How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

I was just about to leave the house to run some errands when yet another torrential downpour and thunderstorm began. July was the wettest month in Boston's history, and August is so far no better. I read that it rained 8 out of the first 11 days of the month. This is more like my native hometown Seattle weather, only worse. This summer has been like the monsoon season in South Asia. Every day the sky just opens up and pours!

After a scorchingly hot June, it has been relatively cool, wet and very humid.

Long time Bostonians tell me it is very unusual. Just wondering what its like in other parts of the country?

In the South East

Normally August would be the hottest month of the year here, but so far it has been mild with nights in the 60's and sometimes 50 degree range(@#$% gloabl warming) and the local lakes on average are 8-10 degrees cooler than normal. The days have been in the mid to upper 80s with a couple of 91 degree days...

Seattle is hot and dry.

Where is all that rain when you need it.

Weather in Slovenia...

In the past two months there has been so much rain here its unbelievable. Ive never seen it rain so much ever. In the past two month we had at least two very massive storms which did incredible amounts of damage. We had hail the size of tenis balls on several occasions. Extremely high winds and incredible amounts of rain in a short amount of time.

Now this may seem a litlle farfetched, but lately Ive started noticing these straight lines in the sky. They look like chemtrails, I didnt think I would actually see them here but I am almost positive thats what they are. Planes leave these lines in the sky that end abruptly and then sort of spread through the entire sky. Usually clouds start to form afterward. And a storm follows. Now I could be just imagining this but the lines are just NOT something a normal jet produces. There are always several of them, and they are usually parallell to one another or they criss cross. My gf thinks I am nuts but I really think this is some sort of weather modification.

This is the first year that I have noticed this. And it is a very cool summer, with not a lot of sunny days.

Noticed chemtrails here in NC, too

A few years ago we started listening to Coast to Coast AM. There were a lot of calls about chemtrails and I had no idea what they were talking about. About 3 years ago we noticed him here. I have noticed in the fall and spring we have chemtrails everyday. In the summer and winter, if there are any, they start early in the morning or late in the evening. I don't claim to know what they are or their purpose, but I do know that the day starts out clear and then we have chmetrails that spread out into clouds.

About these chemtrails

Ive been watching them for several weeks now and these things are so odd, strange and friggin unnatural its unbelievable. First a plane leaves a train, which spreads through the sky, sometimes if the wind conditions are right you can actually see them form wave like patterns. The way they spread through the sky is unnatural as if it is consuming the sky. I am really scared of what these chemtrails could do to me and my family. Something so unnatural cannot be safe, and no one knows whats in the chemtrails.

Ive seen some semi credible reports that the chemtrails contain heavy metals, different kinds of metal compounds, especially aluminium and even biological material.

The people who are doing this are either complete psychopats or I need to get to a psychiatrist. I would like to think that I am NOT insane and that I am not imagining this.

I really hope someone DISPROVES this because it just brings a tear to my eye.

Here in Northeast TN

the weather has been rather strange. At the beginning of the summer we were getting plenty of rain and just the right amount of sun. As the summer progressed however, it has become very dry. The temperatures have also been unusually cool. We just had a record low of 55 degrees on Tuesday night. So, the word from TN is cooler and drier than normal.

Perfect - 78 and sunny

Unusually temperate for Chicago in August.

well here in iowa

in june and july we got alot of heavy downpours and tornados, in fact as i speak there is a tornado warning in the fort dodge southern kussuth county area. but i'm surprised we havent had too many days above 90 degrees. which is good because i hate summer, i 'll take the fall and spring any time. i hate hot weather, i stay in the house alot in the summer with the air conditioner and do my gardening early in the morning when its cool. must be my canadian blood.

More rain than the past few years in southeast NC

We have had more rain this summer than we have had in years. For the past 7 or 8 years my husband and I always talked about the summers we had growing up. If you had a very hot day you would get a thunderstorm. This is the first summer that has been close to normal. We are in NC and have been in a severe to extreme drought for the past 3 years or so and now they tell us that the water table is normal again. So we have gotten a lot of rain.

Our summers in NE Texas are

Our summers in NE Texas are usually quite dry from mid-May..this year we've had frequent showers except for July. July hotter than August? Wow...and we just had a 5 inch rain last Sunday with rain predicted for 10 of the next 14 days. Most unusual. Our rains don't usually start until the end of Sept...and then it rains and rains and rains all fall and winter and early spring while we accumulate our normal 48 inches.

