For the silver bugs.

I don't have much time to post at the moment. Just an update in how things are looking from my desk.

First of all, I just bought some junk silver. Not a lot because I couldn't find much. I paid $16.35 an ounce. From what I've seen, silver is going anywhere from the mid-$16's up to $17. The paper price has fallen but the physical market hasn't changed that much. We have two markets going on at the moment -- or a decoupling, if you will. One market is a lie and it's not too hard to figure out which when you look at the economic fundamentals of the US.

Also, Bill Murphy of LeMetropole Cafe put out a special weekend update due to all the emails coming in from around the world from members trying to buy silver but none of any quantity can be found.

Here is just one of the many emails:

"My bullion dealer here in Edmonton did a record day in silver on Friday...only to have to cancel all orders because his suppliers (in both Canada and the US) would no longer take orders for silver because THERE WAS NONE TO BE HAD...anywhere, and at any price!!!

He says that as of Monday, the retail silver market will be at a total stand still all across North America.

Right now he can get gold maple leafs...but that's all. And the Royal Canadian Mint is no longer taking larger order for silver maple leafs.

I note that the US Mint sales in gold eagles have taken a huge jump. We're only half way through August and the mint has already sold 100,000 gold eagles and buffaloes.

Note the notice that just went up at Kitco. At Tulving and A-Mark the cupboards are bare as well.

I hope you have your stash already...because it doesn't sound as if there's going to be any more coming...as the retail pipeline is empty and will be impossible to refill.

My bullion dealer and I discussed this very thing last year, and to see it actually come to pass is truly frightening.

Even if the price of silver dropped to $5 next week, it wouldn't matter, no one is selling and everyone now wants to buy...but the cupboard is bare.

I guess that's why gold sales are skyrocketing.

We live in interesting times. Ed"

If you haven't seen it, here is the notice at Kitco:

IMPORTANT NEW NOTICE: Due to market volatility and higher demand in the entire industry, we are anticipating delays in supply of all bullion products. Please note that you can continue to place orders and prices will be guaranteed; however, cancellation fees will still be applicable regardless of the length of the delay. Consequently once inventory is received there may also be delays in processing and shipping by our vaults.

I posted this mainly for Liberty_Belle -- hang on girl. There is light at the end of this tunnel.

If you can get a set of silver spoons at spot they are practical

Silver is silver whatever is stamped on it, paper is paper no matter what is printed on it.

As long as it has a sterling mark, why not?

Any short men want to take me up on this offer.

Perhaps Sierrah can back me up, but for anyone who has property for raising cattle or farming, like he does and I do. Silver is just as good as gambling on the price of beef, and it doesn't have to be feed, given shots, pass inspection and all the other demands of caring for an animal. For farmers who plant corn, wheat or other cash crops, the gamble is the same, and silver or gold are a good store of wealth since you don't have to worry about mildew, pests or leaking roofs.
So my point is for those who have gold and silver, and want to stock up on food, or just trade for monthly needs; farmers are a good outlet to trade your silver and gold. Why go through the money changers? In fact many farmers may prefer to sell you land with a land contract in exchange for gold or silver than to have to deal with FRNs. I know I would.
Let's see, I'll sell you 40 acres of farm land for $20,000 which is around 25 gold ounces at today's rate. 5 gold ounce pieces as a down payment, and I'll even give you a fixed rate of 10% interest to be paid over the next 7 years. But you have to pay me in gold pieces (20 plus interest), not FRNs or paper.
grant

That sounds like

a really good deal. Is a land contract where I go through you rather than a bank? It is good to know farmers would deal in gold and silver, smart move.

Here's a question for those

Here's a question for those of you who know better than myself. I've been buying silver in mostly 1 oz bars and rounds. Often, one of my dealers, and it just so happens he is the one who gives me the best deal, often has little to offer me but the 1 oz rectangular bars that have christmas ornamentation on them, or peoples names stamped on them, or any one of a dozen other motif's that I find aethetically undesireable. Can anyone tell me if there is any reason whatsoever for me to avoid purchasing such silver. After all, it does all say .999 fine. Am I being too picky? I'm starting to think so, but just want some confirmation to help adjust my thinking.

watch out for the tax hit on bars and rounds...

the IRS can tax you on capital gains when you sell bars and rounds. they cannot do this to coin currency that they minted, for money cannot be tax (except by inflation of course...yet inflation does not have any effect on silver and gold's purchasing power...so it cannot be taxed at all, unless made illegal).

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

if it says .999 fine BUY IT!

if it says .999 fine BUY IT! silver is silver!

if need be?

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

I beg to differ.

Take your own advice, don't be so sure until you try. I am talking about local use for goods and services. Local farmers if that is possible, I know in my area it is common for farmers to barter goods already. My family used to raise grapes, strawberries and flowers and take them down to farmer's market in Detroit to sell to the public. However FRNs were rarely used between farmers because we would simply trade our grapes for the products we didn't grow or other goods we needed. It was also common to pay stock boys with our product as well. They were happy and we were happy. Silver being that it is a store of wealth can come in handy in the similar situations.

Was able to buy a few rounds today

at a local coin shop for $14.50 each (1 oz)...they still have junk silver, too....has the market opened up yet, or are others still having trouble securing silver???

I've been to all three of my local outlets. Only one of them has had a problem with getting small bars and rounds to sell.

Get your hands on the product, and use it to teach and trade.

