Home Invasion by the State

This is happening across the Pond, but as we know, that which occurs over there has a nasty way of showing up over here...

btw, in this article, "pot plants" means potted plants. And no, this is not from The Onion.

Home Invasion by the State

Excerpt:

---

HOMEOWNERS must let council inspectors in to check for DANCING BEARS after they were handed 1,043 powers to pry.

Armies of clipboard-touting officials can demand entry to check on everything from pot plants to fridges.

Details of the vast array of laws were quietly slipped out to MPs last Tuesday by the Home Office.

The list includes 430 new powers of entry brought in by Labour ministers – a year after a report said there were only 266.

The checks include whether POT PLANTS have pests or imported “passport” documents, or if HYPNOTISM is being practised illegally.

Inspectors can demand to know if homeowners are keeping RABBITS.

Brits must also reveal if their HEDGE is too high under the AntiSocial Behaviour Act, and whether their FRIDGE has the correct EU energy rating under little-known Energy Information Household Refrigerators and Freezers Regulations 2004.

Bureaucrats can also make a sweep for WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.

Additionally, penpushers are embarking on a new council tax regime. It allows them to poke around a home and fine those who refuse access.

Wow. The "AntiSocial Behaviour Act"...

We don't have property or privacy rights....duh

We live on their plantation...it's there land. We only rent it...that's why they can tax us...that's why they can enter our slave quarters whenever they want.

We must obtain real property rights if we will ever have any privacy rights.

Ron Paul is the great uniter, the income tax fighter...the military-supported, defender of the border...the political apathy solution and the champion of the Constitution! Doctor Paul is on-call!

I read a news article once,

that showed how they fined a motorist for eating an apple while driving, and they used a helicopter to film this horrible "crime". They spent hundreds of dollars to fine somebody for basically nothing.

Look at America, what don't we do in our vehicles?

On any given day, I see people reading, combing their hair, shaving, talking on the phone, applying makeup, eating, drinking (both hard and soft drinks), smoking (various substances), having oral sex, and one time a saw a girl tweezing her nose hairs (that's just wrong in public). And this is just the people driving less than 80 MPH.

If you work in a big city like I do, I have to routinely drive 80 MPH or faster, while talking to customers on the phone, writing down info, sipping my coffeee, and smoking my Marlboros, while I avoid the jerk who cuts me off at the last possible instance so he can take the exit on two wheels.

But seriously, we cannot give an inch or they will take a mile.

We must stand our ground with our last dying breath if we have to.

It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees.

No you don't

"If you work in a big city like I do, I have to routinely drive 80 MPH or faster, while talking to customers on the phone, writing down info, sipping my coffeee, and smoking my Marlboros"

No. You don't. The presumption is that your job requires it and you must obey your employers. But you don't need that job, you can't risk lives just because your employer will fire you if you don't. That's bull. If you saved wisely, you don't need any job.

Anyway, I agree with everything else you said...especially "we cannot give an inch or they will take a mile". These laws are obsure on purpose...they are to condition us that the government can come in our homes.

British Cops are always looking for the Easy Collar

Easy Collars help coppers to reach the almighty Government Targets.

However, I don't want anyone reading to have the impression that Brits are being herded off into the Gulag by quota.

The British prison population is tiny compared to the US. Americans account for 5% of the global population and 25% of its prisoners.

To give you a real sense of political "culture shock", however, here is the blog entry of an alleged "conservative" Brit on the issue of gun control.

Gun Control

I always admired your country for a police force patrolling the streets WITHOUT firearmes. Is this about to go now ?

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

Juvenile delinquents have firearms in Britain, not the Police.

The police give them a wide berth!

Here is a link to BBC Panorama's "Young Guns" documentary.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/panorama/7475443.stm

To watch the video in full, there is a link just to the right of the preview window.

While Americans have the second amendment, Brits can be sent to prison for five years for owning an unlicensed firearm or for simply carrying a knife. So the criminals have an effective monopoly on violence.

-"Ron Paul cured me of my predilection for Che Guevara T shirts."

How it comes

there are so many firearms available in your country? I don't wonder for Germany because we have fairly uncontrolled and perhabs uncontrollable boarders.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

Three Reasons

1. The law abiding majority of the British public are not legally allowed to bear arms. They face five years in prison for simply possessing a firearm, lock knife or even an imitation fire arm for the purpose of self-defence.

2. The police are largely powerless to stop gangsters because they are (mostly) unarmed themselves.

3. The streets are often patrolled by PCSOs. Police Community Support Officers. Despite the name and the police uniform they wear, they are not actually police officers themselves. They are security officers employed by the police with no police powers of arrest. I'm not joking!

For all the reasons above, the criminals in Britain are extremely powerful. Their dominance is never challenged.

The "Young Guns" documentary focused on Liverpool. Remember the reference to 19 year old Liam "Smigger" Smith? The dead gang leader from Norris Green?

In the days leading up to his extremely lavish funeral, his fellow gang members went to all the shops in Norris Green threatening to fire-bomb any that opened that day. Here is a Liverpool Times article on the subject.

http://www.liverpooltimes.net/2006/09/29/norris-green-the-po...

Although the Liverpool Times is editorially left-wing, the facts of the article are correct.