Haven't noticed any unusual clouds, tho.

Cold. I just had the heater on.

Sorry, I though it was a general question for everybody.

It is winter, so heating is standard operating procedure.

I posted this before here

and didn't get much response so apparently I am way off base. Don't know. But, for several nights I saw "chemtrails" in far Northwest Houston. Around 7pm when I would go out, there were the trails with no planes left in sight. So I wondered why that was and wondered how weather manipulation works. It entered my mind, "Wonder if they are trying to get a hurricane to come in here." Couple nights after that thought, there was a hurricane developing in the gulf and then slowly but surely it headed right for the area where I saw the chemtrails. "I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'."

below

Below normal temps in Cleveland. I think weve only had maybe two days over 90 degrees. East of Cleveland has been getting rain almost every day. The west side maybe once or twice a week. Definitely more than normal. All in all its been a pleasant summer on the north coast. Its been great growing weather i'll tell ya what! My garden is a jungle this year and i never had to water anything since i planted.

Rainy, rainy, rainy! I live

Rainy, rainy, rainy! I live in Northern Vermont; our county fair was last week and it was a mud pit. Several tractors employed almost full-time to pull cars out of the mud.

All this rain is doing great harm to the farmers who can't get their crops in. The farmer across the street from us still have fields that he hasn't even got 1st cut off of! Hay is going to be wicked expensive this winter.

I don't remember June being very hot. It was also rainy - I believe 24 out of the 30 days were rain!

Hot, hot, hot

here in Phoenix, AZ...but it's always very hot during the summers...I would like some of the rain you all are getting. :)

Noticeably cooler than normal

so far. And drier.

I was just in Alaska

I was just in Alaska for 2 weeks, man, everyone there (and I mean everyone) said this was the wettest and coolest summer Alaska has had in a long long time, it might be a record. No global warming up there. Matterafact I went to Denali National Park there and it started snowing, soon enough there was snow all over my tour bus. I also went to the Yukon Territory of Canada, cold there too! It was 40 degrees in this one place near Fraser, British Columbia.
I heard numerous folks even border patrol say "No global warming here".

and back here in Florida it is hot and humid like normal, but we have been getting some rain.

This is the strangest August I can ever recall, Mike...

Here in Pennsylvania, August is usually the hottest month, hot all day, hot overnight...not so this year. We have had a few 90 degree days, but not many. Overnight, it's been going down to the 50's, sometimes lower. Actually the whole summer has felt more like spring... I was just discussing this issue with my daughter yesterday.

Pretty much the same here in Indiana.

Yeah. In AR it has gone into the LOW 60's some nights in the middle of August! Some trees are dropping leaves. I like it a lot but it is VERY odd.

Strange clouds

it's funny that you should mention strange clouds. That's what I saw a couple days ago. They were so strange that people were standing outside the shops and gazing up at them taking pictures on mobile phones: they looked like ice cream scoops-round but upside down so the rounded part was facing earth and the flat side atop. There were other clouds that resembled startfish or like 'paws'. All white against a very dark cloud layer overall and not moving for ages. Weird.

oddly normal

Here in SW Florida it is the most normal summer since I came here 10 years ago. Monsoon rains occur daily. We still are low on water though. Lake Ochachobee was at record low levels earlier this year.

Northern NY

Something definetly up. Wettest Summer since record keeping. Strange formation of rain clouds that circle round and round and just dont move . First garden in years has alot of produce rotting on the vine. Like nothing I've seem my whole life here.

"Obamney care," Nuff said.

Rainin' for 3 weeks

plus thunder, lighting and more thunder. Plus more rain. The sun would have shone yesterday for a while but it was night at the time. (I'm in Ingerland). Innit. Duck Racing is the number #1 sport here.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Ron Paul was right

It's just the rainy season ...here in FL

It has been fairly dry up until today- was 90 degrees earlier today, but now we are in the low 80's and its pouring.

Here in AZ...

It's currently 97d, 30% humidity with a projected high of 105d with chances of t-storms. Last year our summer monsoon brought about .75 inches total in rainfall...this year, our summer monsoon has brought 3.74 inches in rainfall so far and we still have 1 and a half months left!! The average is about 2.77 inches...this is rainfall just in our summer months (June thru September). The most rainfall "recorded" was in 1984 at 9.56 inches