Sell your silver mining stock, paper silver Etfs and certificates. Get Physical possession of silver. Why would anyone in their right mind want to invest in a mining company, which is going to produce more silver, when you want the value of silver to increase, duh.
grant

By beginning to spend the

By beginning to spend the silver you have on goods and services, you are spreading out the silver and getting it into more hands. This requires silver dealers to have to find new sources to buy from rather than just acting as middlemen between a buyer and a seller.

Teach people to use silver and your silver become more valuable.

According to Article 1,Section 10,Paragraph 1, Clause 5 there shall be No Legal Tender but Gold or Silver.
Start using your silver for purchasing local goods and services. It is a protected right by the Constitution and it teaches people to trade 'good' money instead of bad. If good money is used again, it will drive out bad money. You don't have to accept FRN's according to the Constitution and you don't even have to accept them according to current legal tender law unless someone is in debt to you. You never have to accept FRNs if you require payment up front. In fact as a businessman I would consider offering a discount if someone was to pay me in silver as opposed to FRNs.
grant
Imagine if you go to your local market and you have silver in your pocket worth $13 dollars and you offer to pay the person you buy your vegetables from in an ounce of silver or $13 in FRN's. Of course if the person is educated they will accept the ounce of silver and probably even consider a discount for the real money. They will in turn will either store some of it, which will increase the value of your silver or he will go to his barber and offer him an ounce of silver for a $20 haircut. He probably willl accept it and then either save it or take it to his dentist and offer him a similar deal. If enough people get involved, then who in their right mind would accept FRN's, and they would be less desired on the market. In fact the more people get involved and start using silver then there will be an increase in value of silver over the FRNs. The only time you would want to have FRNs is to pay your taxes, an with an excess on the market, because silver had replaced them, you could easily find enough of them and pay the Federal government. You are not doing anything illegal, the Fed is the one that inflates and then steals our property.
grant

In principle, your system

In principle, your system works well, but I have to wonder how many people would balk at the silver due to the fact that the market value of the silver fluctuates so quickly in today's market. I'm thinking that back in the old days, news of changes in precious metals prices probably traveled a whole lot slower. There will still be those who will prefer FRN's simply due to the fact that they "appear" to be more stable. Even though WE all know they are steadily declining in buying power.

sierra will not repond to

Zeitgeist question i have posed to him several times, i wonder what he is afraid of? You may continue to ignore my request and that is ok but im not going away!

Wisdom from reflection - as when the Moon speaks to the waves of the sea. Yeah I'm way out there.

That Zeitgeist thing

Well, your persistently annoying question is completely off topic in this thread, Maybe that's why he's not responding to your bait. Sierra is clearly a Christiian. I am an agnostic. But I don't get into a religious flamewar with him when the issue is silver and its price.

Well thank you Bobw

I figured Sierra would keep ignoring me until he got someone to speak for him and give him support.

Wisdom from reflection - as when the Moon speaks to the waves of the sea. Yeah I'm way out there.

what was the question I

what was the question I missed it!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

I wanted to know what you

thought about the zeitgeist video, that is, if you have watch it. Part 1 in particular that deals with religion. I know this is off topic, thanks again bobw, but unless you sierra do not check responses to your posts, I find the fact that you missed the question a little disingenuous, please excuse any misspellings.

Wisdom from reflection - as when the Moon speaks to the waves of the sea. Yeah I'm way out there.

no i didn't watch it.... its

no i didn't watch it.... its peoples opinion.. and like I told you since you were catholic and supposidly a theologin that sealed the deal for me... your mind is to easily influenced.. so no I will not watch a video by some moron brought to us by the jewish religion who does not recognize Jesus Christ. the guy is full of it! now worry about yourself.. one thing I will say.. If your right and the bible is all a hoax then I and you have nothing to worry about.,. we die and go back to dust.. but if I 'm right and your wrong , your the guy who will be in sorrow not me! so I win both ways.. you lose if your wrong.. easy as that.. so yes I did answer question now that I remeber what this is.. I told you you being an ex catholic and amatuer theologian sealed it for me.. I won't waste my time.. sometimes things have to be looked at from the heart.. not just the head! lots of smart people who are outsmarting themselves!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

Well thank you Sierra

Thats all I wanted, I disagree with you or anyone that has judged the video without watching it, enough said on that point. I am not here to cause anyone grief, although I suspect some will disagree with that, and that is their perrogative. I hope you can understand that there are other peoople like me who have for years or decades had to bite their tongue to avoid the rath of those that think that they are correct about their beliefs and those that disagree with them are some how immoral or unpatriotic for having are own beliefs that do not coincide with the majority.

I don't know where you

I don't know where you pulled that from... I really don't care what other people beliefs are.. I want the atheist and the catholic and the buddhist etc etc etc to be part of this "revolution" I want freedom and liberty for all! not just Christians! we all have to find the truth.. I can't find it for you and you can't find it for me ... its a personal decision!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

I'm not asking you to find anything

for me, I'm perfectly capable of finding what I'm looking for myself. If you want to brand me or anybody else an atheist, good for you. I'm not trying to direct you or help find some truth about anything. I simply asked you a question due to your religious tag line. If you want to insulate yourself from some information because you have some preconceived ideas about religion that is your right. As far as anybody proving any lies or misinformation about that video, I have not seen anything that stands up to scrutiny, people just say it to blow it off as is always the case when they can not prove something, just discredit it and move on. You can make your final comment about this and have the last word, I have said all I'm going to say.
