Jesse needs to apologize to Christians before representing liberty...
Submitted by christopher X on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 23:16
October 1, 1999 - In an interview the governor of Minnesota implied that Christians are weak-minded people. Excerpts from the interview were published by the Associated Press. Governor Jesse Ventura said, "Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers." He complained that organized religion "tells people to go out and stick their noses in other people’s business."

Christians need to apologize
for sticking their nose in other people's business...and trying to legislate morals.

THAT stuggle has been going on longer than anyone's age, living today. While we all have our opinion &/or experience NO ONE knows in human explanation what is and is not. THEREFORE it behoves a smart, inteligent, wise, educated ,top of the line, EXPERT to; at least agree
that if you pretend to KNOW anything (above that which you cannot say for certain) it is best to confide in someone who you trust to make your
decision for you. OTHERWISE you become GOD. YOU know everything.
MUST I WORSHIP YOU ?
CONFIDENTLY YOURS, TLF
Really.. Religion skew the psyche
NO ONE knows in human explanation what is and is not.
As a mere human, I do explain things all day in human terms. I know what money is and isn't. I know what is right and wrong. I know what to eat and how to cook. I know how to clean and dress myself.
if you pretend to KNOW anything (above that which you cannot say for certain) it is best to confide in someone who you trust to make your
Well, considering I am more educated than 90 per cent of the population, including ministers - btw you can buy a seminary certificate on line (they do not need college LOL) Why in the hell I would believe something someone says because a crowd says that they believe it.
MUST I WORSHIP YOU ?
Must I worship who you tell me to worship because you and a group of you tell me so - Sounds very inquisitional and not very FREEDOM friendly.
Good Job Jesse
Unfortunately, people don't believe in themselves and must associate with other like minded people for self adoration, esteem, and importance -usually to exclude others for the same purposes and then create laws for those purposes. Peer pressure is amazing. Become a free thinker, reader, philosopher, etc... The church is nothing more than a money maker.
George Carlin put it best: God is omniscient, omnipresent, all knowing, infallible, but he needs one thing MONEY and more of it.. of all God's powers he lacks financial power (or something like that) - I guess God financed his war with Satan by putting the angels in debt who had to borrow from the international bankers who passed on to us who now have to donate it back. So really the bankers are the intermediaty between man and God. LOL what a scam.
Maybe you should be more concerned about what the churches are
up too, and less concerned about Jesse Ventura. After all it was mainstream Christianity (religion) that gave us George Bush not Jesse Ventura.
It is my opinion that mainstream religion will very likely have a big part in ushering in the greatest deceiving promoter of all times (Revelation's final false prophet) who will ultimately usher in the biblically forewarned final Anti Christ, who they will accept.
As a Christian, I’ve seen what these supposed great men of God are capable of. They wield power as though they are next to God himself. What scares me even more, when there found to be wrong, apologizing is never a part of their nature. They usually have two sets of rules one for the sheep (harsh) and another for themselves (sweep it under the rug).
So.. to put it in a nut shell.. Our fore fathers understood the power of religion, and wanted the Government to have NO PART in its promotion, and there for made it Unconstitutional to do so. It is one of the greatest Articles written into our Constitution.

jesse apology
Jesse is entitled to his opinion even afforded by CHIST himself, man's (free will). GOD has no objection if a man wants to be ; I'll say , (un-wise). Though GOD would that all men came to the knowledge of truth, which is in CHRIST. Jesse is part of AMERICA & I can deal with the rest. AT least he was upfront with his views which is more than I can say for some. Jesse needs to see that GOD is not the author of confusion but is the AUTHOR of ;dare I say it :" FREEDOM ". Unlike most other religions. SO enough with the serman & remind yourself what LIBERTY entails. IT'S a two way street sometimes.
SINCERLY w/ respect

I agree with Jesse.
Truth hurts.
I too
agree with Jesse, organized religion owes him an apology. They all feed from the some trough.
Healthnut4freedom..much better than i
put it...thank you...Jesus is a personal relationship. The church did not write the scriptures and they are making numerous mistakes interpreting them. We are responsible for our own faith and daily living and the church is not going to tell me how to live. i have the scriptures and i will pay as an individual for my own sins and mistakes. I don't need a liberal church to tell me how i should live.

