Sue Lowden, NV State Chairwoman on Nevada Newsmakers program

I listened this morning on KKOH radio to a repeat of the Nevada Newsmaker interview of Sue Lowden on July 22. Here is a link for a download of Sue's interview on July 22

Interesting. In the future, I think we sure should have leaders within the party who understand and utilize open, parlimentary procedure and who are concerned about the delegates and the
vote of the people...not just the money and position of the party.

I thought for sure I heard her say she had no political experience (yet she was a NV State Senator from '92 to '96) and she also said she had little background in parlimentarian rules (although "some people really get off on it") and that they were involved in running things in the traditional ways of the Republican Party. She also stated that while the contractual time was up on the ballroom on April 26th, they would have had to have paid time and a half to stay and she had to keep the budget in mind. So, in my mind she rather indicated that arrangements could have been made to stay longer and complete the process in motion. What about the cost for everyone to return, not just time and a half, but more airfare, more hotel rooms, etc? She was also very losey-goosey in her reply as to who the central commitee appointed to a nominating commitee and really couldn't answer why that step was even necessary, other than it was traditional. The commentator pointed out that the Democrats always have nominations from the floor.

She was very, very obviously only interested in the money, her "donors", and "tradition," and she knows that what has transpired will result in a "contested" matter which will cost yet more money. She knew that all along. I have no idea how this would work, but can she be sued, and maybe Bob Beers as well as Zac Moyle as individuals? I do not understand in the first place how a person, for example, can sue a homeowners association, or even a neighbor, but cannot sue a private club, which is apparently what the political parties are considered? What if I had fallen down and broken my leg when those "suits" were running madly up and down the aisles shouting "get out, everyone out, McCain people out"...sure, I could have sued the Peppermill Casino for turning the lights down, perhaps the people running the aises yelling 'out'...but I'm sure an attorney would have advised suing the "leaders" on the podium for the actions taken. Just thinking here. The way Sue made it sound was no big deal going to the RNC with a contest, so somehow it seems as though we have to go about this by making the concern for one's own actions, not the party, but individual wrongdoing, perhaps?

Sue also stated that she wrote individually to each delegate to ask for RSVPs for the July 26th date...they were so concerned about them having to pay out money (it's always the money element as an excuse)...and yet are they concerned that there are possibly two slates of delegates spending money to go to St. Paul, paying all those expenses? At least one delegate I know of received no such letter. No, so long as it is out of their hands, they think they have past the goalpost, so I think we have to keep throwing it back in their laps and letting it cost them money, perhaps even personally. What about each delegate filing in small claims courts for expense of the original April 26th date and for travel expenses?

Sue did seem to indicate that the platform and some other tasks were completed on April 26th...but how can that even be (unless she is recognizing that we did it on June 28th)? Do partial convention results still count as complete parts, since they never concluded their convention and it is still in illegal recess if one wants to even count their convention at all instead of as a part of the final (our) convention? It seems to me she wants to discount our completing the convention for her, while counting certain elements of an imcomplete (in her mind) convention which she illegally recessed. Hope that made some sort of sense.

I agree Paulette...

...it seems to me that NV GOP is divided into four main groups right now... 1. Old members that want nothing to do with change of any kind... 2. Old members that are tired of having their party stolen from them but are afraid to stand up and be recognized for fear of reprisal... 3. Old members that ARE standing up for change while they have us to forward their agenda and accept any blame if it doesn't work out for them... 4. New members that will let NOTHING stand in their way of being heard and fairly represented within a party they joined, and in some instances, were legally elected into as Delegates for the party.

In any case, They have completely misrepresented themselves to us and I like the idea of every Delegate suing for repayment of expenditures for an incomplete convention as the party has NEVER acted in good faith to represent the rights of the Delegates... and you'd think that would be their priority... but not here... we don't live in a free and open society.

Geeksneek

I think you have a good division there. I wonder if we have any legal/attorney types visiting DailyPaul who might be able to give their thoughts. Singular suits might be more effective, more inconvenient, but how to word it and what the actual "complaint" would be. Durn, one of those times I wish I had more legal knowledge. If we cannot, somewhere along the line, bring at least one positive legal result, they can continue to railroad the elections in this country. Even if this weren't a matter originally of marginalizing Ron Paul, and just a matter of any election, what is happening is wrong in that the parties do not truly represent the individual and the voters' rights.

Coordinate with the Terhune's...

... as I know they are exploring their legal options right now following the recent hearings and I'm sure Delegate Recourse is one of their topics for discussion. Whatever anybody decides to do it would be best to keep 'em informed so as not to overlap or impede their efforts in any way. Keep the pressure on!

Already sent almost the exact same thoughts to the Terhunes

My husband just pointed out one more division...the people who went out and wanted to vote for others, especially Romney. More than 3/4 of the people of this State voted for other than McCain...so Ron Paul supporters and delegates are not the only people who were hurt by the actions of Lowden, Beers, et al.

5 catagories...

...good call Mr. Paulette and I agree that these folks were also very offended by the behavior of the party towards ALL the Delegates... not just those fanatical Paulites... or Paultards as they refer to us. I have met many and they are openly concerned about what is happening in their state... it's the die hard McCain supporters that just keep trying to tell everybody else what to do and we're ALL sick of it... I think constitutional candidates have a real chance this time if we can get them enough exposure leading up to the elections.

Mr. Paulette is a smart guy,

He's the one who told me about Dr. Paul in the first place. In case you missed it, check out a recent post on libertypost.org.

I don't "hate" nor necessarily even dislike people who support other candidates. I think some are terribly mislead and don't do enough homework, or are even lemmings just doing what they are told to do. Good little Party members. Some of these people must feel somehow threatened by us and the unfortunate thing about that is they often are too closed minded to look at the viability of a Ron Paul Presidency and the good it would do this country.

This has not yet played out ...

I will be very surprised if the NV GOP gets its way with this one.

This group of renegade republicans needs to find a business model to spread their message.

How to, is the message.

Freedom will prevail.

WAHOR!!
