She's on Cspan now - 7:54pm - speaking on behalf of the Green Party. I like her a lot. She's a spitfire for Freedom and has taken on the big guys! She is fearless in standing up to the NeoCons and is in support of Impeachment.

She's obviously a leftist,
but there are some issues that can cross political lines, such as the war, and truth about 9/11.
Limited agreement on certain issues like that may be beneficial to both sides.
I don't really agree much with her, and she's not the best person for public relations either. But, some issues in politics can make strange bedfellows, even if only for one night stands.
But, it certainly is true that most of her stances are very hard left.
it amazes me
that people who are so rabidly against Barr, whose at least saying all the right things, would rally behind McKinney and be blinded into thinking anything she does could be good for us. Especially when she hasn't changed her views from when she was in congress, oh no wait, yay she's more pro environment.

I know it's awful. The more I go on this site, the more I am shocked at some people's lack of discernment...It's amazing. They make this woman out to be great, and Barr is the scum of the earth...
what is liberty
There are some here on the DP who really do not (yet) understand what liberty is. This is a public board and anyone can join and post. There is no pre-screening, no Constitutional test and no requirement to join. All that is fine with me, but don't be too surprised when you see it come out in their positions and understanding of what the Doc is truly talking about.

Nationalized health care? All she kept talking about was a, and i quote "hip-hop culture" and she kept saying that repeatedly. She was talking about giving benefits to rappers and all this other non-sense. She may be against the war, but there is more to this story than the small clips shown above, believe me.

I saw this woman give her acceptance speech for the green party last evening, and I was initially intrigued. But she then was discussing the evils of this country and she went on to mention that CAPITALISM, YES CAPITALISM was a problem of this great country. She also went on to talk about nationalized health care and how it must be brought to this country. NO TRUE, SELF-RESPECTING RON PAUL SUPPORTER WOULD THINK ABOUT VOTING FOR THIS WOMAN! Operation Gridlock
this is a name I've heard floated about by several different people. The idea is to get as many people to vote for 3rd party candidates as possible. So the people to vote for are:
-WRITE IN RON PAUL
-Bob Barr
-Chuck Baldwin
-Ralph Nader
-Cynthia McKinney
(anyone else?)
The point is to make sure neither Democrat nor Republican candidates get a majority (more than 50%) of the vote.
I think this is a tremendous idea and one that should be put together by the Freedom Coaltion-anyone else with me?

Other than the write-in part yeah. You need a vote that will be counted because it needs to count against McBama. But yeah that's pretty much where I've been standing on this. All the 3rd parties are in the same boat as far as I'm concerned and it's that boat that is threatening to the establishment. It is somewhat of an ultimatum, nominate Paul or else... If they call our bluff and stay-the-course and the ship goes down, I'm suggesting saving Baldwin. By my estimation there is far less resistance to Baldwin than any of the others. Unfortunately Baldwin has the least amount of name recognition and a looming ballot access issue. So if you are down with Baldwin I suggest you contact the campaign and get some signatures for ballot access in your state.
We should also be petitioning the Commission on Presidential Debates and pressure them to allow these respective 3rd parties in the debates.
As for the House and Senate... the incumbents must go. Pelosi, Ried, Graham... the list goes on and on.

JSHowell, this is an idea that I have blogged at other web sites.
Every four years the American people focus their attention on choosing a presidential candidate from the Democratic party or the Republican party. The majority of citizens never consider another party to rule over us. For over 150 years, these two entrenched ideologies have degraded our economy with oppressive interventionism supported by a crushing national tax system. Low income people who continue to be enslaved with the ‘drug’ of perpetual state welfare. A federally mandated education system that has been unsuccessful in motivating and teaching our young the basic skills needed to prepare themselves for the future. A crumbling infrastructure of poorly maintained bridges and highways. A foreign policy that has failed miserably under the pretense of ‘democracy’ at the point of a gun, vis-à-vis Status of Force Agreements (SOFA).
It doesn’t matter who the candidate is, the two party crime syndicate bolstered by special interest group bureaucrats control government at the federal and state levels. The people grumble and complain to themselves or blog on the Internet, but as soon as government gives us a spoonful of “sugar” (i.e., tax rebate) our minds react as if we received a dose of Ritalin. The Media which traditionally was the people’s advocate, has been comprised through mergers and acquisitions and now serves its corporate masters.
We the people have all the power, yet we persist on electing representatives of the same two parties who continue to serve their own interests and not ours. When are we going to stand up and take control of our own country’s destiny?
Can anyone in their right mind deny we have been lied to by the leadership of this nation with the aide of a complicit media? I’m not just writing about the President and Vice President, but the entire Congress made up of Republicans and Democrats as well. This is not a government of the people, but a consortium of fascist elitists. Government carries on with ever increasing expansion in size and power at the financial expense of the people, who receive less and less. They create an atmosphere of fear about terrorism, but the nexus of terrorism is located in Washington, DC.
So what must we do for ourselves and our families to end this obvious tyranny of deception and manipulation? I’ll tell you what I will do. As a registered Independent for every election, I will vote for a candidate who is not a Democrat or Republican. I don’t care if the candidate is not well connected, doesn’t looks pretty or has two heads. It doesn’t matter to me. Anything is better than the two parties we currently have in power today.
Who are these other candidates? WHO CARES!! They aren’t running as a democrat or republican and that’s what counts! Do some research on your own and find out which one is:
A – Not an insane fascist war profiteer (like Bush/Cheney).
B – Not a career politician who owes their soul to a Washington bureaucrat.
C – Doesn’t think government has the right to run your life and steal your freedoms.
D – What ever else is important to you.
How will the corporate fascist media respond? Let’s see.

