Can Ron Paul Walk the Talk????
Submitted by emptyeternity on Mon, 07/28/2008 - 12:33
i just read that the good Doc has not responded to our petitions of grievances, as read on the "We the People" website. I maxed out contributions, and i dont intend on supporting Campaign for Liberty or the liberty PAC, until he comes clean.

There's no doubt in my mind
that RP will respond to the petition for redress of grievances.

Well, if you don't support the Campaign for Liberty, I just wish you good luck with whoever you find to back, and I hope that they respond to whatever your demands are. Ciao, and don't let the door hit you, etc.

Actually . . .
Dr. Paul HAS been "walking the talk" for the last thirty years.
Awe, boo hoo, you didnt get
Awe, boo hoo, you didnt get your widdle petition signed.
Grow up.
Dr. Paul is, what, 72 years old?
He should be sitting on a back porch in a home that he has retired in doing nothing but spending time with his wife and family.
Instead he is working.
Working for your freedoms.
Maybe the petition wasnt worth signing?
I havent seen it. but hey thats a thought.

It's not the type of
It's not the type of petition that you are thinking of.
The "petition" is not a petition in the traditional sense (where a bunch of people sign on to a cause) but rather it is a formal request to those who are in offices of authority within the government. The petition for redress of grievances, read that as: request that the government make things right, is a legal and formal process that is a right of the people to use. It is also the duty and obligation of those who are served these petitions for redress of grievances to respond in a very specific way.
In this case the term "petition" should be read as "formal request."
Ron Paul must respond, no different than all the other members of Congress.

To clarify, Not a retirement
To clarify,
Not a retirement home.
hahaha.
If ANYONE
If anyone will reply appropriately it will be the Doc. Leave this to Bob Schulz and his 'staff' and don't worry about it. They most likely know each other as well.
This petition thing
directed at Dr. Paul seems to me not very productive. Have they not studied Dr. Paul's record and know exactly where he stands on all the issues? He is trying to persuade his colleagues all the time and is now in a stronger position than ever before perhaps. And now these people are trying to be "better" than Dr. Paul and get angry and grow distrust if he does not sign their petition. Quite pathetic. Rather concentrate in addressing the petition to other politicians. Some politicians may sign on some of the issues, while not others. Most of the politicians will probably not sign it. These people should rather be active in getting more voters (not politicians) persuaded, and the politicians will follow where the people go over time. They should rather ask where they can be active in the CFL, signing up more people for that, and organizing to elect Ron Paul candidates on all levels (that would by the way be able to sign and vote according to their petition). Getting active on local level is important.
The whole point was to serve EVERY member...
It is/was a letter of redress and Dr Paul has endorsed this idea. He will happily sign it as soon as he is made aware of it.
This is an attempt to hold our government accountable, the same thing Ron Pauls been trying by himself to do fo 30 years.
By the way, the man I served on June 30th never responded and refused to sign for it.
They are laughing at us in private & thumbing their noses at us in public.
I've posted a few times to
I've posted a few times to this thread to explain. Here goes again. This "petition" is not one where they are trying to collect signatures. The petition is a legal and formal request to those who are in offices of authority to request that they right certain wrongdoings.
It's not a signature collection.
Ron Paul, as well as all other members of Congress that this was served to, must formally respond.
This "petition for redress of grievances" is being carried out as a right of the people which is specified in the First Amendment to the Constitution:
Following is the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
...
If Ron knows about it,
And if it has to do with the Constitution.
HE WILL RESPOND.

WTF is wrong with you? Ron Paul has been walking the walk for 30+ years where the F have you been?
Take you GD petition and well you know what you can do with it. Petitions don't do squat they never have and never will. They are just feel good accomplish nothing wasted efforts. Get off your ass and get involved in taking back the Republican party and getting control of our county and state and then you'll be doing something that actually is making a difference right now.
Otherwise take your threats and get the hell out of here!
