Bob Barr’s Campaign to Supporters: Send Cash—Quick!
It looks like Bob Barr's campaign of "Oh, but now I see the Light" isn't going so well.
Maybe soon, this will return to the DailyPaul like it was last year. :-)
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Susan Davis reports on the presidential race.
In perhaps the most desperate sounding e-mail solicitation yet this election cycle, third party Libertarian candidate Bob Barr’s campaign manager sent out a plea today to supporters to raise $15,000 each day this week—or else.
Under the subject line, “Have I said or done something to offend you?” Russ Verney writes, “You see, I have to report that unless we receive and immediate cash infusion of $85,000, our progress will stop dead in its tracks. To be very blunt, I am presently faced with bills equaling our bank account balance, and I know there are many more expenses on the horizon.”
According to the latest report with the Federal Election Commission, Barr’s campaign had just $69,000 cash on hand at the end of June, and he raised just under $200,000 last month.

Barr
Looks like that name recognition strategy is paying off...
Ruwart would have been a much better candidate.
Well, I guess that means
that the Barr supporters are going to have to get their donations in ASAP!
I hope they can do it.
In the meantime, I'm doing what I can to help the candidate of my choice, Ron Paul.
I'm broke
Unless of course Ron Paul requests some more money...... :)
Ron Paul Has NOT yet Endorsed Bob Barr…
…until he does, my wallet stays closed. Also, my memory is fresh as to the way the Libertarian party treated the Ron Paul campaign.
"It does not take a majority to prevail... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." Samuel Adams
“Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality”
Dude
Are they aware of the August 5th Money Bomb "Axe the Tax"?
Anyone gloating is a fool.

Pardon me...
Where were you when one "JackParkman" was denigrating Ron Paul supporters as "radical Ron Paul or nothing wackos"?
Oh yeah, now I remember, you were "agreeing 100%" -- http://www.dailypaul.com/node/52874#comment-522835
Who is the fool? I have been attacked relentlessly for simply voicing my intent to write-in Ron Paul if he does not secure the Republican nomination. I'd wager that one of the trolls will not resist this very opportunity to debase my prerogative, my liberty, my right to vote for whomsoever I choose.
Yet if someone laughs at the Bob Barr Campaign and the Libertarian Party for butchering the Golden Goose that was theirs for the taking (the Ron Paul for President grassroots campaign) in choosing an all ex-NeoCon ticket, with a candidate that endorsed both the "Patriot" Act and the unconstitutional, undeclared "war" in Iraq as their banner carrier is a "fool"?
Excuse me, but I'd say that the Libertarian Party are the biggest fools of them all.

Bob Barr...
why did you do this to me? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOuRsnVny7Y
.
So let me get this
So let me get this straight.... the LP runs this ad years ago and it works. In fact it works so well that not only did it make Barr lose his seat, it made him look at his own position on this issue. Looking at the issue made him evolve to a point where today he works against the laws he pushed for.
Now fast forward to today, we have people on here who are cheerleaders for a new video campaign, one that hopes to be even far far far more powerful! One that will sway delegates to do a 180 in days not years. Yet it is those same people that say Barr's several years in the making conversion can not be trusted, and it not real as people don't change.
Am I living in the twilight zone here, or is this as FU a believe system as you can have?

It's the conspiracy theorists that don't like him.
They think he's some kind of "plant," out to destroy Ron Paul and his movement even though they have no evidence for that. There is no getting through to them. The fact that he was in the CIA several decades ago, sealed the conspiracy theory for them. These are mostly, with very few exceptions, people that also think 9/11 was an inside job. They're beyond reasoning with.

YOU are beyond reasoning with...
...unless, that is, you would like to engage in free and rational debate. There is no "conspiracy theory" to questioning the official government account for the events of 9/11 any more than there is a "conspiracy theory" to questioning the Federal Reserve Banking System or the "Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP) of North America" or American Imperialism.

I received that email today
I received that email today as I'm listed as a supporter, but I have given any money. I gave close to 2k to Ron Paul, but business has gotten so much worse since then. It really is sad as I'm honestly close to going bankrupt. I hard to believe how much things have decayed in the past 6 months.
As sad as my position is, its twice as sad to see people on here gloat over this. Even if you do not want to donate money, you should be ashamed at yourselves for tearing him down. Go ahead and don't give money, that is you right, just as it was the right of majority of Republicans to say No to Ron Paul - and once again, they DID JUST THAT!! He is not the nominee, nor will he be the nominee, stop with this DVD BS game of lies. Send them if you want, but stop trying to kid yourselves and con others into a believe that it can work.
If I had the money, which I don't, I would send it to Barr, and you guys can send it to make 100 thousand DVDs that won't be watched if you want. But if you are going to bash Barr, honestly, why shouldn't I bash a hopeless pipe dream?
They should have timed their goal around the August 5th
money bomb. www.barrbomb.com

I think barr have to stand
I think barr have to stand on his own legs and inspire voters to donate...
I´m not sure this is the site to ask for donations for other candidates..
though I think that don´t matter...if barr cannot inspire ppl to his campaign.. no one else can do..
Hopefully he will learn from ron paul and spend only what he has in a good economic sense, that would prove he knows economics..remember ron paul always run a no debt campaign no matter how small his contributions...
that said... I hope it goes well...

