Please Ron!!!
As an avid supporter and follower of Ron Paul, the Daily Paul, the Campaign for Liberty the Rally for the Republic and Break the Matrix I have noticed one undeniable truth over the last 9 months.
The support financially and in numbers has decreased significantly since Ron Paul has decided not to run as an independent Presidential Candidate.
I watch all the youtube videos of Dr Paul interrogating Bernanke and Paulson trying to highlight the truth and that is great, and then he is done speaking and things go back to the way they are.
After 10 terms in Congress enough is enough. Ron Paul's movement Campaign for Liberty and the Rally for the Republic need a boost a major boost if we are going to move to the next level.
Ron Paul has already energized many new people to run for gov't elected positions on the platform of freedom, liberty and limited government. His seat in Congress is meaningless with the current elected officials. Protecting his Republican seat at the cost of hundreds of thousands waiting and wishing for a 3rd party Presidential run is just not worth it.
If Ron Paul wants to sell out the Target Center in one hour and solidfy that this movement never dies, he needs to run for PRESIDENT. Not only that as I have witnessed his complete lack of coverage by the MSM there is only one way to solve that in the absolute short-term.
Ask Jesse Ventura to be the VP, leak it on the internet and announce it at the Rally for the Republic. The MSM could not ignore this development and it would solidify that we would win states in the general election.
With that ticket we would easily compete for victories in Minnesota, Idaho, Nevada, Washington and potentially Montana.
Not only that we would seriously dent McCain and Obama's momentum. The time is now. Dr Paul is 72 and served in Congress long enough. We need one last push to take this effort to the next level while www.breakthematrix.com gains traction and capital.
Not only that this effort would bring the super rich libertarians and conservatives out of the wood work to raise real capital to the tune of 100 million. We know Amazon's CEO is an avid supporter and follower and there are more.
I do hope Carol Paul is doing well and that the Paul family knows how thankful and supportive we are of their family for being so supportive and selfless as Dr Paul has ingnited something that has the potential to change the landscape of American and even global politics over time.
Don't take this as negative or unsupportive of Ron Paul, the facts are undeniable, capital and interest has diminished and I continue to tell everyone I know about Ron Paul's books, about C4L and Break the Matrix, but it is not working. People are not listening. Unfortunately, I do think Ron Paul is the only one with the power to take this movement to the next level in the absolute short-term which I think is imperative before the election is over.
Once this election is over, support could further wane. A second in line of Dr Paul has not emerged to my knowledge. Ron Paul either needs to run for President or further assist through the C4L establishing a candidate that can run on the same platform in 2012.
Either way, something big needs to happen and fast.
ballot confusion
Ron Paul was on the ballot in all fifty states for the Republican primaries and caucuses. Those contests are over. The republican party will convene in Sept. to decide who will be the GOP candidate on the general election ballot in November. Who ever gets the GOP nomination will get the Republicans' ballot line in the general election.
For Ron Paul to be a candidate on the general election ballot he needs a ballot line to be on. The opportunity to get on as an Independent candidate has passed in most states. This leaves one option: be submitted to the various states' election officials as the nominee of a minor party who already has ballot access in that state.
The only parties likely to be on enough ballots to be able numerically to win the presidency are the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party. Both have already chosen their candidates, but there is nothing that would prevent those parties' candidates from stepping aside and allowing RP & JV to step in, as long as it's before the final deadline for certified parties to submit their candidates' named for the ballot.

The smaller parties don't have ballot access in most states. They're working on getting their candidates on as independents.
The SOS office in my state said we couldn't trade out the name for the presidential candidate, but we could trade out the name for the VP!! Other states may be the same way.
If Ron wants to be the VP it could work.

That final deadline?? I don't care if it is the Libertarian Party, Constitution Party or Republican Party. Parties be damned. It is all about Ron Paul. Please, please, please be on a ballot. Please.

I think the commonest deadline is 60 days before the election, but it varies by state.

Ron Paul was a reluctant candidate. Even he didn't realize how powerful his message was at this time in America. And the only reason that we believed him, was because of his decades of consistency, something that we may never see again in any other candidate.
Ron Paul is human, and being such, the consequences of this tumultuous campaign takes time to register in his/our brains.
Ron knows everything that the grass roots talks about, maybe he will "go for the gold". If he did, the entire country would erupt in celebration, because now it is painfully obvious that the American people have been played for fools, both with the wars and the economy.
My only wish is that on the last day of the Rally for the Republic, he stands up with Jesse Ventura and announces their intention to take this country back from the corporations and bankers. Thay would be a day that would re-write the history books.
Announcing a 3rd party run would take courage, of which Ron has plenty, but it would also involve sacrafice, he could lose his Congressional Seat, he could lose all access to government policy. Is it worth the risk?
Is it worth the risk not to try?
Only Ron can decide, but I would love to support him in that endeavor.

