A true proponent of free markets would not deny environmental hazards. He/she would let the market place determine its merit. As you can see there is consumer demand for green products and so the industrialists have created supply.
A true proponent of free markets would not deny the negative effects of consumerism. If the argument has merit, then people will start to listen.
A free market proponent that sees the eroding effects of corporations ignoring or denying environmental hazards or consumers that are unable to see the negative effects of consumerism would argue that government is the problem, not the remedy. Through errors of commission and errors of omission, the government has created an imbalance in the market place. A free market proponent would say YES there exists a market that shows that these problems exist, but would say NO, government is not the solution it is the problem.

That was a great post. The guy in the video was right about how the problem stems from the government involvement where it doesn't belong. I wish he did get more press with his simple down to earth answer to the issues about the environment. I don't believe in global warming but I do believe global pollution is a real problem solved by the government doing its job protecting our private property rights. Thanks again, great post.
