Ron Paul: You have six days to give us your answer!
I have been reading the polarized views on the DP for several months. Since we are fast approaching crunch time, I believe we must demand an endorsement. If we don’t get one by August 4th, it would clearly indicate that Ron Paul considers himself a viable candidate and is still in the race. So how do we pro-Constitutionalists demand an endorsement? Someone mentioned that for RP to endorse any candidate outside the Republican Party would cause much blowback and possibly jeopardize his seniority position on his various committees in the House. Let’s assume this is correct. Ron Paul has the option of endorsing indirectly, through other parties, e.g. staff members, family members, or pro-liberty websites. However, if Ron Paul gets word of this proposal and chooses to remain silent, we can take this indicator and continue to push for his nomination. Whether RP endorses indirectly or remains silent, we finally get the benefit of a Clear Path Forward. This is what the movement for President (the short term goal) has so desperately needed since RP ended his campaign.

that should give you your answer. Support our delegates, support Ron Paul. When the convention is over, we will then have one choice to make, or two choices to make. I am hoping for one choice to make. Ron Paul all the way. Let's finish the job.
Ron Paul does not endorse candidates for anything ...
he endorses freedom and the shortest path to get us there. He knows that a presidential endorsement at this time or possibly at all, this election cycle, will slow the movement.
If Barr or Balwin started showing double digits in polling and start raising millions of dollars on their own, he will be faced with a tough decision. To endorse or not to endorse.
At this point, there is no decision to make.
Personally, I don't think he will endorse under any circumstances, this election cycle. Freedom has nothing to gain from a Ron Paul endorsement and potentially a lot to lose.
He is focused on the macro, the big picture, the long term.
He has left us responsible for the micro, the short term.
Set goals and achieve them.
Freedom is the message, not power.

I am trying to understand how an endorsement will
either slow the movement or create a big loss. Can you please explain? I believe a short term goal of getting a pro-constitution candidate in the debates and improve 3rd party showing in the national election will help get the freedom message in front of the American people. This goal will unite us. The endorsement is the catalyst.

Several thoughts to consider ...
1. A 3rd party candidate will not be elected in this cycle.
2. I am convinced to date (but am ready to be persuaded otherwise) that Chuck and Bob will pimp their newly found influence for profit over principle.
3. Chuck and Bob have not paid their dues and we all know what happens when an easy road is chosen.
4. Obama is the clear front runner for a Paul endorsement, but this would mean the end of the freedom movement.
5. There is only one path to freedom. That is why it is so hard.
6. I do not want to be united.
7. A catalyst to what? Power that we agree with? Then what happens in the next election cycle?
8. Paul is focused on the CFL not the presidential race.
9. If Obama wins, we will be stronger in four years.
10. Be patient, pray, and meditate. You can not change the world in one election cycle.

Of course Ron Paul is still our candidate!
His campaign will not have run its course until after the Republican National Convention.
No other candidate comes close to Dr. Paul. He still has more momentum and a greater chance of becoming President than any third party candidate.
After the convention Dr. Paul has told us he'll endorse, so until then he's our man.
After the convention, no doubt most of us will decide on someone to get our protest vote, but don't think of any third party vote as anything more than a protest.
If Ron doesn't make it, then the Ron Paul Republicans will regroup and work at the precinct, county and state levels to redeem the Republican Party. In Texas at least, that means joining the Republican Liberty Caucus and recruiting members for a local chapter. The Texas RLC has justifiably called itself the Ron Paul Republicans for many years. If you are not a member join now.

I take this as to say that we are encouraged to continue with the Delegate process and win the Nomination through a Brokered Convention.....
I highly doubt that he will endorse anyone before the Convention and I feel it is unfair of us to insist that he does

I am sure I am not the only one hoping for a miracle at the convention. Given the DVD's for Delegates campaign I dare say that Dr. Paul is not going to end his suspended campaign and give up till the last dog is hung. I sure wouldn't want him too.

