Goldwater '64 - "Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice."

First, I was around 7 years old when Goldwater ran. My mother and family were very passionate about Goldwater. He was so important to them. I never forgot that. I have never been anything but a Republican because that is what a Republican is to me.

Second, I was at the Arizona State Delegate's convention and talking to two older people that have been attending state and national delegate conventions for 30 years. I asked them if they had ever seen anything so obvious where they were shutting a candidate out and pushing another like they were with McCain. I didn't mention RP but they were totally against what was going on. They said "Once. When Reagan was running in 1976. They made sure that they did not let him speak at the National Convention until after the voting was finished." So, Goldwater and Reagan were both subjected to the same garbage. Unfortunately we have a very biased media now that has not given Ron Paul the visibility he needs and the Republicans have been brain washed by the neocons.

those boos and those cheers and that speech were some of the most beautiful sounds I've heard in quite a while.

Where are those conservatives now? What happened to these people? They should be with us now! Damn the rules, and damn the convention.... if we don't stand up at the convention then it will be a sad moment in history.

I want to hear those same beautiful boos for John McCain, and I want to hear a new great speech by Ron Paul with the loudest, most enthusiastic response, and I sincerely hope that God allows it to happen, and that I might witness it.

I was so d___ young then, and I do remember Johnson's dirty lies. In the Anderson Independent (Anderson, South Carolina) the dem's ran a full page ad with nothing on it but a nuclear mushroom cloud and the words "Goldwater's Solution".

They took us into Vietnam, Korea, and two world wars. And they are still dishonest.

that any speaker that mentions something about McClown known to be untrue, (or just mentions his name for that matter) the booing should start and never stop until they realize they have to nominate someone else.Nothing wrong with booing people when a traitor is about to be nominated.

I am sure that just fuels their fire, even to this day. Now the Rockefellers do not lose, it is always win, win for them. That is until they met all of us, they don't know the ass whipping were gonna hand them, the never ending ass whipping.

I believe that all congressional candidates have access to the Convention and to the floor. The issue with Ron Paul is that he was not given an opportunity to speak. If he were to attend just to walk around it would only accentuate his marginalized status in the convention. He opted for his own rally instead.

The room was divided fairly equally between Paulites and supporters of all the other candidates. We had about 30-40% of the delegates when the day began and continued to win more throughout the day because of our well-informed positions on issues that were important to the people in that room... and then Ron Paul spoke and delivered an impressive and empowering speech that united the room and overwhelmed the status quo... He pulled a Goldwater!

Unfortunately for us we were not receiving live national media coverage and c-span (main sponsor of the event) shut off their cameras, during one of the most exciting State Conventions in history (nothing to see here), when during the convention the NV GOP began unethically removing as many delegates as possible from the room in order to avoid a quorum... before illegally calling for a recess and leaving the room... thank God we have our own video footage to prove it or they would still be calling us liars and claiming it never happened that way.

The American people DO RESPOND to the truth and this political season has opened a great many eyes and minds that will continue to spread our message of hope and possibility and who will take to heart these mighty words:
FIGHT THE POWER!