Oh darn.
I have spent all my money on "DVD 4 Delegates" as well as buying a ticket to "Rally For The Republic".
Sorry Barr all tapped out, I have my priorities you know.

Thanks fine, Oruval...
If Ron Paul doesn't win the nomination, you can thank us who donated to the Barr campaign when he makes it into the 3-man debates where the ideals of liberty and limited government are SHOWCASED in the biggest national forum available. We like to hope for the best, but plan for the worst...sorry.
OK I'm going to send Barr some money...
because he promised to dress up like women and pull a stunt like the gals in Baghdad did on July 28th, at the three way debates. Did I say "Shiite" ?
I am going to have to side with Oruval on this one.
Paul is in it for the movement. Barr is going to have to sink or swim. If he generates enough excitement and cash, I would think Paul will endorse him.
If Barr runs a successful campaign and shows to be successful on his own, there is no one else to endorse.
Remember, Paul is not in it to become president. He wants to ignite the freedom movement. If Barr does that, then their will be a partnership.
WAHOR!!
WAHOR!!
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/48994
Barr is a part of the movement
I have donated to both campaigns, and if Paul gets the nomination he is going to win the White House (great thought)! However, if he doesn't gain the nomination, everyone can thank me later when Barr kicks ass in the debates :)
I do have an open mind and can change my judgement
of a person on a dime. Barr has not done this for me. I know that one of Paul's staffers has come out in defense of Barr, but I am going to need more to jump in that boat.
He has always had a freedom streak, but he also has been willing to pimp his name for party causes.
That is a big strike in my book.
Only my opinion.
WAHOR!!
WAHOR!!

Dr. Paul didn't raise this much cash
before the debates, did he?
I don't know how you can give the impression that it's not going well.
It wasn't until the debates that Dr. Paul got everyone's attention, and the money started coming in.
It looks like he's doing pretty good to me, considered how he's still pretty unknown.
Imagine if he gets in the debates. He would blow the lid of this election. He's very good on his feet and can kick ass in debates.

Will Do
He may just have to hang on until Sept and Paul decides what he is going to do. I think Paul will use some C4L PAC money to run some pro Barr ads. Maybe not an endorsement but some kind of help.
I hate McCain and Obama just as much as the other guy. It is sad we see more people bashing Barr on this site then people bashing those two. They are so far from our beliefs, yet Barr is out there making our case on most issues.
Go ahead and bring up his past. I will guarantee this. If McCain changed his mind on the Iraq war, FISA, and medical marijuana and ran against those isses. This movement would have never happened around Ron Paul and most of us would be trumpeting McCain as the great hope.
And
Even though I also hate being asked for money. I will donate on August 5th. A little effort to get a moneybomb going for Barr.

Good For You
Good for you tajitj. I hate for those war mongerers at the War Street Journal to be chuckling at our disarray.
Wall Street Journal Gloating
It is apparent that the Wall Street Journal is amused at us Ron Paul supporters since many of us are not the supporting the Libertarian candidate, Bob Barr. The WSJ and its Republican Party friends are smirking at our divisions. They hope that Bob Barr will not gain the support of the Ron Paul contributers so that the Big Government candidates, McCain and Obama will have an easier time during the debates without a participant speaking out for the US Constitution and small government. The WSJ is laughing at us.
That's going overboard
with conspiracy theory. The WSJ editors would like nothing more than a libertarian president, and to see business go unregulated like Paul and Barr propose. The WSJ are longtime free-marketers.

Trolling in the defense of liberty is no vice.
They should be!
If I was a R or D I would be laughing too! "No Barr in the debates? ALLELUIA! No one to show the country how far from the ideas of liberty and limited government we have come! Big Government prevails again! Who's rollin' the celebratory doobie (jk)?"
Confused soul...
"YES! I HOPE THE BARR CAMPAIGN FAILS MISERABLY SO HE CAN'T GET INTO THE DEBATES! I WANT LIBERTARIANS AND SMALL "L" REPUBLICANS TO BE DISGRACED BY OUR HEROES OBAMA AND MCCAIN!! PLEASE I DON'T WANT THE IDEAL OF LIBERTY TO BE SPREAD BY SOMEONE I DON'T LIKE!"
Remember it's not about the man (Ron Paul or Barr), it's about the message...is that really too hard to comprehend?
If Barr proves he has
the same integrity and wisdom as Dr.Ron Paul, he might have a chance
but... Barr is not Ron Paul.
Ron Paul!!!
People, it's not the man
People, it's not the man (Paul or Barr), it is the message. Ron Paul has spoken of this on numerous occasions. Ron Paul is not going to be around forever, you know...