I really, really, really wish he would endorse someone myself, although demanding instead of asking is no way to get the point across.
The Ron Paul movement IS shrinking, diffusing its message and slowing down because the truth is that most people onboard this movement came here to see Ron Paul elected President, and that choice appears to have been lost back in March, when Dr. Paul made the decision to pragmatize his campaign toward emphasizing his congressional seat.
If Dr. Paul would endorse either Baldwin or Barr, it would end the squabbling between factions and might even help the momentum behind Campaign for Liberty.
Perhaps he'll make that choice in September.

Translation: If you came here to see Ron Paul elected President...and that's all...then you are not really being that realistic AND you are ignoring what is important, i.e., what the campaign is actually about.
So we gave an honest try at a long shot presidential campaign; we still are in fact. Think of that as buying a Friday night lottery ticket in the sense, that we *just might* not win. We'll still have to go to work on Monday if that scratch-and-win ticket is a looser. So let's start thinking about the "going to work" part. I'll grant that we are generally lacking in direction, but continue to pay attention, think hard about what we can do to bring about real change, and move in that direction.
P.S. I by no means intend to belittle all the hard work of people who have worked on the presidential campaign with my lottery analogy---don't read too much into it. You have worked, and it will not be in vain if we can eventually check our nation's double time march to tyranny.

For one reason only. It is to support Ron Paul. I will wait to hear his words at the convention. In the mean time I am sick to death of hearing about Barr and Baldwin. Give it a rest until the convention and then you can rename this site as needed or get your own.

RP has said over and over he "may" make an announcement after the convention! I think it is because Bob Barr is having a money bomb on the 5th!? It is well known RP said he wont endorse anyone until "maybe" after the convention. Just have to wait and see ...meanwhile we have alot of work to do..so lets focus on some of these projects!!

Why should he endorse
Why should he endorse anyone. Maybe you should go and find someone to back on your own. If your just sitting around waiting for Dr. Paul to endorse someone so you dont have to, then you have completely missed Dr. Paul's point. Dr. Paul is not this movements leader. He has said it over and over and over again. We all would like him to be our president. But he is not our leader. You are your own leader.
Start acting like it.
You know, its much like Dr. Paul announcing that he wont run third party.
Many people got upset. But he said many times that he wouldnt.
So, listen up. Stop looking at Dr. Paul as the end all be all authority on any issue. You are your own authority and if you cant see that then you dont belong in the movement yet.
This is an army of liberty-minded supporters. Our problem is
directional gridlock. If I knew the other candidates as well as RP, I would make it perfectly clear who I endorse and who I do not endorse and why. This is how to get the troops all in step, going in the same direction.

I agree that each of us has the responsibility and duty to do
our homework on the candidates. However, RP is in the unique position to have an insiders perspective, something you and I don't have. Therefore, I wish to compare notes with our mentor. He may or may not influence my final decision. That's all.

yay i was going to type something to this effect myself. wtf are people doing sitting around waiting for a nod from their proverbial leader for? is this the reality of human nature that we are so insecure with the power of our own minds that we cannot take decisive leadership for ourselves? or is this perhaps a tragic outcome of how we are raised in this society? My Birthday....#54. But seriously, I agree with another poster, I want him to be My President much worse than he does I think. Over the last year, I gave nearly half of my annual income to his campaign, and spent the other half on signs and buttons, DVDs and other campaign materials, helped the Granny Warriors, and other money bombs. Walked the streets and waved signs and flags on the freeway overpasses. Sleep became unimportant, (we can sleep after the convention!). Worse yet, I rejoined the GOP after 30 years! I don't want him to endorse anyone but himself. He is the lone Champion of the Constitution, all the rest are imposters.

he can do what he wants, and so can we. We don't need people to make decisions for us, and we shouldn't be making demands to the man who has already done so much for us.
Besides, we still have the rally coming up... August 4th? Don't you think that'd be a bit soon?
Even if he were to endorse somebody, it probably wouldn't be until September/October.
it's not like it even matters.... even if we all through our support and effort behind a candidate it wouldn't really help them. The system is just too biased and I don't think we could win as the 3rd party in a 3 way race.... the vote would be too divided.