Maybe you should stop "reading" Playboy. Have you considered that?
I love how this post
I love how this post back-fired on the poster.
:-p
is it weak?...
...is it weak to be patient, kind, to have CHARITY (1 Corinthians chapter 13)?
...is it weak to turn the other cheek like Jesus Christ commanded of Christians?
...is it weak to have mercy?
...is it weak to gather together by command of the WORD of GOD to worship the LORD of all creation, who is the only way of salvation known to man?
...is it weak to forgive those who have taken advantage of you?
...is it weak to fight temptations of all kinds and not do what GOD calls evil?
...is it weak to stand up and say NO to evil, sin, and abominations, even when the culture says it is alright?
...is it weak to NOT pay evil back with evil (revenge)?
...is it weak to stand for the Truth, yet not in hatred or in malice, but with Love (charity).
...is it weak to love mine enemies just as much as i love those who love me?
...NO! IT TAKES A STRONG PERSON TO DO THESE THINGS! a strength that non-Christians cannot understand, nor would they want to...
...this is what Jesse needs to think about and apologize for his poor choice of words. if it wasn't for Christians doing these things that the LORD JESUS CHRIST commanded, the world would end up in chaos and anarchy.
John Adams:
"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --October 11, 1798
2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I am a Christian- and I think he has a very valid point.
Hey-
I don't fault him. There is a difference between spirituality and religion. 'Religion' is a man formed 'union,' - it doesn't represent God, it is ABOUT God.
People don't go to church to worship the church and their religion, they go there to worship God.
Given a lot of the activity by the 'religious groups' I can understand why someone would say that. Think about it- 'Religion' was used to get the 'Neo-Cons' IN! They ran on religion, and because people allowed their minds to be closed and not look at issues it caused them to be totally deceived.
I REALLY think Christians in this movement (such as myself) need to GET OVER THIS, and support the rally and coming together.
I can find THOUSANDS of things to divide and find beef with- so we don't need 'another' excuse for not being united and taking our country back.
Please take a moment to think about that...
THE NEO-CONS GOT ''IN'' USING RELIGION AS A PLATFORM- THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND. TO '''NOT''' TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK AT THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE- I think.
GO RON PAUL!!!!!!
Bingo. Many of our problems
Bingo. Many of our problems with Bush derived from gullible, stupid churchgoers who fell into the fantasy that Bush was a Christian political leader.
Ventura is right. They are spiritually and mentally weak. And I am a conservative Christian (and likely Chuck Baldwin voter).

wow! Now I can actually stand behind Ventura
If he said that he gets my two thumbs up but why does it have to take centuries to realize that? The only religion that is not of a weak-minded is Judaism. That's why they got weak minded christians under control.
Hail Jesse Ventura!
I understand where he
is coming from. I am a Christian and if you know the bible you would know this seems to be the church of Laodicia. A lot of Christians are willing to take a pastors word even if it is wrong, without ever checking it out in the scriptures. Think of the liberal churches...not trying to be arguementative but he covers all religions and i agree that the shape it is in now is a sham. What about the 23,000 preachers the government has allegedly hired..? Again..I am a Christian...love the Lord Jesus Christ..have accepted his pardon which i don't deserve and am ashamed of some of the output of organized religion.

And Jesus said: "I said ye are Gods"
Which we are, just as he claimed to be one of those Gods.
He also said: "Be ye perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect".
He did not say "try to be" he said to "be".
then he said : "All these things I have done ye can do".
Unfortunately most Christians never read what Jesus said and when they do they don't believe him.

Get over it! He is entitled
Get over it! He is entitled to his opinion as you are yours. There is a huge evangelical movement that votes blindly for Bush and republicans, we know that for sure, also look at how the Mormons voted in Utah (lets not get into the arguement if they are christian or not here please)- 90% who voted republican voted for Mitt Romney. These are just a few examples. I think that this is the type of behavior that Jesse was talking about.

I agree. I was one of those blind Christian voters...and even worse I voted for all three Bush terms (Jr and Sr). But I will forgive myself as my choice was evil or "eviler".
I am close to burn-out on all of this, it is bigger than David and Goliath. We are funding our enemy (gov and media ) with our own hard-earned tax dollars. I wish RP had endorsed Chuck Baldwin or joined Jessie in a timely manner. That is one Christian / Constitutionalist combo that would have re-energized me. Frankly, I believe this election was our last chance.
I am with you ..... I think
I am with you ..... I think that 2012 will be to late, now is the time, I pray for something spectacular to happen soon.... in the mean time I will keep working to promote liberty where I can.
I don't think it was a direct attack
What I am hearing him criticize is organized religion, not individuals who practice a certain faith. Organized religion does create a lot of mindless robots who do not think for themselves but do only as their church or other religious leadership tell them to do. I think that is what he is referring to.
STOP and think for yourself. Your relationship with God is between you and Him and not based on what group you follow. See how easily people were duped by Hitler. Only those who did not follow their creed, like Deitrich Bonhoffer, stood against Hitler and for the right.
Think as an individual and not collectively in a group.
