The Next Big Donation Day
Submitted by scandinavian on Mon, 11/05/2007 - 17:04How about our next big 4-8 million dollar donation day be planned for december 1st to 3rd.
with the december 4th debate on fox in iowa Ron needs to takeover the lead in the money before this meeting.
He needs to be able to spend freely the money he has to compete with the huge flooded market Romney has done in iowa.
This and the other venues will spend all this money.
He will need the cash reserves there in case Dec 11th becomes the NH primary as they have threatened.
Also going into NH being the money leader makes him mr. electable and the only one able to compete with the democrats given his grass roots support is the largest.
Would suggest all smaller special days: Veterans day, bill of rights day, tea party day stay online but donate a part of their money to some charity in the name of Ron paul.
Ron did so in LA to the red cross given the fires...we should do the same as our leader and make a major public outcry and shift so that the media has no chance but to follow suit and get behind his campaign

Nov 18th - See it Now!
I wish I had the time to carry this out but I really don't. Still, I would love to see a Money Bomb aimed right at the media.
Edward R. Murrow launched a show called See it Now on television on Nov 18, 1951. It would be great if we made this our way of saying to the media, "Do you see it now?"
Anyone wanna take the ball and run with it??

too soon
I think dec 3rd would be good.
Christmas Eve
Yeah, yeah, I'm the RonPaulForLife who was RedStated from this forum. I'm not here to argue. I paid my dues yesterday just like all of you. All I want is to brainstorm to come up with the best way to raise the most money and get the most publicity for Ron Paul.
My case for Christmas Eve:
1. I'm just a student and I'm sure lots of donors today were students. We don't have a lot of money. Personally, I'll do an end-of-year push but I don't know if I'd participate in these interim bombs.
2. On Dec. 24, there'd be a pretty clear Q4 target in view. That target can be used for marketing. The target can even be somewhat over ambitious because the shortfall can be turned into another post-Dec.24 last push campaign.
3. It's a Monday when online donations are already traditionally high. Allows people without internet at home to donate at work.
4. If we push it back and concentrate all our efforts on just one day, instead of multiple days, we may be able to beat Hillary's $6.2 million day.
Of course there are drawbacks.
1. Many will not have work and even more will be away from home.
2. Two money bombs may raise more money than one.
Just a thought
Smaller one on 11/11 Veterans Day
Smaller one on 11/22 Thanksgiving or the next day instead of going out and getting Christmas gifts
Big one on December 1-3 for the debates
Big one for the tea party
And what ever we have left for funds on Christmas
This way we can get them spread out to help our personal income a bit. I like the style that this one was done, but i guess i was thinking the smaller ones we could have a sign up for 25 or 50$ and the bigger ones 100$ again. It's just a thought I don't know if it will work or not.

Letter sent to Bill O'Reilly
Dear Mr. Bill O’Reily,
Let this serve as an invitation for you to officially join Dr. Ron Paul’s Bandwagon. It’s not about the money raised or purported on-line fanatical supporters, but more so, it is a reawakening of the true spirit of Americanism among common everyday people. One cannot ignore this large ground-swell of average Americans embracing Dr. Paul’s call to reinvent the Republican Party and our Nation by following the constitution.
I say that this is not only a campaign of Hope For American but a spark for a mighty nation rediscovering its liberty, compassion and free-enterprise within. I truly believe that the best method served for nation building begins at home. Let the United States of America lead the World through example, rather than Force, which is the ultimate measure of Power and a nations strength.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil Zeringue
I'm so proud...
to be a part of this. I thought I was one of the last people clamoring for limited government. I'm overwhelmed that there are so many others out there. The best part is there's always a dedicated freedom fighter to pick up the slack whenever needed. This is incredible news!
Unfortunately, I'm maxed out, so I'll have to contribute time and energy to my local meetup.
Keep up the great work everyone!
I was thinking maybe
I was thinking maybe thanksgiving day, for my first Change for Ron Paul date. I set up http://www.changeforronpaul.com/ for the purpose of several big donation days in the near future. The idea is to get people to cash in their change jars and donate them.
http://freedom4um.com/
i really like your idea
great idea!
need to get this next money in before dec 4th debate and dec 11
Just want to repeat that this nov 5th donation opens the door but will be spent fast. Remember how much Romney has been going through.
With that fox debate on Dec 4th and Dec 11th possible NH primary and iowa to follow the strategic time and place to get ron the super bump we all want has to be before these dates...there is no other option.
That doesnt mean that like the veterans day, bill of rights, tea party ideas that it wouldnt work.
I personally think each should have themes like matching funds and donations to VA, or donations to children like at christmas, not necessarily for the campaign would these focuses get the biggest play for Ron...
You want to take over the message in the media...you want to be loved not called flakes, weirdos, etc...to do this we have to lead where the govt has completely failed.
Ron showed this leadership in donating part of his money in the LA donation to the red cross given the wild fires...we should follow suite.
December 16
December 16th would be a perfect day:
-enough time to recoupe and promote.
-recognizes the Boston Tea Party
-website already being created:

