Truly Scary - How to provoke a war with Iran
Found this at Takimag.
Hard to believe but Seymour Hersh does not have a track record of lying as far as I am aware.
If you know anyone who who still believes that Bush and Cheney are sensible and reasonable men who love their country and wouldn't do anything to hurt it you might send this to them:

"........During the journalism conference event, I asked Hersh specifically about this meeting and if he could elaborate on what occurred. Hersh explained that, during the meeting in Cheney’s office, an idea was considered to dress up Navy Seals as Iranians, put them on fake Iranian speedboats, and shoot at them. This idea, intended to provoke an Iran war, was ultimately rejected........"

Don't mean to throw mud
Hersh is certainly a great journalist and his work has uncovered some of the horrors of two wars...he's certainly not above scrutiny.
I don't think this man has ever knowingly printed lies...but he has been caught before using VERY unreliable sources, and has done so without some simple checking.
Case in point...he wrote a book about JFK, and used a source named Lawrence Cusak. This man claimed that his father was JFK's personal attorney, and that JFK had set up a trust fund for Marilyn Monroe's mother and that JFK was still married, so Jackie O wasn't his legal wife.
Much of this stuff was shown to be untrue, and Lawrence Cusak did some time in federal prison for forgery related to this book.
He's a great investigative journalist, but he needs to tune up his BS detector a little.
What do you think about the war on drugs?
How about Operation Wall Street?
