A soldier serving in Afghanistan's view on Obama

This was sent to me by a woman that goes to church with my parents. I used to babysit Jeff's kids and am still in contact with his wife who is stationed back east. I fully trust Jeff's opinion and am glad to share this experience he had with you! As Sheri says below: take from it what you will.

This is a guy that I know personally. He is the father of six and currently serving in Afghanistan . This is his take of Senator Obama visit to "the troops". Kind of a different take that what you will see on the news. Make of it what you will. ~ Sheri
Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

Thank troops for "providing freedom" ?

He's dismayed that Mr. Obama didn't do that?

He should read Jacob Hornberger's piece: The Troops Don’t Defend Our Freedoms to unbrainwash himself...

I think it's true

I just read the snopes thing and it says false but all it says is that the guy got in trouble for giving his name, rank and unit information in the email and then when they contacted the guy he said that after he "checked his sources" it turned out that what he wrote wasn't true and that it was a personal email meant only for his family. I'm skeptical. I think that what happened is that because of the military's policy of not allowing the soldiers to talk about politics they told him to deny the whole thing. I mean, if he was really going to lie about it and wanted to tell the whole world, why did he include his name, rank and unit? Something's fishy.

The brutal link

This is the story sent to my email

from my wife at work. This is the link. Sorry I have no more info to credit or discredit this. Good Night. Keep up the great work.

Once again the DPers dissapoint with their willingness to fall

for cheap smear jobs. Look this post up in Urbanlegends and Snope, it is bogus, it is written by a man who wasn't even there.

NVM I found it.

It's been deemed undeterminable. The DoD press corp had exclusivity to Obama's coverage no outside media was allow to cover his visit. The Captain in question retracted some of his statement also saying that the email was for his family members only. So, pretty much it comes down to who you trust. Well i certainly don't trust the media let alone the DoD press corp. Nor do I know the Captain who supposedly wrote the email. So pretty much this story is unusable.

One thing is true about Obama and that is the more you smear him with cheap unsubstantiated cheap shots the more popular he gets. Could this whole thing have been a set up from the start??? I wouldn't doubt it.

This is powerful

It needs to be bumped and sent to anyone who will listen.