someone has created this website...
teaparty07.com
seems like a good date, plus a good amount of time difference between now and then, to allow the word to get out, and to allow people's wallets to fatten, to give the Dr a good push before Christmas time, great work today!!!
Yes, but it needs a lot of
Yes, but it needs a lot of work and soon if we're going to start using it.
Plus, I think an improvement might be an option not just to sign up for $100, but an option to sign up and say how much you want to give. That way, we get a better idea of what we're looking at.
Any coders out there?

Next Big Donation Day-Boston Tea Party Day!
Even more appropriate than 12/7 would be 12/16, in commemoration of the Boston Tea Party. (I didn't verify the date yet, it was in someone else's post.) We really are a part of another Revolution here. Heck, I'll pay a tax on tea or sugar, but we shouldn't pay one on the fruits of our labor!
Strategy over Symbolism: Dec. 3
We need to choose a donation strategy that gets us the most bang for our donating bucks. There is nothing particularly strategic about any of the dates mentioned so far.
I am strongly suggesting December 3rd. It is the day before a Fox GOP debate, possibly the last debate before the New Hampshire primaries. Donating several million dollars to the campaign the day before a major debate will give Ron Paul extra ammunition in front of a national audience, and a forum to spin his support with is own words, not the MSM's words. His fundraising numbers will be discussed heavily during the media circus before and after the debate. Raising millions of dollars for Ron Paul on December 3 will buy us many more millions of dollars worth of exposure at one of the most crucial points in the campaign. Sean Hannity will have to get even more creative to explain away Ron Paul's support. The MSM is not going to cover the campaign properly EVER. We must force the media to play by our rules by creating a newsworthy event when they're desperately looking for a reason to buzz.
Strategy over symbolism. December 3rd!
Strategy forces the big bomb as you state to be before Dec 4th
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_presidential_debates...
The above schedule is clear and shows that Dec 16th is too late to do any good as you stated.
Also the fact that NH may move its schedule to Dec 11th and who knows what iowa may do to follow puts the Dec 16th date after the time in which people will be caring to know this and around the time when holidays, travel etc matter.
Also Ron is going to have to push as hard as possible between now and then to saturate the area. This will eat up the money fast. We will want to do as you say and look in Dec 1st - 3rd to have a remember the 5th level of donation and come up with a theme for it.
I still think the 15th/16th are good ideas that can be emphasized by putting some of that money to help VA wounded instead of Paul.
That will have the most impact...where the money will have little at that time.

Symbolism IS strategy. Do
Symbolism IS strategy. Do you mean to tell us that the whole 5th of November played no significant part of getting people excited about parting with several hundred dollars?