It all comes down to credibility, and RP is one of a very, very few politicians who has it. RP holds both the right views and has the voting record to prove it. Bob Barr may now hold most of the right views, but just does not have the voting record to prove he's serious about freedom. Hence his campagn has not taken off the way Ron's did, freedom movement people just don't believe him rightly or wrongly. And Baldwin may be right on many of the issues and people may believe him, but he has no voting record to speak of. Seems to me if your looking for salvation through a presidential candidate, than the best shot is Ventura in 2012. He's far from perfect but at least you know where the man will stand. Alas, I think it will be a long time before someone of Ron's calibur is even allowed in the debates again.

Having one voice for sanity in Congress is nice...
But the way I see it, his seat really doesn't make that much of a difference if he is all alone. He has transformed from a Congressman to a political icon and hero. I always thought a 3rd party run was in the cards because the Republican Party would rather lose an election in a landslide than jeopardize the warfare-welfare state. I was extremely sad when he poured cold water on hope for a 3rd party run. I'm praying that he re-considers, but I fear it is too late. I can guarantee that if he announced tomorrow that he was going to challenge McCain for the hearts of the GOP delegates or run 3rd party, the Rally would sell out in an hour.

WAKE UP! There is no time left to get on tha ballot
as a independent. But he is already on the ballot as a republican.
All he needs to do is to continue his run as a republican and get Jesse Ventura as his running mate it would be a home run.
We should push for this. We must contact Ron Paul and Jesse. The time to announce this is NOW before the convention. It would bring headlines and fire up his campaign. It would generate tremendous passion and excitement.
Ron and Jesse will win the nomination. But we must act now.
Everybody contact everyone you know and write, call, email but let's get through to Ron Paul and Jesse we must do this!

Every delegate needs to know that they will run together. Some people who watch the news all the time don't even know that anyone will be on the ballot besides the twin parties. This guy I talked to didn't have a clue that others would be running when I talked to him tonight and all he does is monitor the news.

What do you think would happen if word leaked out that Ron Paul had decided to run for President after all, as an independent or libertarian, and that Jesse Ventura would be his choice for VP? What if this "information" was leaked to the press, and the internet, and all the Ron Paulites, at the same time (like, now)? What if this leak to the press were followed up with full-page ads in all the major newspapers within a day announcing his official candidacy? What if Dr. Paul held a press conference right after that? What if he went on Larry King and Charlie Rose and Bill Moyers and, and...right after that?
WHAT IF ???
We have a country to save. Can we think of a more worthwhile activity?

By the time the rally rolls around there will be no way for him to get on the ballot as an independent. The deadline in my state is Sept 5th. The deadline in many other states have already passed.
Unless he has been gaining ballot access in secret, we need to throw our support behind a candidate that is running.
He can't endorse someone, but CFL can!

The support went down in flames when Ron Paul said his campaign was winding down and that he 'liked the idea of a March', but he wasn't going to support it.
Then Ron Paul went on TV and kept talking about how 'he tried' and it was over, but some of his diehard supporters were still doing foolish things to get him elected.
Which was highly 'improbable/unlikely/etc' in his well reiterated opinion.
According to Ron Paul, his main goal was to educate the people, so if you've heard of him and his ideas then I guess that's enough.

He said he wasn't going to organize it. Second paragraph is iffy also.. Don't be quite so judgemental. Only Ron Paul lives in his body, family, position in congress, listening to the stooges sent to him to discourage him, weighing the support against the odds. He knows what he has to do and it may just not be what WE want him to do, unfortunately.
Personally, I need him as President desperately. But we as a people may have just waited too long to make it a reality. I wondered in the past why people would not consider the liberty/sovereignty candidate. Why we allowed our government to operate the way it does. Why we allow congressmen to be absent during speeches and votes and to vote on something they have never read and to tack various subjects onto a bill that is not related, etc, etc ad infinitum ad nauseum. What we have allowed to happen is sloppy garbage. Any other employee would be fired but we just allow them to give themselves endless retirement benefits.
As much as I like Ron Paul
that video is what killed the bulk of his campaign and then he sealed the deal with interviews afterward.
Ron Paul did a total flip-flop from being gung ho about the march to taking 50 steps back and saying that he 'liked the idea'.
Not to mention is eyes are all glazed-over as he reads this speech like a drone.
