Obama coming to Berlin - Update: I need your help!Submitted by Colognepaulist on Sun, 07/20/2008 - 01:24
the 24th of July. What a buffoon! http://www.spiegel.de/int... . In the meantime he has altered his plan. He will not speak in front of the Brandenburg Gate, but in front of the "Siegessäule"/Victory Column, still allowing videoshots of the Brandenburg Gate in the background. I would love to be there with some Fellowpaulites holding up Ron Paul bills, but I cannot make it. I just found out there is a meetup group there http://ronpaul.meetup.com/440/ . Never heard of them, apparently most of them are Ex-Pats. They seem to be pretty isolated. Perhabs we may incite some of them to go there and show some Ron Paul and rEVOLution bills. I will send an Email to the organizer and hope he will mail it to the other members. I have not the time today to contact them individually. If anyone has contact to Berlin, please use it.
For the occassion I made my first overstream to add German subtitles to this important speech of Ron Paul on Obama: http://www.overstream.net.... I will send it to the German speaking blogs. Obama is obviously the darling of the German media and many Germans think it awesome he may be the first black president. Maybe some of these fools may come across this important video and start to think.
I received a first reply from the meetupgroup. And it's a journalist covering the Obama speech!!!
But he wrote he has no contact to other Berlin Paulites. So that what I' am asking you:
If you have a meetup account and some spare time: please send them a message ASAP via the "greetings" function, telling them that it is important they appear at the "Siegessäule" to "show our colours" (don't hesitate to do it in English, most of them are ex-pats anyway). I have already send an Email to all members from the Berlin area (skip the others) to contact me via Email (the organizer seems to be off duty) so I may do some coordination. And I would love to go there! I guess if only a couple of people appear it may be even covered at least by local media. And if this guy is serious, we may have a positive coverage and som nice pics.
