Is Anyone Using A Ink Stamp To Promote Ron Paul?

0 votes

Here on Daily Paul, there is an ad for a rubber ink stamp. Has anyone used one to stamp items that are frequently used and passed around?

I ordered one last week and hope it gets here soon!!!

To me, it seems a very inexpensive way to spread the name/word around.

I stamp everything in sight. LOL

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people to whom it properly belongs.

I Really Like Mine

I stamp the reply envelopes I use for paying bills. I've also had another stamp made that says PLEASE GET INVOLVED!, which I use with my slim jims.

If it helps the cause and you can afford it, why not DO it?

Yeah

I stamp everything as well.

I've actually had someone ask me if I was stamping my money because they had gotten bills that had been stamped from a store miles away from where I spend any of them ;)

I actually got one convert with my stamp. I frequently stop at this gas station on the way home from work and the girl working the counter noticed the stamp and looked bewildered. next time I went in there she was a Ron Paul supporter!

fliers in all my junk mail reply envelopes with all my outgoing mail stamped.

gotta love viral marketing guerilla style

I Like the Idea, but ...

is it LEGAL to stamp Federal Reserve Notes?

Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code

"Defacement of Currency

Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

Defacement of currency in such a way that it is made unfit for circulation comes under the jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service."

You must be damaging it in a way that would make it unusable and take it out of circulation. And notice the keywords "with intent". Stamping does not constitute intent to take the FRN's out of service...just stamp them in areas that are open :P

I got this link from the FAQ page of http://www.wheresgeorge.com

Where's George site and tens of thousands of people have been stamping money since 1998 to track it and see where it goes. Kind of a fun idea.

Hope that helps...stamp away :P

Yes, I stamp everything I hand out, money, slim jims etc..

I also take it to my meetup group and pass it around for everyone to use. Its been a great conversation piece.

BOTH Ink stamps and slim jims

Yep I stamp all the paper money I spend with the stamp. Also, You know the envelope full of advertisements you get with many monthly bills? Well, I return the favor. I stamp the outside of the envelope, front and back with my ink stamp AND include a slim jim in the envelope with my payment.
:)
Some envelopes are too small to lay it in flat, but with a little creative folding and/or trimming, it works just fine.
Might as well get some extra mileage from your postage stamp too. :)

Planning on it

I've got a sheaf of $2 bills I want to stamp, but haven't seen a stamp I like yet. Might have to get one made myself -- or maybe just run them through my printer. I like $2 bills because (1) they have Jefferson on the front, (2) the signing of the Declaration on the back, and (3) when you hand a $2 bill to someone they'll always look at it: "Hey, I don't see many of these!" And a lot of things at the local Farmers Market (bunches of carrots, greens, etc.) sell for $2.

You can get $2 bills at most banks; a friend of mine always had piles of them around (maybe because he shared a birthday with Jefferson), and I inherited some from him when he died last spring.

I'd like to stamp them:

I bought the one that the ad on here shows. I stamp everything dollars, letters, bills in the mail, checks, you name it. I love that thing. I now get as many $1 as I can (most used bill) Put them in the vending machines at work, morning coffee, hair cuts. Its pretty good and for $10 (I cant remember exactly how much) its worth it.

It is $9.95 and the total

It is $9.95 and the total including s/h was $13 and change... pretty inexpensive!

I used one at a rally

I used a stamp at a rally that someone provided. I stamped some money with it, and it felt great!

It would be a blast to see money circulating with Ron Paul's message.
