Las Vegas
Hey, everyone....
After reading of all the exploits by our friends in Nevada and the obscenities perpetrated by the Nevada GOP, I have decided to move to Las Vegas to lend a helping hand. Maybe another vote, another voice could do some good. Will be looking for work (hopefully from a Ron Paul friend) and people to hang out with socially. Going to be living with my best friend who is a die hard democrat, huge Bill Clinton supporter, but I've been in his ear about Ron Paul for over a year. He said he likes a lot of what Dr. Paul says and stands for, but he just can't get on the "no government bandwagon". Could use a helping hand in converting him hahaha. Anyways, I know it's not big news, but just trying to reach out for a helping hand from some like minded individuals.

no gov't
that's the hardcore issue keeping him from getting involved. he did go to a ron paul campaign headquarters there in las vegas and said he was turned off from the visit. said there were three guys there, all looked like "hippies" and the place smelled like weed. i tried to laugh it off and say, well yeah that's one of our efforts (decriminalization of marijuana) but he said the guys couldn't really give him any information. so i kind of stepped in and tried to address issues one by one. but a power issue for him is deregulation of corporations and the media, in particular. he despises ronald reagan and blames a lot of the things wrong with present day america on deregulation. i, too, despise corporations and how they don't pay taxes, etc. but anyways...
Oh, that sounds
so inspiring to go and make such a change. Why, not run for office and get paid, change the direction of the country all at the same time. LOL

less FEDERAL government
he just can't get on the "no government bandwagon".
I have also found that people are scared when they hear "no more gov't".
I have taken the approach of stressing that local and state governments are OK in what they do. We have some influence on local/state gov't and our tax dollars are spent locally. If we don't like our local gov't taxes we can move down the road to a different city.
I stress that I have problems with the size of the federal gov't. Our taxes are taken and spent in some other state or some other country and it is basically impossible for us to individually influence the federal gov't.
To say it another way: the federal gov't spending/borrowing is out of control and needs to be cut (cut in 1/2).
The local and state taxing and spending actually funds things in our areas, and we have a voice.
Many people can agree on small federal gov't, and moderate local/state gov't where we have some control and influence.

Yes, exactly. It is the FEDERAL government and regulations which must be curbed. It is unconstitutional, what they are doing. They spend our money foolishly. States need much more leeway. Feds need MUCH less power.