Yes. There appeared to be a
Yes.
There appeared to be a big controversy over whether the coverage over this fundraiser would be a positive or negative for the campaign. However they felt, most people donated anyways because it was strategically a good thing to do, try to set a record for donations. I would guess that a very large portion of people who donated today do not care very much about Guy Fawkes day. It was a very cool idea, probably inspired the first group to sign up to get the ball rolling, but once it was rolling, it became about setting a record.
MSM is going to ignore this as much as they can
or spin it in whatever way they like. We've already been bumped off of Google News main page.
I am ecstatic that Ron Paul has raised so much money today, but I think we've bought minimal MSM coverage from the choice of date. I'm afraid the MSM is going to mention today's fundraising as a cute side note and move on as quickly as possible. By this time tomorrow any buzz generated may be over. I really hope not, but I'm not optimistic about that.
If symbolism is necessary for people to get involved, then fine. Ron Paul needs as much money as we can give him. But if the date is rather arbitrary, choose a date that will help RP out in as many ways as possible.
Why I'd say December 15/16th?
It leaves two weeks before the end of the quarter, but plenty of time to build up since after the 5th of Nov. The Money BOMB things is seriously a potential 'issue' considering the way the mainstream marginalized the whole Nov. 5th Guy Hawkes day ( I mean, they had the nerve to reiterate, that we didn't mean any violence???). Their's nothing un-American or disrespectful about the Bill of Rights or Boston Tea Party though, and I think it fits the tone of the campaign quite well. I can't imagine a negative spin with that day. Perhaps since the campaign wasn't officially behind Nov 5th, they might be allowed to pick the next date for themselves?
agreed
I feel having the next funds event on Dec 15, Bill of Rights Day and Dec 16, Boston Tea Party Day is a wonderful idea. The 15th is a Saturday and the 16th a Sunday so this would be an all weekend push to end the 4th quarter really strong! Both these days tie in perfectly with campaigns theme so this could be officially sanctioned by them and Ron could even mention it in the debate if rules allow it, FANTASTIC!!!
Go with the 16th
Any disruption to the rememberence of Dec 7th I feel would be in poor taste. This event is still part of the recent past depending on your age. Some of us have Fathers (and in my case a father in law) Who were there and survived the attack. On Dec 7th we as a nation were under attack, but on Dec16th we made ourselves heard as a nation. Just my humble opinion.
It looks like a RP supporter already has thisdecember16th.com
so we should be good to go.
I'm all for...
A TEA PARTY!!!
we should have a money bomb war
People who want to commemorate veterans get together and bomb on Pearl Harbor day, while our rowdy friends bomb on the Boston Tea Party day. Whose bomb will be bigger? And how many can and are willing to play both sides?
Money bomb war. It's Ron Paul supporter gamesmanship. Quality competition.

Probably best to do a second remember the fifth with donating then to the veterans...simpler not entanglements

Dec 7
I think that it was right to do the 5th, the symbolism of this day is right. We are taking our country back the Ron Paul way through grassroots people becoming activists taking back our Freedoms through the political process rather than violence. I truly feel there will be a special money day for our service men and women. Time for us all to give this some thought to this, I know when the right idea comes along we will all get excited to make it happen. Peace Patriots

Day That Will Live In Infamy?
December 7th sounds like a great day to schedule another donation drive. Think seriously about this before you act.
#1 You cannot call it a "money bomb". Remember what happened on that day?
In addition, please BEWARE. Attaching fundraising drives to any solemn military memorial day can quickly become a double edged sword. The MSM will not hesitate to scrape up a few veterens to go on-air and call the Ron Paul fundraising drive disrespectful to the military and the memory of the dead soldiers. This could cause a serious setback. The day is for Remembrance services, not to be used as a political gimmick to attract $$$. etc. etc. etc.
I write this as a supporter of Ron Paul. I just dont want to see this well intended effort be twisted and manipulated by the Republican opponents or the MSM.
I support outreach efforts to patriotic citizens/military personnel, but this might not be the way to accomplish that effort.
