communication shut down

0 votes

suppose the next time you went to log on to the daily paul or the internet in general and it was shut down. what would you do to keep in contact with your family of dp'ers. what if cell phone communication failed to connect. how would we as a group remain in contact? the last few times i went to log on to the daily paul and it took forever these thoughts occurred to me, what are your thoughts and or plans if this was to happen? we have come to rely on these forms of communication working all the time, but what if, its kind of creepy.

Just a thought - Try Firefox first

IE is not as good a browser as some of the other open source browsers are, so if you can switch to Firefox or Opera, that may help says my IT son.

Regarding keeping the lines of communication open, I wonder if DPers should plan to meet in a public place (like the P.O. for example) on the 15th of every month to touch base with others, just in case......

DP down

I see people are talking about the DP being down again.I haven't been here for a couple of hours so I didn't notice. But FYI last night when it was down for a long time I couldn't access the links at We The People Foundation so something is definitely amiss. This might be phase one of shutting down the internet I'm sure there's some Gov head involved.

We need a backup site

or a common place or person ie persons to contact in case of a national emergency ( false flag ) ect.

Same here , 2bfree

Was unable to connect to the site. I am using Firefox, so I don't think it is IE at fault...

Me too

After posting my comment below I went to another site and when I tried to come back to DP I couldn't. I tried several other sites and all was well except DP. I'm still on Firefox tonight.
Something strange is going on.

ditto

I agree....some thing happened to me....

Spent the last

20 minutes trying to log on. Surfed the net just fine, but could not log on to DP? I have DSL...

What the H is going on?

Again tonight IE would not let me come to daily paul. This time I downloaded opera browser and here I am........this is getting ridiculous...I am so po'd.....

Use a Hard Wire

Remember the old fashioned hard wire/land line telephone?

There are also CB radios or HAM radios when it gets that bad.

Prison planet

was working fine last night. But alot of others were not

I thought it was just my computer acting up last night!

Every time I tried to log on to this site, my Internet Explorer warning box came up saying there was an error and had to shut down. I was FREAKING OUT! I tried the CFL site and was able to get on there without any problem. Does anyone know what happened?
I don't even want to THINK about not having internet, but I know that we do have to face the reality that it is a very real possibility! How much do those upper and lower band Ham radios go for at Radio Shack? It's only a matter of time before our government starts behaving like Iran and China and starts to block our access to certain sites. Too bad they don't just concentrate on all of the FILTH and leave FREEDOM alone.

I'm having problems too

Ever since yesterday when everyone else has been having problems with IE I have been as well. IE is trying to put something on my computer called Internet Security Suite (it's left an icon on my desktop) and every time I log on to IE I'm getting at least 3 ads for Microsoft. Just a few minutes ago I was working on a website doing research and I've not had this problem before, but it started with the ads and I kept clicking out of them and I couldn't keep up! There were 53 of these ads warning me about updating my IE security. I finally just turned my computer off. When I logged back on I went to Firefox and it's working fine. Does anyone know what's going on with IE? I don't know much about computers and this is really scary.

ssb radios

JM
(single sideband radios) used to be sold at Radio Shack. But I haven't checked on them in years. They should have radios that will do the job, but there again, I'm not sure. Another place would be Ebay I guess. There are many ham radio sites where you can get more info. on these radios. When the internet came around, I lost all interest in ham radio. I still have some CB and 10meter stuff, that's about all. One of the posts mentioned Mesh communications. It could be a possibility, but I think it would require many computers to be tranmitting and receiving at once. You know that laptops won't transmit all that far. So, unless there are many base stations set up to transmit long distances, everyone couldn't access the internet. This would be like forming your own internet. Which would be expensive and would take much time to complete. So, as for just a few sites being blocked by someone, (you know who,,Uncle Sugar), then it would be a good idea to have a few alternative sites where we could all communicate. It could be that a site outside the continental US would be more betta..............

Here is a thread

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

If all communications

JM
such as, phone, internet, cell phones, etc., were to suddenly go dead, then most likely a natural disaster, or some form of massive disruption has occured. We all rely on the power co's to supply electricity. If our power grid goes off line, then we would all be in deep doo doo. Most ham operators have battery backups. So, I would suggest getting a good short wave receiver. Radio Shack sells them. You need to get one that will operate on batteries. You need one with upper and lower side band because some of the short wave ham operators operate on either upper or lower side band, because the signal will carry farther. An AM/FM receiver would be good also for local broadcast reception. That reminds me, I need new batteries for mine. A CB (citizens band) radio would be handy too, for road conditions such as collapsed bridges, road blocks, and emergencies in general. As for a form of communication like internet communication, in times of an emergency, I don't know any form that could replace the internet. All of us are states apart, and countries in some cases. So about all I can say is that a plan would have to be devised in advance.

JM

Have to choose a person with

Have to choose a person with money enough, in each state, to meet in one central state every one or two months. Everyone comes to one state. I own a motel, in case you want to choose AR for a monthly meeting. We can put together a list of 49 people who would meet in a centrally located state every month or two, and all of us keep it for emergency contact.

Absolutly agree, we need a few back up sites in a specific order

What was weird about last nights outage was it may have been an attempt to see how affective a screening process may have been. I automatically went to other sites i believed to be controversial. They also were down with the same message. Two sites were links from the George Noory coast to coast am site. they to are back up today. did anyone try the Alex Jones sites. Don''t we all belong to still belong to a meetup group maybe we should set up a U.S. group posting contact info

If voting could really change things,
it would be illegal. Here is hoping for change!

Each of us

should exchange email adresses and perhabs postal adress with DP'ers he/she takes trust in. Just an informal network.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

Mesh Network

We could set up one of these. If each person set up a node, a large area could be covered. Maybe even between cities.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_mesh_network

Well, I would try and

get some freedom loving stations on the radio. So much would be out of our control. Maybe, I would write freedom loving poems and messages and leave them in my empty Ron Paul soda bottles around areas where young people gather. Peace Patriots

What to do

Borrow a megaphone from Alex Jones

LOL

Thanks for the laugh.
