choice exists. The conversion and team building will be done BETWEEN now and the convention. Our work begins now.

When You Are Fighting a Stacked Deck

you have to work that much harder, so thanks for your hard work. I can't help but wonder how many of these primaries really showed the correct voting count in the end? Unless a major upheaval takes place with our voting machines, you can bet even if Dr. Paul gets nominated, the votes somehow won't be in his favor!!!

unstacking the deck

There is a R candidate for Oregon Secretary of State, Rick Dancer, that understands the voting system has flaws. Some of the RP folks have talked with him and agree with the R party he is not only a better choice, but a good choice to help us untangle the mess. There's a lot of work to do, but with a little work from a lot of dedicated people, we can get him in.

Yeah Rick seems like a real

Yeah Rick seems like a real honest man. He flat out said to not expect him to favor the Republican or Democratic party in districting. If I remember right he flat out said that at the State Convention. That is some balls there to speak honestly and say you will do the job right and not expect any 'helpful' favors that would benefit the Republican party. A man that would just straight do his job...what a crazy idea :P LOL!

Yes, I had no idea

"The GOP is dirty." I grew up being taught that the government wears the whites hats and while there are a few rotten apples, they do everything in our best interest, serving the people. I thought the parties were but organizations to coordinate elections, represent the candidates.....fairly.....etc. Wow, how wrong those impressions have turned out to be. Living proof here in Nevada of the tactics they are capable of. Besides booting a bunch of incumbents and liberal Republicans from office...we need to see about changing the RNCommittee and GOP leadership as well. They need to have their noses rubbed in their own Party Rules, too. From www.gop.com

"Party Rules
The Rules Of The Republican Party As adopted by the 2004 Republican National Convention August 30, 2004

BE IT RESOLVED, That the Republican Party is the party of the open door. Ours is the party of liberty, the party of equality of opportunity for all and favoritism for none.

It is the intent and purpose of these rules to encourage and allow the broadest possible participation of all voters in Republican Party activities at all levels and to assure that the Republican Party is open and accessible to all Americans." More rules listed....under "About the GOP."

Now, Oregon...great work, thanks!....it's not easy bucking the GOP and we know you had to work very hard to get what you did. Now, ask yourself: Are the Party Rules reflected by your state party leaders? Do you see where they have not lived up to the basic Rules? We need to let these people know and we need to let the media know how we feel, too. Ron Paul believes the Republican Party needs to return to its original foundations and after seeing the actions of Sue Lowden, Bob Beers, Zac Moyle, et al, here in Nevada...well, their actions speak volumes.

Though everything that happened here in Nevada, I forgot one of the original problems. Before the caucus, Ron Paul filed a complaint asking for a postponement as the NV GOP had sent postcards for polling places with wrong addresses, had wrong addresses posted on their website, and there were a couple of other irregularities. He was denied, of course.
