Is DVDfordelegates.com a scam?
It really bothers me when people are not 100% transparent when asking for money. While I personally don't think the DVD thing will work, I am fine with whoever wants to participate to do so. But I have seen alot and I mean alot of scams to get people to pitch in money in the name of Ron Paul. For example, I am from Missouri and there was a chipin for attorney fees for Ron Paul delegates that where challenged to the Republican State Convention here and I think it raised a couple thousand dollars. I was a challenged delegate, fairly in the thick of things since I was a District Coordinator for the campaign, and have yet to meet anyone that has gone to court about being challenged. Where did the damn money go?

Why? Where is the money going, where is the accountability, why not let people know who is behind this.

Those raising money should simply communicate with donors either directly or through a public website to show progress. I think things have been working out fairly well so far.

What he is trying to do is make sure the pull for Ron Paul supporter's money, is actually legitimate. You would think that people who have donated their time and money to dvds4delegates would want to see that the program is real, that there is a way to get a hold of delegate lists, that results are being made. It's called transparency, we as a group demand it from our government, why aren't we demanding it from these projects?

but I'll say it again, I haven't made any secret of the fact that if Ron Paul doesn't win the nomination that I'll most likely end up voting for Barr. Many Paul supporters have said the same thing about Baldwin, but they aren't labeled trolls.
I've been a strong Ron Paul supporter from the start of his campaign and I've been a member of these boards for over a year now but you do have the right to question my loyalty. Just like I have the right to question the dvds4delegates project, you can never just assume someone or something has good intentions. However, I have a years worth of posts showing that I'm true, now where''s the proof that the dvds4delegates isn't a scam? Where is the transparency?

One of the most active, intelligent, hard working Ron Paul supporters I know. I do not think he would get involved with any scams, and I know his work in our state has been nearly single-handed.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
DVDs 4 Delegates is a very good idea
I like the concept and the goals.
I'm not wild about the marketing tactics, which seem very "huckster-ish", but not everyone knows how to market things well.
I'm in favor of the DVDs 4 Delegates project, and I'm just hoping that the people running it are handling the money and project in the ethical manner that we are trusting them to do.
There are alot of people who donated and are expecting their donations to be handled properly.
The DVDs 4 Delegates people have the responsibilty to do the right thing with the money, and get the job done, as they have chosen that task and accepted money to do it.
I'm willing to put up with some of the spamming threads, if the job gets done right, and the donators got good value for their monetary donations.

They really haven't advertised much at all, other than the flyers which were handed out at the rally, some banner ads on various websites, and a bunch of occasionally over-enthusiastic posts on site like the DP. Like Dr. Paul, they have relied mostly on the grassroots to get the message out. Their own efforts have been nothing but professional. So, if you are going to say their tactics are "hucksterish" you are pinning that term on the grassroots, imho.

It is more than just money at stake...
What I worry about is the noise introduced by projects that may or may not have any real chance for a positive impact draining the finite financial reserves and (perhaps even more importantly) the energy out of our movement.
The other reason that I can see for holding ourselves, our leaders, and our projects to a higher degree of transparency and accountability is the "little boy who cried wolf" syndrome.
We have already seen the enervating effect of repeated calls for donations on the Money Bomb requests. Any grassroots campaign is especially vulnerable to this kind of effect.
The last thing we need right now is another scandal or scam to distract and discourage us. After all, we are all VOLUNTEERS.
The people behind the DVD4Delegates may be (and probably are) true patriots working tirelessly for the cause, but the fact that there are also unscrupulous forces anxious to discredit and derail this movement should make them especially responsive to any of us who doubt their integrity.

The resistance among some people towards this topic is very unsettling! If one is beyond any doubt whatsoever on this project being legit then either assist and assure the doubter with information or let it go! Protecting a subject with questioning loyalty is in my opinion one of the worst side of human kind.