Common Purpose

Have you heard about this quango ? There is a thread here http://www.dailypaul.com/node/52529 and I added a comment with a video a friend of mine made me aware of a couple of months ago. They are active in Germany too, though I don't know to what extend.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

I feel bad for the British people,

They are becoming the most oppressed people on the planet.

And you are right, if we don't stand up now, then we will be in the same boat of tyranny.

They even got surveillance cameras in the restrooms.

Don't feel bad for us buddy

The average Brit is too drunk to notice ;-)

But in terms of popular rebellion, I think that things will "come to a head" much faster in America than in Britain. The US has over-extended itself to a much greater extent. Militarily and financially. Time will tell.

-"Ron Paul cured me of my predilection for Che Guevara T shirts."

Man,

I hope things come to a head fast in America, I am so sick and tired of what is going on in our country. Unfortunately, only a disaster or "terrorist" attack or financial collapse or the like will wake up the sheeple.

"Financial Collapse"

You said it yourself. There's your answer. People will "wake up" real fast when they can't work, run a business or even feed themselves. They won't be "sheep" any more.

Brittain 2008 looks like Russia 1978

I know that the people and the government are two distinct entities, but come on. Is everyone totally asleep in the UK or what? We're on the same road to tyranny in the US, but the UK is way out in front in becoming a police state. If it keeps up for another decade over there, it will be a 'hard' totalitarian society like the USSR, and I mean that literally.

Orwell's vision is very nearly present in today's Brittain.

Why 1978?

Given my political past, I'm a bit of a history buff when it comes to Communism.

I watched the British version of Cops....

In the episode the driver, an 18 year old kid was speeding. They pulled him over and searched his vehicle and found a very minute amount of pot, which instantly gave the probable cause to search his home, where they found much more than a little bit of anything.... Cold bursted!

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

yeah well did you read the thread from the guy that has

a state that is making them license their bicycles and will be fined for not doing it. They will keep pushing until they are stopped there is not bottom to it. Wake up my friend.

You've never heard of ASBOs?

Theoretically, if you breach an Anti Social Behaviour Order, a British judge can send you to prison on a civil - rather than criminal - standard of proof.

In practice, however, about half of all ASBOs have been breached and in most cases nothing has been done about it!

The British government is now worried that ASBOs have become a "badge of honor" for juvenile delinquents. Google "attacks on fire crews" to get an idea of how weird the crime problem is in Britain.

Hello Brit,

I watched the Icke representation "Big Brother - the Big Picture" http://video.google.de/videoplay?docid=-4799447112501062338
yesterday. It's worth watching. No reptiles and only a little Babylon in it, but many interesting information, esp. about why to distrust David Davies. And a lot about Britain becoming more and more a police state. Of course you have not to digest his theory of one big conspiration behind everything.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

I would be careful about taking what Icke says

Fortune Favors the Bold

at face value. For all we know, Icke may be a "grey propagandist."

Intelligence services have been known to do such things, having agents champion a cause, but making themselves look insane.

I am curious as to whether Icke's claims of Davies' support from Neo-Cons is true.

The current political landscape is very complex, and I am sure there are many opportunists who may be trying to either cash in, or control, the rising anti-statist movement.

Fortune Favors the Bold

One has always

to be careful. I have the gut feeling - but I may be wrong - Icke is crazy and pompous but honest. What he says about the people still surrounding and supporting Davis seems to be sound, and if not true too likely to be disproved (unlike the reptile story). And unlike Davis he didn't change his mindset. It is likely Davis came forward to take control of the the anti-statist movement.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

Pompous? Very much so.

Crazy? I'm not a shrink, but he looks bi-polar to me. Just a hunch.

I remember watching him on the Wogan show in the late 1980s. Back then he wasn't a conspiracy theorist. He was a New Age guru who claimed to be the Son of God and predicted catastrophic floods, fires and earthquakes "within a year". Then, in the 1990s he started to talk about alien conspiracies.

As for David Davis, he has never opposed the welfare/warfare state in Britain. If he claims to be concerned about civil liberties, I'm just curious to know what his actual policies are.

-"Ron Paul cured me of my predilection for Che Guevara T shirts."

I take good information

where I can get it. Don't care if it is from LaRouche, Icke or the Stalinist wing - LOL. You have just to countercheck everything. Do you know if his facts on the people supporting David Davis are straight?
And I will stop defending David Icke. It's not really worth it.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

Scary stuff

I don't think this would fly over here.

Oh, no?

Reference: FISA. Not to mention a bunch of other stuff (free speech "zones," etc.) As a nation, we may grumble about things, but we let a lot of stuff fly.

And Brit, no, I hadn't heard of ASBO laws before. Even if they enforce those only ("only!!") half of the time, simply having such laws on the books at all is frightening.

Just to clarify.

I didn't say that half of all ABSOs had been enforced. I said that half of all ASBOs had been breached and in the vast majority of cases the government hasn't done anything about it.

The fact that all governments run on money is the central issue here. The British government has created masses of legislation that it will never have the wherewithal to enforce. Of course, we also have ancient prohibitions on murder, rape, theft and assault that are not properly enforced either!

Tyranny and insolvency go hand-in-hand.