No, what it will do is scare the panties off these career politicians when they realize the American people have the moxie to revolt against decades of corruption. These smug senators and representatives will be next to go to the unemployment line.

The Constitutional Party supports adherence to the U.S. Constitution; America’s living document bound to the people. What’s not to like about that?
The Libertarian Party favors smaller federal government involvement in your life. I guess if you’re a socialist and want a handout instead of a hand up, this party would not be your choice.
The Independent Party is just what it says, “independence” from the continuous democratic and republican party dogma of welfare and warfare.
The Green Party wants a healthier planet. Jeez, don’t we all?
3. “Voting for a third party will be a wasted vote.”
Wasted for whom, the deep-rooted two-party system that has repeatedly failed the country?
The bottom line is if you want to swallow the same political crap year after year, then go ahead, pull the lever for your “party” candidate.
But if you truly want to effect change, get some backbone; vote for anyone other than a Democrat or Republican candidate.

donations? are you crazy, with the mere trickle of funds that's going towards liberty candidates, you think we should be channeling funds to a socialistic, anti-small government, anti-capitalist, elitist like McKinney?
Bringing awareness so that democrats who won't join our movement will at least have an alternative, yes I'm for it. But donating and giving our time to a candidate whose just as bad as the people in office (and once was one.) I can't go along with that.

It is very refreshing to see Cynthia McKinney back in the spotlight this woman is the real deal and I like her alot. The Green Party made an excellent choice and it will be interesting to see how this plays out with the Democrats who colluded with the Republicans to take away her House seat for speaking out against this evil war. On another note this website has been completely infiltrated by RNC and DNC plants screaming for Bob Barr and other modus operandi, you are fooling nobody.

Am I wrong, or isn't this the same woman who verbally abused and slapped a recently hired guard at the doors of congress because he asked her to provide identification (something we ordinary plebs have to when we enter congress.) She isn't a defender of our beliefs, she's an elitist.

I don't understand the ire
I don't understand the ire on here for this woman. Is she a socialist? Yes, but she is also tough enough to go after the bad guys and do her duty in Congress. There's a reason she was pushed out.
In the past, and the present, The People would petition, push and shove to get a greater share of the power in running the state. Where they almost invariably failed was in selecting those among themselves to represent them. Seldom could The People compromise or learn enough to come to an agreement when it came time to choose individuals to take the reigns of power. As such they (we) were (are) seldom able to to rise above the disorganized brute strength of a mob; a mob mostly manipulated and ultimately ruled by those who could compromise and who did learn enough to understand because their goals weren't what was good, but only what gave them more immediate power.
If we are ever going to take back this country for We The People, we are going to need to stop bickering over this or that point and assist those who want to genuinely help, and especially those with a track record to prove it.
I don't like McKinney's economic policies but, honestly, neither her nor her supporters know any better. I know this because I've talked to them and her at a fund raising lunch I helped the Green Party put together. Its our job to educate ourselves so that we can engage with and educate her supporters. We can't do that if their is animosity between us over one or two issues when there are a number of issues we agree on. If you go to Green Party meetings and talk to people about fiat debt based money and the Federal Reserve, they will listen. You just need to have respect for them, listen to what they are saying and understand the economics well enough to explain it. You won't have a 100% conversion of anyone at that meeting but you can give them information and plant seeds. In time, their positions will become less socialist and we can come together better to fight our common enemy.

This is the best post on here in awhile. I wholeheartedly agree with you. We MUST learn tolerance and understand that True Patriots come in many forms. If you are FOR the Constitution and its non-intervention policies and liberties and gold standard then you are on my side. People can be woken up gently as well as quickly.
