I'm suggesting someone write a letter everyday, no matter who it is or on what topic, and each and everyone of us MUST (WE HAVE AN OBLIGATION) send that letter to our individual representatives in our respective state! WE SEND OUR REP'S A LETTER EVERYDAY TO SEND A BLATANT AND CONSTANT MESSAGE! IT WILL TAKE 30 SECONDS EVERYDAY TO COPY AND PASTE THAT LETTER INTO AN EMAIL AND SEND IT OUT TO OUR REPS!
THE TIME IS NOW TO ACT! WHO'S WITH ME IN STARTING THIS CONSTANT STREAM OF SAYING "I'VE HAD ENOUGH!"

Here is the story the soldier in MY FAMILY tells: He is ordered to do target practice on people's pet dogs, and to run over their livestock if it is in the street. These people have a war ravaged nation, and we are killing their livestock and pets. That is some honor. Of course, the other soldier in my family tells NO stories now, as his UNARMORED humvee got blown to bits with him in it. Guess what - there will be NO MORE soldiers from my family. How will McCain keep his 100 years of war going with no volunteers? Do you think the draft will be quietly shoved down the throats of the already pissed off mothers in this nation?
Are you going to stand up for what is right or not, Congressman? You DO know what is going on. If you really don't care about winning the election, you should have no fear of standing up for what is right. And, if you really want to win Idahoans' vote, you know exposing the truth on this issue would give you a lock. Unfortunately, we both know the vote is not what matters, it is all about currying favor with the people who are actually in control. I don't think you can win that battle, Bill. It looks to me like they have anointed Minnick, but you do get to pick your own battles I suppose.
I have maintained neutrality when I speak of your reaction thus far. Your continued silence will be interpretted as cowardice from today on. I DO understand the stakes, and yet I scream bloody murder anyway. I would rather die for what is right than let the Bush administration commit one more act of treason. I still believe the GOP Platform is an excellent document, but I am utterly ashamed of the slate of candidates this reportedly "conservative" state came up with.

Here is the letter I wrote to my congressman re: NAU
Dear Congressman:
As you may be aware, HCR 40 was introduced by Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) on January 22, 2007, "Expressing the sense of Congress that the United States should not engage in the construction of a North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Superhighway System or enter into a North American Union with Mexico and Canada."
Since Rep. Goode introduced HCR 40, twenty-one state legislatures have introduced resolutions asking Congress to block the NAU. Seven of these states have passed their anti-NAU resolution in both houses: Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Utah. Another three states have passed an anti-NAU resolution in one house: Alabama, Kansas and Tennessee.
As of June 16, 2008, this bill has 48 cosponsors. Because passage in the House would take 218 votes, we need many more cosponsors to get this resolution out of committee and into the full House for a vote.
As of this writing, it does not appear that you have joined North Carolina Reps. Virginia Foxx, Heath Shuler, Walter Jones and Sue Myrick in cosponsoring HCR 40.
Please become a cosponsor of this bill and help keep our nation independent.

I am writing to you once again, as I am absolutely outraged by something I just heard about. It is one of the most positive bills to be put before the House, and I found out that not a single senator has even offered to sponsor it. Yet, at present, there are 44 Representatives who are cosponsors. This bill is the Enumerated Powers Act, HR 1359. This bill, which has been put before the House many times for many years, still has made no headway. This bill would require Congress to prove its Constitutional authority for every law it passes. What an incredible idea! So, I am begging you to sponsor this bill for the Senate. I can’t think of a single reason why you would not. If you don’ t have the time to do this, I offer my services, as I can’t work, since I broke my arms, and like I told you on my last letter, I have resolutely decided to spend my extra time to exposing corruption in this government and doing what I can about it. What a better place to start! After all, only corrupt politicians would not want this bill, as every single one of them have made an oath to uphold the Constitution. So, Will you do this? Put this bill before the Senate? And if you won’t , why not? I can’t think of a more important bill to be put before the House or the Senate, especially in this day of our individual liberties being taken away by the week. I wait eagerly for your response.

This bill will help protect the rights of states by requiring legislation to identify its specific federal authority. I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure that Congress works for the people. I look forward to the full consideration of this bill by the Senate. Congress should not overreach its Constitutional powers.
The people of Wyoming are my number one priority and I will continue to support legislation and policies that I believe will be beneficial to them. H.R. 3221 was not one of these bills.
President Bush recently signed H.R. 3221 into law (Public Law No. 110-289). This legislation contained an amendment passed by the Senate Banking Committee to provide a $300 billion taxpayer bailout for inappropriate home loans. I voted against this legislation in the Senate Banking Committee and on the Senate floor because it greatly increases the liability of Wyoming taxpayers and rewards irresponsible lenders.
I hope that as my Senate colleagues continue to debate economic issues, we keep in mind some time-tested economic principles: markets don't turn around overnight and the health of the housing market cannot be restored solely through cash injections.

The Senate recently passed legislation to address the increase in home foreclosures among subprime borrowers. This bill expands the Federal Housing Administration's insurance program by $300 billion. It also authorizes the Department of Treasury to buy an unlimited amount of obligations and securities from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Finally, the bill raises the statutory debt limit by $800 billion.
While I recognize that the health of the housing market has broad implications for our economy, I voted against this legislation because I believe that any federal government involvement should be limited and targeted. Like you, I do not believe that it is the responsibility of Wyoming taxpayers to bailout banks, lenders, and investors who engage in risky loan and credit practices.
I also noted your comments on the Enumerated Powers Act. I took my oath of office to defend the U.S. Constitution and recognize the responsibility the oath entails. Please know I will always stand up for Wyoming values, protect our freedom, and uphold the foundation of our country.

I have found that although Downsize DC
is great, and I use it for every thing they send me in emails, but I actually receive a response from my senators and rep when I email them personally through their website. It seems they take it more seriously, as it is more personal? I don't know why , but they always reply. (Although one lies, he says he looks forward to hearing from me again, I DOUBT that. ).

I have been writing to my reps personally,on average once a week, not just through Downsize DC, although I do that also, but it seems that my reps write back to me every time when I write thru their website contact. And, it actually seems to make a difference, even though I am not always happy with what they do. All 3 of my reps, my congresswoman, and my two senators are all cosponsors of the Enumerated Powers Act (of course that hasn't come up in either one of the houses yet). Now, they are writing me back and saying that they really do take the Constitution seriously, and seem to take me seriously. (I never let them get away with the "I will take your suggestion under consideration when voting on this bill" line, and always write back and say "I know what I think, and now you know what I think, but I still don't know what you think, or how you are going to vote, so please now tell me", and they really do write back and tell me. I don't know if they are really pro Constitutional all of a sudden or not, but they do seem to be a little fearful of being accused of going against their oath. So, maybe if all of us would write them on a regular basis, maybe they would be more concerned about keeping their jobs.??
More than what I got from "Liddy" Dole
I recently followed through on an action alert through the Birch Society to urge my local congressman to cosponsor a bill to Stop the NAU. I copied Sen. Dole on that. I never did get a response from my congressman, but Dole's office did respond with a letter saying, in essence, whatever talks that are presently being held between Canada, US & Mexico are all to ensure our safety. That's getting a little old for me.

That's great that your sending them those emails! Now imagine if you post the letters you write, and others post the letters they write, and everyone sends them out to their rep's on a daily basis, I think we can honestly make a difference!
