First and foremost, Ron Paul considers if Constitutional authority exists for Congress to vote on new legislation.
Does the Federal Government have the necessary Constitutional authority to rule on this issue? I'm not sure and I don't have time at the moment to verify, but my guess is that this is not an authorized Federal power.
As we all should know, any powers not specifically given to the Federal Government are then reserved to the States and The People.
A member of my Meetup group sent a very long e-mail today detailing what is wrong with the bill. As some people commented below, it is pushing some of the same things as the Real ID Act pushed.
I, too, have always trusted NumbersUSA, but guess I don't anymore. Once, again, Dr. Paul is right.
Exactly! I've posted warnings about this before too and have written NumbersUSA with same concerns. Numbers does a wonderful job sounding alarm on illegal alien issues but they are dead wrong on e-verify.
